Initial dealings with John and UKSW was very good, fast response and the watch was in very good condition.
The problems started when I wanted to return the watch, I have 14 days to return the watch, this is even stated on their website. I liked the watch but didn't love it, I told John I was happy to keep the watch but I would be looking to move the watch on. The day after thought why am I trying to move the watch on myself when I am entitled to a refund as it was an unseen sale.
I contacted John again to say I wanted to return the watch to which he said I couldn't because I had accepted the watch, we ended up going round in circles and I contacted Citizens Advice who told me I was in the right and rightfully due a full refund, John still wouldn't accept this. Trying to get a formal letter to John proved even harder still, look up the company yourself and you will find several addresses. I ended up finding John's old address and was contacted by the current person who was living their who had been receiving my letters, she informed me that I'm not the first person who had been trying to track John down. I spoke to Citizens Advice several times who forwarded it all onto trading standards, i hope they take the appropriate action to stop things like this happening again.
After that I just sort of gave up, John blocked my email address and I couldn't find his home address, luckily someone gave me good trade in money on the watch and I got myself out of the situation.
You always judge a company by their aftercare and in this situation it was absolutely appalling. The stress of this on top of my wife being heavily pregnant was a lot to take. I would never recommend them after how I was treated.
Also just to add, the company has used multiple company addresses in Manchester and Wales, sometimes changing every few months. He uses a different name to his own on Facebook and his accounts are also overdue. John seems to now live overseas, amazing what you can find out on the Internet and from talking to other people. I've not really heard a good word said, going back to not selling cars as described years and years ago.
So thank you John for causing a great deal of unnecessary stress in my life at an already stressful time in my life.
