My Experience at the University of the People – MBA Program
Pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration at the University of the People (UoPeople) was a transformative and enriching journey. The online format was both flexible and rigorous, allowing me to balance my studies with professional responsibilities and community service. I appreciated how the program was structured around real-world applications of business theory, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking, ethical leadership, and cross-cultural management.
One of the most rewarding aspects was the global classroom. I had the opportunity to interact with classmates from all over the world, which significantly broadened my perspectives on business challenges and solutions. This diversity enhanced my understanding of global markets and prepared me to work in multicultural environments, which is especially important in today’s interconnected world.
The peer-to-peer learning model helped build my communication and collaboration skills, while the challenging coursework—ranging from strategic management to operations, marketing, and organizational behavior—gave me a solid foundation for leadership roles in agribusiness. The capstone project allowed me to apply everything I had learned by addressing real challenges within my own agribusiness, Njabini Youth Fortune Agribusiness Solutions Ltd.
Studying at UoPeople also instilled in me a deep sense of discipline, time management, and self-motivation. The support from instructors, program advisors, and fellow students was encouraging, and the emphasis on ethical leadership and sustainability aligned with my values and career goals.
Overall, my MBA journey at UoPeople empowered me with the skills, knowledge, and global mindset to lead and innovate in the agribusiness sector in Kenya and beyond.

Free tuition, on-the-go learning, and scholarship opportunities that make it easier to learn at one's own pace, and afford education with ease.
Most importantly, US accreditation, and recently the regional accreditation.

UoPeople just received Regional Accreditation which makes this university much more appealing. Tuition is completely free aside from an assessment fee per course, which you pay towards the end of each semester (I paid $240 for my last course, part of the MBA program) making this a very affordable option for those looking to advance their education without getting into debt. I highly recommend UoPeople

Studying business online at the University of the People has been a really positive experience for me as a Filipino. What I liked from the start was that they make good education available to everyone online, so it doesn't matter where you live or if you have a lot of money. What I've found is a lively and helpful online learning space that has really helped me understand the world of business from a global point of view, all while studying here in the Philippines.
The classes are well-organized. They teach you the important basics of business but also go into more specific topics. I especially liked that we didn't just read about business ideas; we also looked at real business situations and tried to figure out solutions online. For example, in my management class, we looked at actual business problems and came up with plans, which helped me understand how to lead and how businesses work around the world.
One of the best parts has been meeting and working with students online from all over the world. When we did group projects online, everyone had different ideas and ways of seeing things. This not only made me better at working with people online and communicating, but it also showed me how business works in different countries, which is really important as a Filipino in today's connected world.
The teachers are really helpful and easy to reach online. We also have online discussion groups where we can talk about what we're learning with other students from different places and ask the teachers questions. We also grade each other's work online, which at first I thought was just okay, but it actually helped me think more carefully and understand the material better. By looking at other people's work and getting feedback on mine online, I learned a lot and got different international perspectives.
Studying online means you need to be focused, but it also lets you study when it fits your life here in the Philippines. The UoPeople website is easy to use and has everything you need for your classes online. Even though you're studying from home, the other students online and the way the courses are set up help you stay interested and motivated.
Overall, my time studying business online at the University of the People as a Filipino has helped me grow a lot and learn so much about business in a global way. I feel much more confident about understanding business ideas and being able to do well in this field, both here in the Philippines and internationally. UoPeople isn't just giving me an education online, it's connecting me with people from all over the world and helping me reach my career goals in our digital age.
