Excellent service

Excellent service! I misspelt a domain name that I bought and they corrected it for me. Very professional and slick operation. Love the 1 time fee concept (unlike ENS).

Disruptive Evolution.

I have not experiences any of the issues in previous bad reviews. I bought 2 domains and claimed them without having to pay Eth gas fees so the layer 2 obviously works as intended.
Give this new niche market time to evolve guys. Disruptive evolution of current centralised and monopolised system takes time.
Patience is almost always rewarded, Rome was not built in a day.

Excellent

All the negative reviews are from people trying to flip domains for a quick profit. UD is not about making fast money, it is about building part of the future decentralised internet

Soo far soo good

Soo far soo good. It would be great if these could work on google and have visibility but I understand that web3 adoption takes some time.

But with L2 being implemented things are looking great.

.x and .wallet are really cool domain tlds.

I have typed some domain names into coinbase wallet and coinbase the app and sometimes it does not seem to read the addresses to send payments instantly might change after claiming.

Many of the negative reviews are because they added new tlds and other users are salty as they feel .crypto loses its value as a domain/wallet for resell.

money pit…

I spent $20 buying the name from unstoppable demands, then I spent $40 to Ethereum for claiming the name. Then I spent another $40 to Ethereum to load my addresses then you have to build a website and pay even more Ethereum to load the website and anytime you wanna make a change you have to pay Ethereum more. So I’m $100 in and I have nothing useful and I’m not going to put any more into this sham

Hi, just to clarify, the gas fees are paid to the Ethereum network and we do not benefit from it. Claiming publishes a domain to the Ethereum network and every time you manage the domain the new data is published to the network as well. That is why you need ETH to cover the gas fees.

On November 15 we will deploy the first phase of our L2 solution which will allow us to cover the claiming fees. On November 29, the second phase will be ready which allows us to cover the gas fees when managing domains. On the later deployments you will be able to transfer the domain from Ethereum to L2 and we will cover any gas fees when managing your domain on L2.

To read more about the deployment phases please follow this guide: https://support.unstoppabledomains.com/support/solutions/articles/48001200584-learn-more-about-our-l2-scaling-solution-and-what-it-means-for-you

So many protected names

So many protected names, which they state reserved for the original brands, well it isn't decentralised web then is it? Doesn't align with your marketed philosophies. What is the exact date layer 2 implemented? Please do not reply with pasted email our support response.

Hi, thank you for reaching out and sharing your thoughts. Onboarding the existing internet onto the decentralized web is important to spur mainstream adoption, so we want to give everyone a chance of owning their respective domain names.

We’ve determined that it’s best for UD and for our customers to protect domains for two primary reasons:

1. Browsers will not want to support a registry where brand owners aren’t protected

2. To avoid potential disputes from brands directed at UD and UD customers

As for L2, on November 15 the first phase of the Layer 2 solution will become available and we will cover the gas fees for claiming.

Harming the crypto industry

This company is harming the crypto industry immensely. I bought a domain for 20 USD and in the end I've spent 170 USD to have it claimed, email address added etc. What a waste of human integrity. No wonder people ask for regulatory intervention.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply.

The claiming fee (or gas fee) is paid to the Ethereum network to publish the domain to the blockchain. We do not benefit from the claiming fee in any way. The gas fees fluctuate continuously since the Ethereum network does get congested.

We are currently working on releasing our Layer 2 solution which will allow us to cover the claiming fee on your behalf.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused.

I am warning you against associating yourself with anyone involved

The Government declared "corporations are people do," but I am not going to use this platform to be libelous. I never really transacted on the website, but I would advise anyone with the slightest hint of aversion to risk to run for the hills. If you have the time, document everything in a way that it would be admissible in court (hashes for digital photos so the judge will realize they haven't been manipulated, etc). People need to eat and to turn their hard-earned money into profit is disgusting.

Turned out to be a waste of time.

I note many of the reviews here are complaining about the number of extensions that are now for sale, originally it was just .crypto and .zil. - and now there are basically a ton of em. I'd have to concede now this is a bit of a con. Initially it all looked like a good idea, but overtime it proved to be a waste of time. I bought 2 .crypto names and after loads of faffing about I managed to get up 2 websites - but these have never worked properly and even now regularly fail to load up. To be honest, I just let it go, I don't expect them to ever really come to anything. I lost 80$. I still get regular emails asking to buy new product. Not much chance of that happening.

Hello, as you may know, the high gas fees are due to the congestion of the Ethereum network at times. We will be releasing our Layer 2 later in the year. Please follow our Twitter account or join our Telegram group to stay up to date with the progress of L2. We will be making an announcement regarding the matter on October 21st.

As for the new TLDs, it is important for us to reiterate that our goal is to onboard the masses onto Web3, the new decentralized internet. Our vision is for our domains to act as a portable ID for the DWeb where users have full control over their data online. We believe that having more TLDs available gives more people a chance to reap the future benefits of this grander vision.
