My husband bought a MSI laptop from Overclockers UK. Sometimes it works fine but other times, it doesn’t even turn on. He has emailed them in regards to his warranty but they have completely ignored him.
Poor service and poor product.
Another dreadful experience with MSI
Another dreadful experience with MSI, this time with the Optix MAG 27'' monitor. The monitor developed a black gradient covering half of the screen.
Apparently, it’s impossible to repair because the replacement part costs more than the monitor itself.
I’ve never had a monitor break on me before. This one failed after only three years, while I have monitors that cost half as much and are still working perfectly after years of continuous use.
Truly disappointing.
Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Good quality laptop
Good quality laptop, powerful and amazing graphics
I bought an MSI B550 mother board and…
I bought an MSI B550 mother board and have RGB lighting. The motherboard has been fine but the software Dragon centre Installs somthing called cFos which is sopposed to speed up your internet and does exactly the opposite its garbage. With cFos running I am lucky to get 200mb and once removed I get 800mb. They need to remove cFos its garbage. Just and addition I found some software called open RGB which can be used instead of dragon centre for the lighting without the annoting CFOS
I bought monitor MSI in Argos shop
I bought monitor MSI in Argos shop. My monitor had a screen fault.
Argos don’t want to take back and give me money back for that fault.
I contacted to MSI company with problem help me Karen Jones Customer Service Advisor.
I’m so happy for that great job.
MSI service 10/10.
I think that’s why MSI company best of the best.
Thank you very much
..seems to be very good.
The MSI business seems to be very good. My experience is with a laptop that I needed on the first occasion to have a replacement SSD, and although it was a originally a cheap 500GB one - they replaced it with an upgrade Phison 1TB.
On the second occasion I had a thermal concern with the CPU and they checked it over and sorted it. Btw, plugging a laptop cooler in via USB also doesn't help with CPU resources.
The email support is very good although a little long winded asking for so many details.
The support forums are also good.
They seem to have stopped supporting my laptop now with software & firmware updates on their website (the laptop is about 4 years old) - which is a little worrying.
BAD Laptops, don't buy
I have loved msi for years as a company, but the laptops........questionable. Purchased the Cyborg 15 A12V in March. It has spent more time in the repair centre than my own hands, So far I have had a full replacement due to performance issues, 2nd laptop i got a nice Samsung 990 nvme upgrade to 1Tb and under medium load 95 degree's, I send it off for repair, low and behold, the track pad has not even be tightened properly and it's sinking half way into the laptop. I have now realised that msi have clearly fallen from once the well established company that provided quality products for a reasonable price, to a company that focuses on profit and how much they can duck and dodge their customers. I think it's time a new competitor enters the market and puts them out to pastor as they have been good for years but have become far to greedy and complacent. Don't take my word for it, go read the reviews, I wish I saw the reviews before buying. Live and learn.
Overpriced Junk with faulty screens
I purchased a 3k MSI Laptop. After a couple of months I notices hairline cracks in the screen. The laptop had not moved from my deck or received any kind of impact. Contact MSI who at first refused to cover the issue under warranty. After completing and providing proof that this was a commonly reported issue with the model of laptop, they agreed to replace the screen free of charge. Two month after receiving the laptop back I notice hairline cracks appearing again. I contacted MSI again ti be told the laptop is now out of warranty and I would have to pay to replace screen. I will be taking them to court.
Tech Support were a big help with my motherboard
Due to an oversight on my part, the motherboard I had bought alongside my cpu was not compatible without a bios update. After emailing around a few other companies, trying to find the answer, the tech support group at MSI offered to update the motherboard manually, even covering the return postage. Thanks to their efforts, my pc works completely fine!
