Unethical and Deceptive Upsell Practice AVOID THIS PLACE

I booked a rental to pick up from Orlando, FL international airport. Their shuttle bus from the airport was supposed to be every 30 minutes but unless you call the office phone number, they may not come to pick you up. We arrived at the airport around 9 PM.

After getting to the car pick up, we found out how much of a slithering lying business practice tactics they like to follow. They want to upsell everything from EZ pass daily charge to forcing you to buy their insurance so that they can make more money.

I had a comprehensive personal car insurance and I’ve rented multiple times from other well known rental companies such as Enterprise, AVIS, Budget but this company is cunning. They attempted to do everything to make me purchase their own insurance.

Then they even made comments how I shouldn’t be surprised if a charge shows up after rental drop off because of dents. That immediately made me realize they will overcharge you with more lies even if you didn’t damage the car. Just because you didn’t buy extra insurance from them.

Avoid this place at all cost if you can. The customer service is definitely horrible and the place is a dirty like a junkyard. The employees are unethical. With simple google search I found how horrible the other reviews for the company is. Not worth your time and money getting into hassle dealing with Easirent.

The Car Was Filthy

I rented a Nissan Sentra
I rented a Nissan Sentra. The car ran fine, it was a newer model, but I received the car dirty. They had taken a hose to wet the car, to at first appear like it had just been ran through a car wash, however the water didn't cover all of the car and dried with spots. Iwish I could say I noticed how dirty it was right away, but I didn't until I had driven it home. The interior was just as dirty as the exterior with fingerprints on the screen. I rented the car a day before my trip. Thank God, I did. I sanitized and cleaned the exterior and the interior and found a face mask and a pair of glasses from a previous renter. I spent over $420 to rent this car. I spent another $30 to throughly clean it myself. In this day and age of COVID-19, I find this lack of cleanliness...a lack of care for their customers' wellbeing. I traveled with my wife, who has health issues. Traveling in a dirty car that had been driven by strangers, was not an option. I spent my time and money on something that should be apart of this companies day to day operations. When I explained how the car was give to me, I was blown off by the representatives, via phone and in person. I will never use this company again. I'm appalled by their practices.

DO NOT RENT HERE

Would give this place a zero if possible. Absolute WORST car rental experience ever. The car wreaked of weed and cigarette smoke, totally disgusting. The car was clearly not maintained as the check engine light was on as well as the tire pressure light even though the tires seemed fine. Luckily my mom dropped me off at the airport before returning the care as her flight was a little later because I would’ve missed the flight. The shuttle takes forever and the wait to pick up the car was very long. People were not friendly. Shouldn’t have to sign something that I can’t even read or be charged for things I don’t need to use. AWFUL all around.

Worst rental car place ever!!!

If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. Arrived at Tampa at 8:30, started calling at 8:45 and got no response. Was down waiting at curbside by 9:00. No shuttle came. Found a random stranger in the same situation and got a ride to pick up our cars. Arrived at 9:47 and a man was just finishing up helping people with their car. He told us we were late and they were closed even though it says they are open until 10:00 online. He slammed the door in our faces and shut off all the lights. Said he was going to call the police on us if we didn’t leave. Never had a worse experience in my life.

Satisfactory car rental

I had to wait about 20 minutes to rent my car. The man at the counter was very nice and had passed out bottles of water and encouraged customers to sit in easy chairs in the hallway of the building. The driver who picked us up from the airport was very friendly and helpful. The car that I rented was missing part of the cover of the gas cap door. Other than that, the car was very comfortable and drove well. Excellent gas mileage. I think it was a Nissan versa. All of the paperwork was emailed. I had noted the defect on the gas cap door and signed a piece of paper with that notated on it but this was left in the custody of the business. The location was easy to find for the business. It was on the grounds of the Hilton hotel in West Palm Beach. Drop off was very simple. A woman approached me with a clipboard and was very courteous and friendly. Again no paperwork exchanged hands. I would prefer having some contract in paper form. The shuttle back to the airport was with the same driver Thomas who was so nice. I definitely would rent from Easirent again because the price was a big draw. Other car rental companies prices were almost double what Easirent quoted.

