Issue with pausing live TV
Contacted Humax as my Freeview box had developed a problem if I tried to pause or rewind live TV.
I didn't have to wait long for a response from Marcus who gave me a comprehensive list of instructions of what to try first and, if that didn't work, second.
Pleased to say that the first solution worked a treat and I can now pause and rewind live TV again. Hurrah!
Bad technology
We bought a HUMAX Aura 2 years ago and basically it’s the biggest load of cr@p, it reboots when it feels like it, we get a shadow across the bottom third of the screen. Don’t touch HUMAX they’re expensive over priced rubbish.

Humax FHR-6000T 2TB…USELESS
I bought a brand new umax FHR-6000T 2TB Freely PVR Recordable Set Top Box. It's rubbish.. the software is very buggy. It doesn't record properly, the interface is awful, it keeps freezing while watching streaming channels (my firestick works perfectly). If you mistakenly hit the standby button a bit too long it turns the device off and you loose ALL of your settings, scheduled recordings, channel logins, all programming...
I would send it back but I bought it and didn't connect it up for a few weeks due to being in hospital . I am now outside the return policy for the store and I can see hundreds of other users with the same issues so so can't see how Humax can help. It's a dud... don't buy it.
Postscript.
Humax have been in touch and offered a replacement and support. So it seems other reports that praise the service ethic are accurate. However having read lots of other reviews of this product I can't see how this will help as they are all experiencing similar issues.i just want to be able to use a product that delivers what it promises not spend time applying fixes, upgrading, fault finding and swapping devices. I think this product has been released to market fast too early.

Great Customer Service
I had a problem with our almost 2year old Humax Aura. Poor signal, recorded programmes stopping and pixelating pictures. I emailed Humax and after a few details were exchanged, I was sent a return label and the Aura was sent to Humax.
A couple of days later, I received a replacement box. After installation, I had a problem with the new box and asked Humax for help again.
They immediately got back and suggested a reset.
This did not work. Next they wanted me to try a new HDMI lead and this worked great.
I can't fault their customer service.
They were very patient with me and were very quick to reply to my emails.
Quick and Easy Purchasing Process
Purchased an AuraEZ through the Humax online store. There was a full description available on the site which covered all my queries about the product. The process was straightforward and quick and the price was good. The Aura arrived the next day which was excellent. Overall a pleasant purchasing experience.

I had a problem with my Humax recorder. I looked online for a fix which didn’t work. Emailed Humax and Marcus was so helpful. His first suggestion didn’t work so emailed again. Marcus got back straight away and the second fix he suggested worked. First class service with quick responses. Very happy customer.
AuroraEZ 4K , poor product , decent aftersales
Bought the AuroraEZ 4K . The product is awful and does not deliver anywhere near what the company claims in it's advertising. A decent enough idea but very poorly implemented.

I had it unboxed for about half an hour and tested, before it was repackaged for return
On the return side it was fairly painless ... emailed Humax - received returns number - posted it back at The Post Office. Although I have been informed my refund has been authorized I have not yet received the funds, but Humax have been pretty decent to deal with so far so I have no reason to doubt that they have done what they said they would and I should see the money i a few days ... tbc
Their communications via email have been professional and timely, although I did have to ask them if they had received the box back
So overall a fairly painless process, will have taken about 4 weeks from ordering - receiving - returning - refund ... if the refund arrives in the next few days as I have been informed

I had problems recording on my Humax Aura box.
I contacted Humax and received a very prompt response with help and advice on how to fix the problem.
Sadly these did not work and I was sent a new box which is now working.

Product very poor chose Humax because we have two other Freeview PVRs, one of which is sadly on its last legs. Sadly I can't recommend this as a Freeview recorder. The Freely functionality is fine and works well with our home broadband. However, the software is so biased towards Freely use that the Freeview side is pretty much an afterthought. Setting a recording is very cumbersome as you can't jump to particular dates or channels in the Freeview EPG. You can set a series link for a recording but series aren't shown as such in the display of recorded programmes, they just display in the order they were recorded or alphabetically. If you can find the first program in a series amongst the jumble of recordings the next episode isn't offered for playback, despite there being a settings switch to allow this. The next thing to be recorded is played whether it's part of the series or not. There are multiple tuners allowing several things to be recorded at once. . I know this is a new device and this is just the first iteration of the firmware and software but, as it stands, it's just too frustrating to use for Freeview. Save £20 and buy the Manhattan T4-R box.

I ordered a new remote with arrived promptly. But the problem is this is the 3rd one I have had to replace as they just don't last.

Pauline contacted me from Humax Support asking if I now was able to complete the reset of my Humax FVP-5000T 'set top' Freeview recorder.
I did indeed get an unexpected 'pop up' asking me to complete terms and conditions and, on this attempt, the usual menu tab populated and both 'check boxes' became available.
If it was a service issue corrected at their end by 'remote repair' then I thank Humax very much indeed.
I've been uncharacteristically unwell and, on bad days, do rely on my Freeview, recordings and Apps to distract me so I really do thank you very much Pauline.
I shall remember your excellent service and support next time I buy or recommend such devices (that has been a very reliable product thus far).