I don’t know what is going on with MSI…
I don’t know what is going on with MSI before was working laptops perfectly and now the latest laptops with 4090 keeps breaking with windows updates and always shows profile can’t sign in, internet connection disconnects always, second laptop raider ge78hx 13 vi same problems once you do couple updates, comparing to gigabyte laptops for £1000 has much better perfomance with out issues, been sending to repairs and they did nothing, got replacement same story horrible I don’t trust this no more like before, creator and thin was good option but now MSI is a total joke, knows only how to rip off people, if you don’t plan to take on finance don’t even buy don’t expect replacement with out finance you will lose £4k into water, first they sent faulty laptop with no working keyboard and after 5 months of trying to repair in different countries have been failed, today got replacement brand new and it’s not worth the money and time I spend fighting with them, not even compensation for the nerves I spent and time, total waste, I don’t want anyone to experience what I had to experience with them, they will tell you they will fix but then they sent even worst condition
Shocking positive experience
Thank you immensely for your assistance. It was challenging to find the spare part, despite that, you sent it to me in a very short timeframe. This is undoubtedly the epitome of exceptional customer service
Battery Issues
Battery issues with MSI seem to be a recurring problem based upon many reviews. I certainly regret purchasing this machine.
My battery condition is average at 19% so doesn't need replacing. Unless I plug my laptop in to start up - beats the purpose of my lap top - then 15 seconds after I log in my battery goes from whatever charge (right the way to 75%) to zero and requires recharging.
If I let it switch off so I can charge, then the charging effectively starts at 50% with an hour to full charge.
What a terrible product. Do not buy.
Terrible warranty service that leaves you worse off!
Terrible warranty service that somehow leaves you worse off than when you sent your product in, with no help from their customer service who don't understand how warranties or consumer rights work - not set up to help you nor care about you as a consumer - seriously AVOID!
My GE76 Raider Laptop (£2.5k+) had a graphical issue that I had sent to repair tech to be fixed before the 27 month warranty expired.
First time they replaced the mainboard but the graphical glitch remained.
Second time and they replaced my entire monitor panel with a new one that has some of the worst example of backlight bleed I've ever seen in my 20+ years of computer use. They also did not reassemble my laptop back together properly with my power cable not fully connected and WIFI antennas not connected which forced me to fix myself after spending an entire day of trying to troubleshoot assuming driver issues.
Third time, I emailed and asked for a replacement instead of a repair and was assured (I emailed to double check) that an alternative to a repair should be possible once RepairTech confirm the issues. I sent my laptop off in good confidence, I mean issues with repairs happen sometimes?
A good few weeks passed and I had no news of a replacement offer and after emailing them they informed me that my laptop went outside warranty and they could not offer a replacement because of this, I had to explain that the fault from when the first claim was raised was not fixed so how is not no longer in warranty - they eventually conceded after arguing back and forth.
I've now been offered a replacement laptop that has worse specs and is from a budget range with a smaller screen with half the refresh rate of what I sent and its 'all they can offer due to stock' and it's a 'goodwill gesture' or I can have my old laptop back which is now fixed by their top agent by using an MSI restore point and using windows update which is something they already completed on the first repair and I've done myself 2 times (it actually asks you to try this yourself before raising a warranty claim - Any tech minded person will try this surely??). Also during my communications they mention nothing of the screen being replaced which I mentioned multiple times to them!!
I am over 90 days without use of my laptop now with no resolution in sight... Would not recommend MSI to anyone.
Won't buy MSI products again.
After this experience, I am now done with MSI.
The laptops right hinge broke and the battery died within days of each other, so I contacted MSI asking to see what my options were. During a phone call I was informed the hinge could be repaired under warranty, and that the battery would not be covered as it is only a 12 month warranty, I looked on the site and confirmed that my warranty was for 24 months (+ 3 additional months due to completing the questionnaire).
I said that if the battery wasn't under warranty, then I wouldn't be interested, as it would be faster and cheaper to replace the battery myself. I was then advised to contact Customer Support to get clarification on if the battery was covered, as they would know better.
