When branches are getting out of reach of regular loppers, the power of this make trimming them down much easier. It is a bit unwieldy when used at an angle but that's to be expected

This tool does what's needed when you can get where you want. It is overweight making it difficult to control overhead even when using the strap

Very good, as you can clip high growing trees from the ground. The only criticism is it is Heavy, which a man may not have a problem with, but myself as a women who loves to be able to garden independently I would preferred there to be much lighter version on the market!
This is a great tool for getting through saplings and tree branches. The rotational head is a real bonus. It’s HEAVY! Extended we use two people. One to hold the weight and the other to guide the cutting point onto the tree. I’m 60 but quite strong and I think anyone frail should avoid it.
It doesn't cut cleanly, leaving part of the branch still attached. A bit slow, and quite heavy.

Works well, very heavy when extended, only purchased once it was discounted, otherwise expensive.

Replacement for previous model that expired after 30 months. As ever, very good but still expensive even with a 10%discount
Reduces the need for a ladder. A really useful tool for cutting high branches from ground level.
Very good tool
The pruner works very well. The only reason I gave it four stars for performance is that it's a bit on the slow side, which means holding it up for longer while it does its thing. There was no option for 4.5. I asked if other heads and an extension pole were available, but was told they were not available in the UK. Please Ryobi have a rethink.
Found it top heavy but dose good job
This tree branch looper is very heavy to us for long periods does a good job but for older folk it’s to much I bought the harness to go with it but that in near useless the base of pole kept falling out of the harness as it it only 3 sided and your on the move all the time I had no chance of keeping it in the harness holder I eventually got mist done but they need to reduce the weight of this.pole pruner I love Ryobi but not for this item back to the drawing board please
Easy to use, good quality.
Not a lot!!

Easy to use and extends so that higher branches are accessible.
I have tried quite a few pole pruners over the years. The usual problems are aligning the pruner with the branch you want to cut and the amount of effort required to cut it. This one is easy to align even in a thick hedge and, being electric, requires zero effort. It also makes a nice clean cut. . The jaws fully opened measure about 5mm less than the stated maximum cut and less than my manual pruner, but having said that so far I am quite happy with my purchase.
Nice bit of kit, works well on the branches within its bite, quite head heavy but thats to be expected with the motor, thats said it wasn't a real problem when used with a long arm I saved myself quite a bit of cash doing the tree myself ... so yes recommended
Brilliant piece of kit not too heavy and does what it is supposed to do just by pressing the trigger, no physical effort.
This was another addition to my Ryobi tool selection. I have built the selection over a few years and have found quality to be good. The pruner works well and if you can get the branch into the cutter jaws, it will cut through. It is heavy, but will be so with the required cutting head extended at the end of the pole. There is a simple strap to assist included with the tool, but I bought the harness, which I have to say was a disappointing waste of money. I think that Ryobi have missed an opportunity of having the 'pole' range of pruner, hedge trimmer, saw, etc. more universal with any head mounted to a common pole, to save significant money. If I need the pole hedge trimmer for example, I have to buy the pole, handle, battery and switch, etc. all over again.
