On 7/17/25 Tri-State came to my home to assess everything we were packing onto their trucks. I specifically chose this service because they were the only ones I could find that did come to your home to do so. This way I figured there would be no problems with any company over charging me on my load once they did come to load me up.
At that time they accessed me at 400 cubic feet. Told that it did not meet their minimum of 500, but they would have to charge me for the 500. I told them my delivery location to Henderson, Nevada and was given a price of $4,560. I accepted their price and left them a $100 deposit. Later that week I went to their site to check my pending BOL, and saw the price had been adjusted to just over $5,100. I had no problem with that as I was told the $4,560 was an estimate.
About a week later I go back to my BOL on their site and see that the full price is now over $10,400. I immediately call their main office. Speaking to a women named Bibby, she tells me my load was a lot bigger at over 800 cubic feet. I explained to here that they came to my home - checked all my stuff I was taking and there was no way it doubled. I was told that until I paid them in full ($10, 595.83) that they would not be delivering my stuff to Nevada. It sickened me that they were ripping me off - but they were now holding my stuff hostage. I paid the additional $6,045.80 (about 1 1/2 times over their original quote to me) and scheduled my delivery for Sept. 29.
Incidentally, now when I go to their site, it shows my load at 500 cubic feet and payment of $4550.
From that point on, up until 10/14 - I called they day before to confirm delivery. About twice a week. Each time Bibby would promise me 2 to 3 days hence. This went on for over 2 weeks past my requested delivery date. On the morning of 10/13, Bibby called telling me that would be to me a day early at 10:00 am. At that time one truck showed up completely empty & we waited all day for the truck to show with my stuff which never showed until the next day.
Once delivery was complete, there were pieces missing & damaged. Some of the boxes that I packed myself were opened and repacked. A crime in itself.
Stay away - they are the worst. Trust me
