This company truly doesn’t care about its customers

Ordered food from a spot that was less than 2 miles away as I didn’t want cold food which I thought was fair enough. The app said it’ll take roughly 25 minutes from ordering, took almost an hour (though reading these reviews I actually did alright), still ended up with cold food, if I wanted to eat microwave food I’d buy a ready meal it’d be cheaper too.
Riders picking up multiple orders doesn’t help either, I get that they are paid by order but there needs to be some kind of cap on how many they pick up at a time or here’s an idea pay them a decent salary and they might take it more seriously. Got a partial refund but it barely covered anything, these chat bots just pull numbers out of thin air and then you have no recourse.

Trying to get hold of customer service and all you get is the robot my order was from McDonald's app and ubereats delivered to which I don't have the receipt on the app so still waiting on my cash refund a week later now and nothing from them

As a rider

As a rider, I’d like to share some observations based on real on-the-job experience.

Many negative reviews I read often seem to overlook some practical aspects of the service:

Food quality is the responsibility of the restaurant, not the courier. Riders only handle delivery.
If food is left outside the door, in most cases it’s because unclear delivery instructions were provided. Especially at night or in poorly visible areas, details such as exact door numbers, access information, or lighting make a big difference.
Most riders work across multiple platforms (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, etc.), so blaming or comparing individual couriers to “switch to another app” doesn’t really reflect how the system works.
Clear communication and mutual respect between customers and riders make deliveries faster and more efficient for everyone.
Riders spend many hours on the road and delays can happen due to traffic or unexpected issues. The app still allows customers to contact the courier for live updates.

Biggest scam of the 21st century

Biggest scam of the 21st century. Tell me why Uber Eats is charging £10 MORE than Just Eat for the exact same order. Deleted this terrible app and implore you all to do the same.

Lying Uber eat admin staff

Ordered food that was unhygienic and damaged from vendor. Uber promised full refund and then backtracked and sent a sneaky second message that said partial refund. Tried to escalate this after much effort to Uber eat. They said a specialist will contact me. They left that chat open for a few days expecting me to forget about it and then closed the chat. Disgusting behaviour off Uber Eats

Absolutely disgusting service from Uber…

Absolutely disgusting service from Uber Eats.
I placed an order containing 10 items and only half of it was delivered. The driver clearly stole the rest of my food and acted as if nothing had happened. I paid for a full order and was left with missing items, no explanation, and no accountability whatsoever.
To make matters even worse, when I tried to report the issue and get help, Uber Eats has no proper customer service. There is no real human being to speak to — you are forced to deal with a useless AI bot that keeps sending automated replies and does absolutely nothing to solve the issue. It is beyond frustrating when your money has been taken and your food has been stolen, yet the company hides behind robotic responses.
I have been ordering from Uber Eats for a long time, but this has by far been the worst experience I have ever had. The professionalism of this company has completely gone downhill.
On top of that, the driver arrived dressed in a highly inappropriate and unacceptable manner, wearing nothing but underwear, which was shocking and extremely uncomfortable to witness at my front door. This is completely unprofessional and raises serious concerns about what standards Uber Eats has for the people representing their company.
Food stolen, no customer support, no refund resolution, and an appalling delivery experience.
I will never be using Uber Eats again and I strongly advise others to avoid this platform unless they want to risk losing both their money and their order.

Big bully of customer service

Big bully of customer service. Food kept delaying from 8:20pm to over 10:50pm and still kept delaying. Cancelled it, being charged full, got rejected by uber eats human customer servic 6 rounds parroting “once restaurant started preparing food” there’s no refund whatsoever”. Brought Uber Eats to attention that I’d raise legal complaint then they refunded me the 7th contact.
A couple weeks later, ordered food from different restaurant, the Dane thing happened.
Cancelled my account. Uber eat is the big scammer and absolutely abysmal customer bullying.

Ordered from these on 29th march 4 asian people in the car and all men yet the profile for driver was a woman so extremely scary. I ordered as guest and declined the uber subscription for 0 delivery costs. Yet at 3:30am on the 24th they tried to take £4.99 from my bank for a subscription. My bank declined payment as apparently its well known uber is trying to defraud people. This is classed as theft and disgusting from this company i will nver use them again any of their services

Absolutely appalling company! Will never use again!

