Discrimination against disabled people...

Uber Eats completely discriminate against the disabled.

Here's why...

You're lucky if an Uber Eats delivery person finds your address, even though the tracking map shows a black line leading directly to where you live.

When they don't arrive, they message you in Arabic or whatever their own language is. And before you all say 'racist', I've lived abroad in a non-English speaking country. I never ONCE expected people to understand anything other than their own language.

They tell you that they have arrived, when actually they're in the car park which is 50 metres away. I don't live in the car park, but they expect you to walk out to the car park and collect the food. That's not acceptable anyway, but if you're disabled it's extremely difficult. So this is effectively discrimination and goes against The Equalities Act.

Imagine if your postman just waited outside with your mail and if you didn't go out and collect it, would just not bother delivering it.

The delivery people who come here often go to the same wrong address. So in my account I have left a note saying "DO NOT go to **** Rd." They then DO go to that road and say "It says in the instructions to go to **** Rd." No... it says "DO NOT go to **** Rd." It's because they can't read English.

If they do get to the front door of my flats, they are faced with an intercom. Simple you might think? Not to an Uber Eats delivery person. They wait outside and when you go out to them and ask why they didn't use the intercom, they say that there are no instructions on how to use the intercom.

Are these Uber Eats delivery people grown in a lab and then sent out to do deliveries never having seen or interacted with the outside world?

You finally get your food and it's cold.

You contact Uber Eats support. Another alternate form of life who have never experienced earthlings before.

You tell them what happened. They say that they can see you spoke to the delivery person and exchanged messages with them, so the delivery person followed the policy. No refund. They then condescend you by telling you that in future you need to have your phone and notifications enabled in case the delivery person needs to reach you. Wait, WHAT? You just confirmed that I communicated with the delivery person. How did I do that? Was it with two paper cups connected with a long string? No... it was because I had my phone on and used it to communicate with the lab grown delivery person.

You can't 'talk' to anyone. You just get imbecilic responses that Fisher Price AI would be embarrassed by.

This is another example of a company who have policies that are an infringement of the laws of the country. This is a disease that is spreading through so many other companies. Their policy trumps the law... and they know you've not got the time or the finances to fight it.

And that in itself discriminates against EVERYONE...

Free pizza bug for ubereats delivery guys

Step 1. Take 4 large pizzas from pizza store
Step 2. Call the recipient, say random meaningless words. Not in English or French, may be elf language, to act like you're trying to communicate with the buyer.
Step 3. Take the picture of the pizza boxes at a random sidewalk, send it to ubereats.
Step 4. Mark the order as delivered and take 4 large pizzas home.
Step 5. Enjoy with your friends.

Sounds crazy right? That's what happened to my order, and UberEats refused to refund 62€

Totally and Honestly Quite UselessIf their sat nav doesn’t show them your…

If their sat nav doesn’t show them your exact position, that’s it, no delivery.

Just think how it would be if they relied less on their satnav and more on their thinking ability, like looking at the name of the street they are in, and then, logically counting the numbers up or down the street to find your property.

Worst of all, I could not find a telephone number for them to sort the problem.
As bad as they are, at least just eat provide and respond quickly, even if dishonestly to your emails.

So had it not been for the manager at our local Toby Carvery taking charge of the situation, two badly disabled people through services rendered would have gone without food.
Thank you Jen you are worth your weight in gold.

Shame we have to give even one star. Obviously these delivery companies need sorting. Right now they think they are above Uk law, and it seems they might be right. Wake up government.

(Order No A886A) Dangerous Food!

(Order No: A886A) Honest Burgers - Ordered food and specifically ensured there was NO CHEESE as very allergic and would make one of my guests extremely ill. Guess what on examining the burger it was covered in cheese. Notified Uber Eats and all they could do was refund the cost of that particular item and pass the buck even tho legally they are the supplier. They then sent 'standard responses'. They have not taken the seriousness of their dangerous item or offered anything to make up for my guest having to go without their meal. I'll never order food from them again. They don't know how to make a terrible situation better. They should have given a total refund at the very least!!!

The delivery driver refused to deliver

The delivery driver (Delowar) refused to deliver our order, called us and said he was in a fight with customer service as he only delivers down town (we are 10 min from the restaurant). He had already collected our food, knowing our address and just basically stole the food. I hope he enjoyed it.

The kicker is that Ubereats refused to compensate us in any way. After over an hour wait for the food and then the order being canceled due to a driver spat, they didn’t charge us (I would hope not!), but really, do you care so little about your business that you let this happen without so much as a discount? To be fair I was expected complete compensation, but there wasn’t even a minor discount code offered.

Worst company ever. I have delete the app and will spread this story everywhere.

DO NOT USE UBER EATS. They take your money but don't deliver.

On Sat evening, we ordered McDonalds for delivery with Uber Eats. E-mail replied that delivery would be 18:10. At 18:10, we received e-mail saying "problem with order & will not be delivered, but you will not be charged". The following Tues, the money was taken from our bank account. I immediately contacted U/E for a refund, only to be told that "no refunds on orders after 48 hours". Have reported to Trading Standards & am considering small claims court. Would give minus 5 stars if I could. Not allowed to use the words that I want to describe Uber Eats. Do not use Uber Eats unless you want to go hungry & let them steal your money.

Lying incompetent racist abusive enablers

I deleted the Uber app due to racist drivers they wouldn’t do anything about.
I’ve been with DiDi for 6 months and have no issues with it.
Yesterday on UberEats I put in an order and was completely messed around by both their app and driver who showed up around an hour later (I’d already called the store and they said the order left the store over 30 mins prior) and shouted abuse at me in the stairwell.
He then had the audacity to make an undisclosed complaint about me instead when my own neighbour heard me repeatedly asking him to lower his voice and stop shouting at me.
When I explained the facts of their own screw up and their driver’s they today sent me a curt obfuscation short email saying they’ve permanently banned me from their app.
They are enablers of despicable behaviour and their standards are in the gutter.
Their concept of victim blaming, grandstanding, encouraging abuse from drivers at customers, lying, lacking transparency or accountability, incompetence and woefully inadequate communication skills will hopefully see them kicked out of Australia as they were out of England.