I explained the situation to Customer Support over the phone, reiterating that me sending in my laptop was dependent on whether or not the battery was covered. I was then then told that the battery was covered under the 24 month warranty, and I would not be charged.
I proceeded to send in the laptop only to be emailed 2 weeks later that the battery was not included, and the repair would cost £115, almost three times as much what I would need to pay externally.
When I then contacted both Tech Repair and Customer Support to query this, I was told it would be looked into.
I then received an email telling me that after an investigation, the battery was still not covered, and that there was no evidence of "our agent" stating that the battery was covered for 24 months. I was then offered 10% discount, which would by no means even be close to bringing the cost near what can be sourced externally. Something of which wouldn't suprise me if known.
I proceeded to give the date and time of which the call took place, as well as requested a copy of that phone conversation for clarifcation.
Now suddenly there is evidence of me being told the battery was covered for 24 months, and suddenly "our agent" is now "our rookie customer service representative". So minimising the employees "title" and significance within the company surely makes this more forgiving, right?
The discount was then increased from 10% to 20%, which once again doesn't even come close to other cheaper and faster sources.
So I was outright lied to in regards to there being no evidence that I was given the wrong information, and then all of a sudden the discount is able to increase.
I confirmed I understood the sitation, explained again how the information I was given was the signifcant deciding factor in whether or not I sent my laptop in for repair, reinforced the point that the discount offered comes nowhere near what I could pay, and then for the second time asked for a copy of the phone recording.
It was then confirmed that the hinge would still be repaired, I was given this email in order to forward my complain, and for the second time my request for a copy of the phone conversation was ignored.
My grievances are as follows:
1. A Laptop that costs over £2000, after just over a year, has its hinge break, and battery die. A Laptops defining feature is that it can be used on the move, yet I am told the thing that makes it do this, the battery, is considered an accessory. Something of which if it did not have, would mean the Laptop is unable to be used for its intended purpose.
2. As for the hinge, since its breakage, I have become aware that this is a massively reoccurring problem amongst MSI laptops, which doesn't really help matters.
3. I was given the wrong information, then lied to and told that there was no evidence of this, only then to see the discount increase, not because the information was wrong, but because MSI was caught lying. That was the only change in circumstance.
4. The request for a copy of the phone conversation, the evidence, has been ignored twice.
They don't want to take defective…
They don't want to take defective product back. Awful customer service kill our brains.

MSI to the rescue!
Had some real trouble with installing a new SSD card and updating/downloading various softwares and drivers. The customer service team at MSI helped me immensely. I can't express how impressed and happy I am with the time they gave and patience they showed me. Love my gaming laptop, and very happy with the company behind the equipment! Thanks guys.
Great customer service
Had a problem with a key on my son's keyboard. After a quick email to customer service a replacement was quickly posted out. Great service. Thanks.
MSI customer service is a nightmare. They overcharged me and damaged my laptop.
MSI customer service is a scam. They ripped me off and ruined my laptop. They charged me £208.22 for replacing the screen back cover, which was broken, but they told me over the phone that it would be only £150. They also told me over the phone that if I changed my mind and wanted them to send me my laptop without fixing it, they would charge me £45, but then they emailed me that it would be £80.40. They also scratched my trackpad and my bottom cover when they repaired the screen back cover and they agreed in an email to replace them for free, based on my explanation that it might have happened in postage when I sent the laptop for the first time to them or by their third party fixing company. But then they changed their mind and said that I had to pay extra money to fix them. They did not reply to my email after that and they sent me back my laptop without fixing anything. They also replaced the trackpad with a grey colour one, which did not match the black colour of my laptop. This looks very ugly and unprofessional. They did not honour their agreement and they ignored my email. They are liars and cheats. They do not care about their customers or their products. They only care about making money and exploiting people. They are the worst customer service ever. Do not buy anything from them or trust them with your laptop. You will regret it. They deserve to be sued and shut down. Stay away from them.
