The heavy duty blade is disappointing. When assembled into the wheeled base the operating noise level is unacceptable. We have reverted to using the strimmer fitted into the wheeled base.

Prefer to cord system but plastic blades do wear quite quickly and can break off if you hit a stone or similar. Easily changed though and if looked on as a replaceable accessory such as a razor blade or sandpaper it is a useful way of trimming grass and other weeds

Much better than the chord style, which break too easily. These are essential for thicker denser gardens, such as overgrowth or weeds. But note they wear through (hence there are about 5 pairs in the kit). Tore through a pair in half an hour trimming a heavily overgrown garden. But consider them consumable and that's fine.
