If you’ve dreamed of Africa, we’ll help you follow your dreams… Whether you’ve imagined drifting in a dugout along the snaky blue channels of the Okavango Delta, saluted by elephants; climbing pyramids of red sand at Namibia’s Sossusvlei, or being awestruck by waves of buffalo, elephant, and other plains game across Hwange’s golden grasslands; sleeping under the explosively starry African sky or countless other experiences, many yet to imagine – we can take you there. We’ll send you on carefully curated, life-changing journeys, elevating your life as well as the wildernesses, wildlife, and communities you encounter. As a unique not-for-profit private concierge agency, we offer high-end adventures throughout Southern and East Africa, each tailor-made for you, the journey’s hero. Honouring our name, ‘UKAMA’, the majority of our profits revert back to conservation and community upliftment, through ecotourism engaging local communities as caretakers of their environment. In the Shona language, UKAMA means ‘to be in relationship with’ – with other people, with wild creatures, with nature. It means solidarity between the past (our ancestors), the present (ourselves), the future (our children). It means conserving the planet and all life upon it for future generations. Travel with us, with our customised ‘map’, as far away from life as you know it, to some of the last great wildernesses on earth. Yet feel more connected – to others, to wildlife, to the natural world, to yourself – than you dreamed possible.

Excellent trip to Rwanda!

Ukama were great at organising an amazing trip for us in Rwanda! Thousand Hills were our tour company on the ground and Emmy our guide was excellent. I'd throughly recommend a trip to Rwanda for safari and to see the gorillas, just make sure you ask for your guide to be Emmy - he is the best!!

Scott, Samantha, and the team at Ukama Travel Society created and implemented five unforgettable itineraries for us throughout Africa to Rwanda (3 times), Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Namibia in 2021-2023, including stays at Wilderness, Singita, One&Only, and other incredible lodges. Each experience has been unforgettable thanks to their efforts and that of their talented partners. We highly recommend entrusting with Ukama with your plans, and look forward to more incredible adventures through them. Thank you!

Jordan Bennett and Ukama Travel Society provided me with the trip of a lifetime

Jordan Bennett of Ukama provided us with a truly once in a lifetime experience for my first African adventure. From the time we landed in Nairobi until 12 days later when we took off, we were expertly guided and taken care of wherever we went. Sabinyo Silverback Lodge is an incredibly beautiful spot to stay while trekking to visit the mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Once again, our hosts, guides and trekkers were extremely professional and took excellent care of us. The accommodations, food, service all quite wonderful. Hemingways in Nairobi is a throw back to another time. Quite graceful with lovely accommodations, wonderful food and terrific service. Our stay at Little Governor's on the Masai Mara was life changing. It exceeded every expectation I had. Our safari driver/guide, Moses, was unbelievably knowledgeable. His enthusiasm for the animals, the Masai and the Mara itself is inspirational. Again, the accommodations were top notch as was the food and service. This was my first trip to Africa but definitely not my last. I highly recommend Wilderness Safaris and Ukama Travel Society.

Thank you, Jordan, Ukama Travel Society, Wilderness Safaris, Governors Camps, Sabinyo Silverback Lodge, Hemingways, Little Governors...and most of all the beautiful, welcoming people of Rwanda and Kenya.

Magical Gorilla Trek, a Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience

My mother and I had a wonderful experience working with Jordan Bennett to plan an absolutely incredible trek to see the majestic mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Every aspect of the process was made fun by Jordan who is knowledgeable and personable. She took special care to advise on the necessary vaccinations, flight scenarios, lodging, park permit fees, and even what to pack. She was an invaluable resource throughout and her support helped us enjoy one of the most magical experiences of our lives.
