Ryobi failed to send the correct item so a month on from the order being placed, still don’t have the HP circular saw. Really poor service - entirely Ryobi’s error and seems it’s out of stock. Who knows when it will arrive?!

Swapped my 150mm for this one as the former lacked power. This one glides through. Though I do wish they would make the guide wider than the body/battery so the clamps on your straight edge wouldn’t get in the way when clamping a straight edge from the left.

The problem I have with all Ryobi tools that I bought is the manuals. It reminds me of 1970s when we had to translate the supposedly English text written by Chinese documentation Engineers into English. They were horrible times. Now Ryobi uses diagrams instead of words in the manuals. And it is difficult to understand what the idiot who drew them are trying to describe. Fortunately, now we have YouTube where good people describe how these machines work.

I bought this saw to do a job at a friend’s house, whilst staying with them - I’d often thought of buying a battery powered circular saw for home. Compared to my trusty old wired saw this Ryobi tool worked well, but is clearly not as powerful. I was cutting only 70x42 mm softwood and the speed audibly slowed as the blade was mid-centre. In fairness, I was using it with a 4.0Ah battery (offered free with the purchase of the saw). I’ll see how it does with my 5.0Ah battery when I get home. Did the job though and I really needed the portability.
