I don’t even want to give this rental…Vacation ruined

I don’t even want to give this rental company one star for the service they didn’t give us. We rented Margaritaville J20934 and were basically baited and switched. The house was so completed dilapidated and in horrible disrepair. The refrigerator was broken upon move in, screens were ripped, house was dirty beach chairs were rusted and unusable, hot tub that was promised was not usable. We saved for our vacation and got a horrible house. When we called the rental company to address the unacceptable issues, the only thing they said was that they were so sorry, but there was nothing they could do. Do not rent Margaritaville and do not rent through Twiddy rental company.

We stayed at Monarch by the Sea on the…

Twiddy has always maintained its reputation as reliable and easy to work with. I book everything online and know our house is ready when we get there. Houses we stay in are always clean and if we ever have to call they are courteous and prompt. Love going through them!! We stayed at Monarch by the Sea on the 4x4 beach and the house was perfect! The homeowners left lots of extras that we would have never thought of!! Very clean and spacious, pictures do not do it justice. I do wish they had a bigger grill or even propane grill. We actually went and bought another charcoal grill and we left it there for new guests to use as well:) we loved it here, the horses were out everyday and a short walk down the nice walkway.

Responsive to issues

We ran into a few issues with our rental property this week. One was simple- the keyless entry had malfunctioned. We called, spoke to someone within seconds and they sent someone to fix the problem within an hour or so. It needed to be replaced- the gentleman- I believe his name was Cade left us a note that he would be back to replace the keyless entry system. And sure enough he came back and finished the job. The second issue was that the 3rd floor AC unit stopped working on the 5th day. Noticed this at night and it was cool enough to wait until the next day. When we called, I spoke to an operator right away. They asked a few general questions and sent someone out as soon as they could- it happened to be Cade again. He looked into the problem, realized he couldn’t fix the problem and called a HVAC vendor - which we never saw but assume they serviced the AC unit for the next renters. My wife received a text from Twiddy- this was after they left a voicemail- we couldn’t answer when they called- telling us to try a few more things, which didn’t work. It was getting pretty warm on the third floor so they offered to bring fans and window AC units to help until the HVAC vendor could get there. The units didn’t work very well but both my wife and I were very pleased with Twiddy’s response to the situation. They seemed genuinely concerned about us and did what they they could do in this situation. I would definitely recommend Twiddy. We used them last year as well and had zero problems with the property we rented last year.

We arrived for and paid for "early…

We arrived for and paid for "early check-in." Unfortunately, we were not aware of the traffic that occurs in the area so while we were there early, we didn't actually make it to the house until regular check-in time. After talking with the staff, they offered to extend an early check-in for the following year at no additional charge. We appreciated this and are looking forward to returning in 43 days!

I want to ditto the previous two…

I want to ditto the previous two reviews. Prior to arrival it took Twiddy 48 hours to respond to any email or text because you can't call them - only leave messages. We paid for early arrival and when we arrived the pool was not ready and the hot tub was absolutely disgusting. The stove did not work and was dirty, nor did the first floor AC unit work. It took 3 days for issues to be resolved. In meantime, it was raining for 2-3 days and the 3 window ac units held in by PAINTERS TAPE were leaking all over the floor and down the wall. We had to put towels down repeatedly. Also rain coming in the sliding glass door in bedroom. They never did anything about this. We have rented beach houses before and never even remotely had any experience like this. I would NEVER EVER rent from TWIDDY again...

This is probably the worst run rental…

This is probably the worst run rental realtor I have every experienced. We rented a house, on the beach, 10k for the week. Arrive, there are window air conditioners in the windows because the main units are not working. The house is 80 degrees, the theatre room is 85 degrees and unusable, 2 of the 5 bedrooms are in excess of 80 degrees and unusable. Yesterday, 2 guys show up to remove the window units (we are in COVID and have CHILDREN IN THE HOUSE, they enter without MASKS!!) and claim the main units have been repaired, they have not, we sent them packing. For 2.5 days we have been trying to get someone from TWIDDY REAL ESTATE to return our calls, 3 text messages, 2 actual voice calls for a manager, zero response from anyone. We staying at Ohana Cabana and can assure you that if you are planning on staying in Duck, 1. don't stay here and 2. FOR SURE DON'T USE TWIDDY!!!!. We've rented beach houses for years, this is positively the absolute worst experience ever. Today is day 3, still no functioning AC....ridiculous.

