WHAT A FRIGGEN JOKE..

WHAT A FRIGGEN JOKE... just move along. I was there 2 years and they are selective about the mail they accept. They’ll just ‘Return to Sender’ any ole thing they feel like and won’t even bother telling you. If you do business with Google be advised, you’re not aloud correspondence with them ... hahaha. I found a much much better service.

Also, corresponding with live chat felt like I was talking with an ex-convict a pretty shady looking bunch.

The larger problem is changing your address later on which is a real pain which means a NEW USPS Form 1583 is required by the United States Postal Service to be completed by everyone giving permission to receive your mail that needs a notary. Have fun with that...

Good riddance. Be forewarned

Avoid

Avoid. Stay away. Do not use this service. I have been waiting for my mail for 32 days. I have complained to the BBB (at this time there are 3 other BBB complaints) Traveling Mailbox does not divulge all of the information you need, for example they don't tell you that while, yes, there are numerous addresses to choose from, all of the mail is routed over to their east coast processing center. All of it. Which apparently takes 2 or 3 weeks. Then maybe another 1 or 2 weeks before they actually process your mail.

Hidden Fees, Arrogant Staff

Decent experience UNTIL RECENT. Will be changing services. Hidden fees! Arrogance! The base prices themselves are good, but all the fees ad up over time. I’ve had a few shipments now that have cost more than they quoted me. One was quoted to ship for $14, so I approved it, & after the fact, they charged me $19 instead. This week, they quoted me a price of $15 to ship a package... I again approved it; they shipped it 2 days later, & charged me $35! THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS!!! Rip-off! If I’d known they were going to do that, I would’ve canceled the shipment. This isn’t fair business practice. When I called customer service, they said they couldn’t help, & to send an email... I emailed. They told me their practice was fair, & said I could take my business elsewhere if I didn’t like it. They don’t care. SO, I’m taking my business elsewhere. Unacceptable!

Customer support staff need additional training

Be aware this service charges additional $4.95 for ANY packages (including spam packets) that are sent to your account. I just discovered this after seeing a strange charge on my card and contacting customer support to complain.

They told me they had no mechanism to limit or eliminate spam but that I "could contact the sender" of the junk mail package. Really? When I asked their support staff member to remove the charge, he terminated the chat dialogue box with a very rude "Take Care!"

Note before signing up that Traveling Mailbox will charge you extra for all junk mail packages that get sent to your account. Prospective clients should know this up-front and this should not be buried in the fine print of the contract, as these are charges you can't really control and will add up quickly.

I decided to switch services after a negative interaction with customer support staff member ("Seth") and I recommend Traveling Mailbox evaluate how many other customers had negative interactions with this staff member and/or terminated service(s) after engaging with him/her via customer support.

It appears to be time for this company to overhaul their customer support training. You aren't a major telecom or cable company, and I take this opportunity to remind you that there is a lot of competition for your service out there. The customer is always right.

Thanks,
Anthony M.

Stay Away From This Company

They are very slow in scanning and posting mail after it is received. Sometimes taking a week or more. When you ask for a document to be scanned, on 3 occasions, they have not scanned both sides of the document. It is only that I knew the document that I knew it hadn’t been fully scanned. I asked for a check to be forwarded to me and it hasn’t arrived 3 weeks after they said they sent it. When corresponding with their customer service, they aren’t really interested. They just apologise and then aren’t interested in doing anything to help. Stay away from this company. They’re, unreliable, unprofessional, and uncaring.

Slow and Inflexible, But Steady

They are not expensive. But they are very slow and inflexible. It takes days for them to receive, inform me, and then open and scan my mail. Fax service is a joke. The idea of a fax is that the sender puts the item in your hands upon transmission, not days later. And you can open mail on your phone, but not faxes--go figure. My client (who I told not to) hand delivered a certified check to their location yesterday morning at about 9:00 a.m.. The client said there was a manager there who said they would "put it in my box". When I had not received notification from Travelmailbox I contacted them by chat. "Mike from Utah" was so unhelpful. The third time he told me not to have my clients personally deliver checks, I asked him if he was deaf. Again, I told the client not to, but the client had when their "manager" said it was ok. I said I just wanted to make sure the check was not stolen or lost but was actually received. He said the mail to the Dallas box is sent via ground to NC where it was processed. I said well this can't be a common occurrence can he just call the Dallas folks and ask if that happened so I know the check was received. NO he won't. I asked him for a supervisor. He said he would make a ticket and I would be contacted within 48 hours which I took as the middle finger which I believe was intended. He did give a customer service number. So I called customer service and asked them the same. Customer service phone guy said what I said, it could not be a common occurrence and it would be remembered if it happened, and he would call the Dallas office, but the Dallas office closed at 5:00 p.m., and it was 5:28. I told him it was 4:28 p.m.. He proceeded to ask me where I was--which is 30 minutes from the Dallas location. He said he would call them and let me know and I should know something in the next 30-40 minutes. Well it is 11:05 in the afternoon on the following day. I have not heard anything. When picking a travel mail box know where they process the mail, and their lag time. This is not efficient in my opinion. Update: It is now 24 hours from my call to customer service and no word. Awful.
Update March 19, 2023: I added a star. I did not cancel my service with them and have not had another issue since those described above. Their fax virtual office function has been useful lately and without the huge delays described above. It still does sometimes require the sender to send a fax more than once. But I am receiving them now on the same day. Sending faxes has worked well.

High extra service fees

Reliable. Have had no issues with the services they provide. However, their monthly fees are higher than other services, and their additional service fees are crazy expensive- MUCH more than other providers. For example, they offer check deposit services. But you don’t find out until you actually use the service that it costs $12. Mail forwarding is outrageous. The MINIMUM cost is $3. It was simply the price of a first class stamp at my previous provider. They also charge $23 MINIMUM for forwarding a package...and the package has to be received at an address that is different than your mailbox address, or they charge you an additional $20+ handling fee (it cost me nearly $45 to receive a 16oz package that was sent to my previous address and forwarded to my new TravelingMailbox address). Again, I have had no issues with the services...they are just significantly more expensive than the other services I have used.

Excellent; cannot imagine what I would do without them

I have used Traveling Mailbox for over three years now, while traveling without a fixed "home address". I could not possibly manage without them. All of their services have worked perfectly without any problems: receiving mail, scanning the envelope, opening the mail and scanning the contents upon request, forwarding the mail upon request, cashing checks upon request etc. Their website and their smartphone app are both reliable and and functional. They are not cheap, but it is worth the price. Note that they recently drastically reduced (!) the price for international forwarding. Their customer support is exemplary: they chat function always connects within 1 or 2 minutes, and they have answered every question and resolved any issue I ever had. One thing to keep in mind is that it takes a little bit longer than usual to receive mail (I think because it is forwarded from a local office to some central processing office). Still, highly recommended for long-term travelers and "digital nomads".

Perfect for mail, not the best for large packages.

I have been using Travelling Mailbox for the past 2 years. The first few months were not good although they have recently picked up their game quite a bit.
PROs:
The service is advertised as Mail Forwarding and they do this very well. Mail is scanned quickly and the online system for handling forwarding and shredding is great.
CONs:
They do package forwarding although not very well. They do not seem to be set up to handle large items. Despite this the customer support will eventually sort out issues for you but it can be very frustrating.

In summary they are an honest business that does their core business (mail forwarding) extremely well.
