Buyer beware
I have a natural tendency to want to leave good reviews but unfortunately it is not possible in this case.
Several months ago, I sent constructive written feedback to the Introductions Director which was not attended to in any meaningful way. My overall experience with the company has been disappointing and upsetting at times. I want to reiterate that this is an account of my subjective experience. From the reviews, two others have had positive ones. However,
Twoscompany was not a good match for me for various reasons all relating to a breakdown of trust.
1. Firstly, I felt that notwithstanding completing an online questionnaire and a face-to-face interview conducted by the Introductions Director, an inaccurate assessment of my personality style and preferences seems to have been reached. This was evidenced by one totally inappropriate match and a possible second, which I declined to avoid further distress to me and disappointment to the other client. (cost: €250 per introduction, by the way). The two others were reasonably appropriate, although I have since completed a personality test with another dating site (not matchmaking) which in comparison was smart, thorough and extremely accurate, evidenced by the much more appropriate matches that their AI programme selected for me.
2. Secondly, I had trusted that the first priority of Twoscompany was to offer the best possible matches for its clients. In my ignorance, I thought that I would be matched in terms of mutual qualities and preferences and not in terms of how much I paid. I later discovered that other factors relating to the company's business model also factored in the matches chosen. I said to the Introductions Director at the time that I would not share the details of this, and I hold to my promise. Suffice it to say that there seems to be a certain lack of transparency in the matching procedures, and I felt that there might be an unstated policy in my case of ‘pay less, get a less accurate match’ leaving me with a subjective feeling of being used on at least one occasion as a commodity to satisfy the Company's matching commitments to other clients.
3. Thirdly, given the relatively high fees charged, I assumed that the customer service would be helpful and supportive. This is one area where the service was unequivocally dismal. I experienced the treatment I received as condescending and unempathetic, with sometimes long delays in responding.
4. Finally, one of the features of a matchmaking service is the implication of enjoying more privacy and confidentiality. On two occasions, in order to reiterate to me the terms and conditions of the service, the Introductions Director conveyed to me what two of my matches had said to her regarding their experiences of the matching process in relation to me. This was totally inappropriate to share with me and a breach of their confidentiality.
This service might suit someone who can pay the gold standard tariff and who has a worldview and personality style in line with its Introductions Director. Otherwise, I’d recommend you try another dating site.