They deserve the Wall of Shame

They deserve the Wall of Shame for how they treated guests during Covid. Will never use again. Have trusted them for over 20 years. No more. Don’t use them. When the going gets tough, they screw everyone.

Twiddy UNBELIEVABLE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE? GREEDY

Twiddy is refusing to change their cancellation policy for upcoming rentals in OBX, despite being in midst of a panendemic. Both my husband and I have been placed on furlough with NO inclome for the last 4 weeks. Sill Twiddy is forcing us to pay IN FULL for a vacation that we cannot use. We were forced to use our PTO (paid time off) for the first two weeks we were not able to work due to COVID, so now we don't even have the option of using the rental. We're all taking a financial hit; it looks like Twiddy is willing to risk the spread of a highly contagious disease in order for them to stay as solvent as possible during a time of crisis. I'm entirely willing to take a gift certificate for a future rental, pay a cancellation fee; but they are insisting that unless they can re rent it, we are "stuck" with the rental for May 16th, the first week the outer banks is reopened. Bottom line is their dollar I guess. How sad.
Love the disclaimer that they can't promise that we won't contract the virus during our stay in their rental.
This is ridiculus. I had a rental scheduled thru VRBO earlier in this covid crisis/ they gave me a FULL REFUND./ Guess who I will be renting from in the future.

Cant recommend Twiddy enough

Cant recommend Twiddy enough! Especially Stacy Chisholm and Pam Geyer! Stacy is amazing with event rentals. I have had an amazing experience with the Twiddy team despite Covid 19 and will be booking a future vacation with them!

Twiddy being unforgivably greedy in face of COVID 19 closings

Twiddy is refusing to change their cancellation policy for upcoming rentals in OBX, despite being in midst of a panendemic. NC closed it state park and facilities today, and the US has advised a ban on gatherings over 10 people. Movies, restaurants, etc are being forced to close to in house services state by state. We're all taking a financial hit; it looks like Twiddy is willing to risk the spread of a highly contagious disease in order for them to stay as solvent as possible during a time of crisis. I'm entirely willing to take a gift certificate for a future rental, pay a cancellation fee; but they are insisting that unless they can re rent it, we are "stuck" with the rental for early April. So they're either going to encourage a family to travel during a time of national health crisis, or try to entice someone else to do so. Bottom line is their dollar I guess. How sad.

My husband & I have been returning to…

My husband & I have been returning to the Outer Banks for many years, to the same home. Twiddy has always shown the highest level of care to whatever we needed during the times we stay. That makes our stay very enjoyable, with less worry, it truly is a vacation time.
We gladly give them a 5 star rating, they deserve nothing less. I can highly recommend using Twiddy & Company for your Outer Banks needs, because those needs will be met.

We LOVE Twiddy & Company!!

We LOVE Twiddy & Company!! We have worked with them for over 25 years, renting a vacation home for the week. They are fantastic!! The homes are always clean and ready for the week, and the staff is super friendly and responsive. Any maintenance issues we discover are quickly and efficiently resolved. We HIGHLY recommend Twiddy & Company, and look forward to our beach trip again in the Summer!!

We have rented vacation homes for 20…

We have rented vacation homes for 20 years in the Outer Banks and have not always used Twiddy and each time we didn't we had issues. I find that you get the best bang for your buck with Twiddy. I like the fact you can bring your pet with no extra charge to homes that do allow dogs. If you have a maintenance issue it is quickly resolved. They have an excellent all around staff.
