Very poor client service
My experience with Unibuddy is very bad. Their client service is a mess - to give you an idea, in a single year we've had 3 different account managers and every time a new one came along we had to meet with them and recap all the points in our contract, the issues, etc. We kept on repeating ourselves. They take forever to reply to our mails, even if it's a simple thing, no feedback whatsoever on the progress of the request, nothing.

Great live event platform
My institution has been using Unibuddy for the past year for virtual events and peer to peer engagement and I am very impressed by the platform. It is extremely user friendly and has fantastic functionality for Live Chats and presentations during virtual events. The UniBuddy team could not be more helpful with any enquiries and we have had really positive feedback from attendees.
Student recruitment events
We used the Unibuddy platform for recruitment events which worked really well. We are able to work collaboratively, have a live presentation where you could see the slides and the presenters too. It was really user friendly!

Over the last year, we've seen real value being provided to prospective students through the Unibuddy platform and have been able to share the student experience in the most authentic way. Student Side
UniBuddy has helped our team build a stronger relationship with prospective students in the reality of this new virtual world. Prospective applicants are eager to get to know the campus, which is not easy in the current virtual setting, so having current students as buddies has provided for a chance to do just that. Prospective applicants are curious about the programs and the student spaces, so the ability to hear about the experiences from current students on UniBuddy offers an insight into what the school may "feel" like to them too. We have definitely seen a great increase in the amount of interactions and genuine conversations as well.
Staff Messaging Feature
The staff feature has become very useful tool in our office. It allows for students who have quick questions to get quick answers without having to wait 24hr for an email response. In addition, the interactions are a lot less formal, which may be the preferred “feel” for most high school students.
Staff/Management Feature
As someone who manages a team of 120+ student buddies, I find the management side of things very easy. I am able to see when the students get messages and if any go unanswered for more than the desired amount of time. I am able to message my buddies and message our prospects either individually or through a “group” blast, which sends individual messages to a group of students so creates way less work for me. There are certainly a lot more features that are still in the works, so I am looking forward to growing with UniBuddy and testing more of their ideas.
Customer Service
They may be tired of my questions, but they certainly do not show it. UniBuddy humans have been rock stars from the very start. Amy has been with us from the very first days and is always great! Super responsive to our questions and always willing to offer help when we need it. On the technical side, our own CMS is sadly not the greatest and has a lot of limitations, so there was a lot of back and forth to try and get everything situated on our end – Colin has had the patience of a saint with all of it, which is highly appreciated! Anyone on their team is always ready to help and respond within a few hours.

Unibuddy has been critical to our ability to recruit and yield highly qualified applicants. In this new virtual environment we find ourselves in, Cornell Tech has leveraged the Live Events feature to simultaneously showcase multiple departments to hundreds of students during our admitted student and orientation events.
Whatsmore, their customer service is outstanding. I've never had to wait more than 24 hours to get a response.
