Went for lunch here today with my family. I Chose a beetroot hummus and cashew baguette, I asked if I could have it in a Sandwich rather than Baguette as Im not keen baguettes.
My sandwich came and it was very disappointing.
It literally consisted of 2 pieces of white bread with a thin spread of hummus and some ground cashew nuts.
No spread and the filling didn't even reach the edges of the bread. There was a small pot of coleslaw served with it.
The rest of my parties food was good, and I didn't feel like I could complain as I didn't want to spoil the lunch.
I incorrectly assumed that being a farm shop the Sandwich would have been a decent sized sandwich with a generous amount of filling.
How wrong I was.
The Sandwich cost almost 9 pounds.
Not a great advert for a farm shop restaurant who prides themselves on quality food.

Booked for birthday/anniversary. Steak night . Choice of 3 steaks . We had sirloin & rump . Sent mine back as it was not cooked to my request . Couple of side dishes and choice of 2 deserts. Portions were so small . Lager on tap was what you would expect to get on cheap foreign holiday . Sauces were not very nice . I did mention that the peppercorn sauce was not very peppery or nice but it fell on deaf ears . House wine was ok . Staff were pleasant but not very knowledgeable regarding the menu. Very disappointed as we all agreed that it was very overpriced for what we had , and was not at all
Special for a steak night that only happens occasionally.

We had two meals here during our 10 stay on holiday. Both times the meals were excellent, service quick and lovely polite staff. Especially Amelia who today chatted and made friends with our four dogs whilst serving our drinks. Great customer care goes a long way. Well done to all staff 🙂🙂

Really delicious large slice of carrot cake. Lovely hot cappuccino. Once it arrived! It took 35 minutes to get to us! For a coffee and a slice of cake!! It was not even busy, it was almost empty, just 3 tables with 2 people on each! The most annoying thing was seeing 4 of the staff standing around doing nothing whilst we were patiently waiting and there was no apology for the wait once it arrived. Slow service could be improved.

We visit once a month normally for coffee and cake. Cake and coffee is very good. But, the service is "still" very slow which I cannot understand as there seems to be a lot of staff in place. You have to wait to be seated, wait to get served and then wait for your order - this whole process is very long. I think Tre Pol Pen could learn a lot from other establishments regarding Customer service - this is why only 3 stars........

We have been eating here at least a couple of times a month, but the menu today was very limited and uninspiring and the food we did have was okay not great.
Loved the more varied and interesting choices that have been available on the menu in the resent past, please no more tourist food of burgers chips and fry ups for lunch🫤
Will be eating at duchy nursery, crocodon cafe till the menu changes

Very disappointed, I ordered Scotchegg with salad, had disgusting egg with a a couple tomatoes and load of rocket which was soaked in some sort of undiscoverable something!! Could not eat it.
My husband had the Beef and Ale pie, four pieces of steak in the pie, the plate came swimming in some sort of gravy, 2 potatoes and 2 slices broccoli, which tasted dreadful. I would add my husband does not like gravy!!
Would not recommend at all, when first opened 5 years ago was okay has definitely good downhill!!

We stopped off at the tre pol and pen after an open day at duchy college.
We were given a menu of literally one vegetarian option, one beef option and one fish option and only other thing available was cakes, this wasn’t a roast as was hoping for we all decided to have the beef as none of us our vegetarian and don’t like fish so beef was the only thing left.
The 2 slices of beef came out with 4 boiled potatoes, 1 roasted carrot, 2 stems of broccoli and something called a white bean stew on the side (i’m assuming this was something to give it some sort of gravy) and although the beef was cooked lovely the rest of the meal was so so very small portions (my dad is a big bloke and likes his food!).
We were very disappointed by this meal so much so we didn’t stay for dessert we would have hoped for a roast on a sunday, as the roast i’ve had here our lovely especially the pork,we actually left and carried on to the strawberry fields in lifton and enjoyed some lovely puddings there.
We won’t be back until the roast returns to the winter which i will assume will be when the colder weather sets in again which is a shame

The service was slow. We had to call for our order to be taken. The call for our dessert order to be taken. We had to call for spoons. The waitress snatched the menu from me. My daughter had to ask for horseradish sauce to be told there was none left. The beef was fatty stringy and tough.

Would put half a star if I could
Went for lunch one Saturday last month ordered a Margherita pizza and a short rib burger. We saw the pizza being cooked and instead of being served up fresh it was taken back into the kitchen to wait for the short rib we assume. When our food arrived the pizza was warm instead of piping hot and had very little flavour poorer than a cheap shop bought one. The short rib burger was saturated in fat 80percent fat in fact and was disgusting. I sent it back as was very disappointed and was offered a complimentary cake or coffee which I refused. I said I was not going to pay for something I could eat. Ok the item was removed from our bill but overall an unpleasant experience and we will not be hurrying back as so disappointing

Meat delicious even though not all tasted yet! The staff, Mr Butcher and the very nice lady at the till were very professional and kind. Mr Butcher carried the box of meat and deli items to my car. Would highly recommend Tre Pol Pen. Used this service at Christmas and didn’t disappoint then.

I bought a leg of lamb for an Easter celebration and it was fantastic. Our guests commented on how wonderful it was.

Not so dog friendly as suggested then. We detoured a long way as it was recommended as dog friendly and we have one tiny well behaved yorkipoo. We were not even allowed in. Never again.

Unfortunately our experience was over shadow by poor customer service from Vicky the restaurant manager
She was very dismissive of our reasonable concern in regards to the quality of food that we were served

Arrived early ordered food by 9.45 and it arrived at 10.30...... No apology for lateness and it wasn't even busy! Food arrived, I had smoked salmon on ttp sourdough bread with 2 poached eggs, eggs were cold and harder than boiled eggs and bread was so toasted and hard that I couldn't even push my fork into it to hold it to saw it with my knife!! Dripping with loads of oil.. Very disappointed especially how much it cost!

Easy to order and great quality produce locally sourced

Superb quality meat. Shame they forgot to give us our turkey when we collected and we had to go back for it.

Fantastic quality of locally produced food and service was also friendly and efficient, couldn’t ask for more.

Very happy with my Christmas Order. First class produce, excellent service and easy to deal with.
It is always a pleasure to shop, eat or merely visit this business. The team are always helpful and friendly.
