turnkey.dev is a vetted developer network operated by Webisoft, a Montreal, Canada software engineering firm. It exists to solve a specific problem: hiring a developer the usual way is slow and risky, weeks of posting and a flood of unscreened resumes, with a real chance the person cannot do the work once they start. Open marketplaces solve the speed problem but hand the client the screening burden; premium networks solve the quality problem but charge a heavy markup and impose a rigid process. turnkey.dev positions itself as the middle path: serious vetting, a lighter process, and rates visible before commitment. Every developer in the network passes a technical screen for language and framework depth, a practical exercise that mirrors real product work, a review of shipped projects and code where possible, reference and background checks, and an assessment of communication and collaboration signals. turnkey.dev states that it rejects far more applicants than it accepts, so that the shortlist a client receives is people the company would put on its own client work. The hiring flow has five steps: the client sends a request describing role, stack, seniority, and timeline; turnkey.dev matches from its vetted pool; the client receives a shortlist within a few days; the client interviews and can run a short paid trial; and the client hires, full time, part time, or for a fixed project, with a two-week no-cost re-match if the fit is wrong. The network spans 26 technologies across six categories, frontend, backend, mobile, cloud and DevOps, AI and data, and specialized, with published hourly rate ranges from roughly $45 to $160 per hour depending on stack and seniority. Requesting a shortlist is free; turnkey.dev earns a margin on the engagement once a client hires, at a rate agreed up front.