I wish I could give this company zero stars. They are absolutely diabolical. I ordered a Takeaway from a wonderful family run company in Nottingham via Uber Eats. After an hour I received an email receipt to say our food had been delivered by a chap called Saif (oh yes, I will name and shame!). This was not the case - we had received no delivery. I spoke with the most unhelpful man in the world at Customer Services, Uber Eats. He barely spoke English and just kept reiterating from a script that I needed to go into the App and raise a query. I said I did not want to do that, I wanted HIM to track the driver down to find out what he had done with our food. He refused and said that isn't a service they provide. It was nearly 9.30pm at night and we had ordered our food at 7.15pm . We were hungry and we didn't want to faff around with raising queries on apps, we just wanted our food. My issue was that the driver had quite clearly lied about the delivery but unfortunately the illiterate man on the phone refused to believe me. Thankfully we spoke with the restaurant direct and they sent another order of food out with someone who worked there. We finally sat down to eat at 10.30pm at night. The food was incredible so all was well in the end thanks to the restaurant feeling sorry for us and clearly caring about their own customer service. Unlike Uber Eats. The following morning our neighbour from across the road knocked on our door and showed us a package they had had left in their garden by their front door! It was our Takeaway from the night before! Our neighbour had only just discovered it. They were in all night and had not heard anyone knocking at their door. Obviously we did not want to eat a takeaway that had been in our neighbour''s garden all night so we binned it. On the front of the package it stated clearly our house number. The driver obviously couldn't read numbers and deposited our food across the road at the wrong house.

At the time of ordering I had been given a pin number that I needed to give to the driver in order to receive my takeaway. What was the point in that? If the driver needed that pin number in order to deliver our order why was he able to just discard our order at the wrong house?

Today I put a complaint in to Uber Eats through the App and I explained the sequence of events and the fact that the driver had NOT come to our house. Basically the reply I got was absolutely pathetic and full of lies. They came back and said our driver had come to our house and rung the doorbell several times. He waited 8 minutes and phoned my mobile a number of times too. Absolute nonsense! I wrote back and told them this was pure fiction and did not happen. He never came to our house, he never phoned me, he discarded our food in a neighbour's garden! I told them I have proof as my phone records show I had no phone calls from anyone on Saturday night. Our video footage also shows that no one came to our house at the time the driver stated. The reply to this was the same nonsense - that their driver had followed all the protocol, no refund could be issued and the case was closed.

Absolutely mind blowingly appalling service from start to finish. Uber Eats, you are all a bunch of liars! I didn't even want a refund for myself, I wanted you to refund the lovely restaurant you screwed over! They will have made NOTHING from the order we made via you and I only hope they NEVER EVER use you again! You're a shambles of a company - dishonest, rude, ignorant and completely unprofessional! You deserve to go bankrupt. Except it's companies like you who will cause other hard working companies to lose money and go bankrupt because you have zero moral compass.

I urge anyone reading this to steer clear. Uber Eats does not deserve to be in business!

Zero stars! Been charged over £55 for a smashed bag of food by Uber Eats. Food is all contaminated by most spicy madras so that I had to order from another place as neither my kids nor myself wouldn't eat it. Restaurant said i should deal woth Uber. There is no way of calling Uber Eats . After submitting my complaint with pictures through chat bot, they refunded me £3.46 (!). Every next request to contact customer service comes back with "This issue had been resolved and case is closed". How can they get away with it??

The Worst Customer Service

If I could I would rate this a a negative. Generally Uber Eats tends to be good. However when it comes to customer service and getting in touch with them. It's probably one of the worst in the world! Worst than Evri, and you can't get in touch with them.
I had an order from a place. The driver cancelled him getting it after about 5 mins from the order. However the app decided it was going to go wrong and kept him as the driver. 2 hours later I get a hold of the driver and he said he has being doing deliveries, he just didn't want to do mine so he cancelled it so someone else would pick it up. Obviously the app went wrong. Then I managed after about half an hour to get onto uber eats live chat. Told them the issue. They cancelled the whole order without trying to solve the issue or responding to me. They only put up auto messages of this is reserved for live orders, yours is cancelled. good bye. Such bad customer service, let alone I was still charged for this!

I have been disputing an order that was…

I have been disputing an order that was placed on 1st November 2025 for Sainsbury’s where there is clear evidence on the Uber eats app shows that I did not receive part of my order and I was still charged for the full order amount despite the second driver cancelling the order. My order was over 4 hours late. I requested a close of my account that I have been using for a few years now. I was told they can’t close the account because fraud has been committed on the account. THE ONLY FRAUD THAT HAS BEEN COMMITTED IS YOUR ESTABLISHMENTS THAT WANTS TO CHARGE SOMEONE FOR ITEMS AND A SERVICE THEY HAD NO RECEIVED.
Order clearly says some items could not be delivered and yet uber is still charging me for the full bill this matter has taken over 6 months to get resolved and it is really stressing me out all of a sudden there is fraud I welcome your NONSENSE I am willing to take this matter to the highest court.
