It was a lovely stay,we stayed in the room harlequin and it was a very pleasant experience.I would definitely recommend the iced chocolate which was delicious!They happily provided an extra sofa bed and they have an nice shared coffee and tea bar that you can visit.I would also recommend a walk around the grounds,playing the giant chess and seeing the flourescent peacocks
Have just had sunday lunch here with my wife . WOW what a fantastic roast great service and had another drink in a lounger by the lake . To us the perfect Sunday afternoon. Have been here before and standards have always been high . Had a meal on the moor last Sunday similar price but not a patch on these guys . Well done to everyone we will be back .
The place is pleasant enough on the surface and staff are polite, food and drink are an issue. Beer stale due to it being quiet, wine distinctly average, food mid range pub fodder. Then we come to the prices of everything. Burger and chips £24 is a joke, £13 glass of plonk. 2 wines and a burger were £50....
Never heard of this place before, but I can now state that it did not disappoint.
Went there with a friend for lunch. As soon as we walked in there was a friendly lady on the bar who showed us to our table and was very friendly throughout our visit.
Food was absolutely delicious and freshly made.
The pub is on lovely land and has a huge garden area, which you can sit in when the weather is good. It has a lovely pond which you can walk around and also a huge chess game.
Also lovely animals in the garden, including peacocks.

Four of us found ourselves let down, stressed and without accommodation. These guys immediately helped out and gave us 2 rooms for just 1 night.
The rooms were lovely. The food excellent. Try the eggs benedict for breakfast.
Everybody was so helpful and friendly. Enjoyed every moment and the stress relief was so appreciated. We just felt relaxed, and that we were welcome there.
5 beautiful peacocks (or peahens) in the gorgeous garden just walked right up to you, but never heard them after we retired for the night nor in the morning.
Try it, you won't be disappointed.