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible. We booked this company via Hotwire and we could not be more unhappy with our experience. We were traveling from NY, flying into Orlando. I called twice in the days leading up to our trip to confirm what we should do upon arrival at the airport and if there were any additional items we would need. We were assured that we would simply need to make our way down to the shuttle area, call the provided number and a shuttle would pick us up right away. What actually happened, is that once we arrived and called the number, it simply sent us to a looped message stating that the shuttle arrives at the airport every 30 minutes. WE WAITED FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. The shuttle came once in that time, was already half full and did not have room for us. The driver said that we could elect to split up and send one person ahead while the other waited outside at the airport with all the luggage for ANOTHER 30 MINUTES. Obviously we opted to wait together. Once we FINALLY got in the shuttle, the driver was lovely and very apologetic. He was the nicest part of the experience. Once we arrived at the rental building, we had to sign in and WAIT AGAIN. With only one guest ahead of us and one person working at the counter, WE WAITED ANOTHER 30 MINUTES. After we FINALLY get to the window, the representative was rude, unhelpful and asking for documents that I had specifically asked if I needed prior to leaving NY and was told no. Now we had to scramble to get copies as we were in line. We were also made to purchase a Sun Pass at $10/day even though we explained that we were not staying anywhere near those toll roads and would not be using it. That didn't matter. It takes another solid 25 minutes to actually get the documents done and obtain keys. You are asked to digitally sign a contract that YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO READ PRIOR TO SIGNING and are told that a copy will be emailed to you. We FINALLY get the car and this is the best part....it has only a 1/4 tank of gas (this rude rep told me "We aren't a gas station" so "we have no control over how the car comes back to us." She did all this as she was taking a call on her cell phone. We still had an hour drive to our hotel so now needing to find and fill up gas at 8:30 at night was awesome. The car they gave us was smashed in on one side, was missing a hub cap, missing the gas door, passenger side mirror was smashed and it smelled awful. When I said it was unacceptable, I was told they were sold out and basically take it or leave it. It's now almost 9:00 p.m. in an unfamiliar city, with an hour drive ahead of us and trying to get to our hotel before we lose our reservation so they backed us into a corner.
When the day came for us to return the car, the gentleman who looked over the car asked my husband "What happened here?" (looking at the mess of a passenger side). My husband said, you can't be serious...do you not remember us being here Wednesday night and how upset we were? I'm happy to show you the video and photos we took before we left here.
We then go out to wait for the shuttle. He promptly arrives, but doesn't even speak to us, just throws our bags in the back and we sit to wait to leave. And wait, and wait and wait....20 minutes later we finally head to the airport.

Absolutely horrible experience and I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Lady at service counter was rude

Lady at service counter was rude. Line to get a car and get help took forever. I was charged the full amount plus a balance for my car. Yet to receive my refund because WiseCars won’t respond to my emails or phone calls.

Caveat Emptor

So another car rental company screwed me out of a reservation and I booked Easirent sight unseen through Priceline because they were cheap and renting a car same day in Orlando is akin to highway robbery. The shuttle drivers were very nice but to staff inside felt totally untrustworthy, caveat emptor (buyer beware).

I rented a Yaris (cheap) but upgraded to a Pathfinder in store) I was told there no damage to the car and the tank was full. I walked out to collect the car to find a large dent in the door, obvious body work, a chip in the windshield, the tire pressure warning light on, stains on the seat and less than half a tank of gas. I went in and they changed the markings on the sheet but if I hadn't gone back in I know I would have been paying for it all!

The tire light they explained as a bad sensor...how can they rent a car with a bad sensor? I checked all the tires and 3 were slightly low and the one that had "bad sensor" was over inflated.

After a 5 hour plane ride...left stranded

After a 5 hour plane ride - I was left stranded at Ft Lauderdale airport. They did not answer the phone and no shuttle ever arrived. And to top it off, they refuse to refund my money. Who runs a business like this? Lesson learned, do not trust these cheap car rental places because you think it is a better deal, spend the extra $ to rent from a reputable company. This company should be absolutely ashamed of their business practices.

Would definitely rent here again!

I arrived in Orlando at 8:30am & the shuttle got to the airport pretty quickly. Everyone I dealt with was nice & the process was easy. The car was super clean & great gas mileage! Thankfully, Tania, the manager-on-duty was a TREMENDOUS help when I needed to extend my rental. She was so accommodating & I appreciate her so much.

VERY unfortunately, I had to pay $60 for the sun pass that I never used. Wish I had known I wasn’t going anywhere near a toll road & maybe they should’ve asked me where I’d be before charging me for a needless expense. But I guess that’s how they make more money. It’s my stupidity for not checking my routes while I was there.

JUST DON'T DO IT!

I wouldn't give this piece of S---T company one star but I didn't have that option. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay away from this joke of a company. These people couldn't rent a car if your life depended on it. After waiting in a very long, sweaty line with no air flow-one hour standing watching what seemed to be a circus. Just the kind of feeling you wish for when trying to rent a car. After standing there for an hour, I walk to the front counter just to be told the car I reserved wasn't on the lot and they didn't know when it would be. Sorry for you! Guess you aren't getting a car today. NO trying to suggest another car...perhaps upgrading me since YOU PEOPLE can't figure out how to care for a customer. Instead, the employee told me it was 'like this' all over Florida and I need to just figure something else out.
WHAT? Ok....well....looking at the slew of one star reviews you really do not give a damn about how upset people are after having this experience.
Do the rental car business a favor and GO OUT OF BUSINESS!

Really bad customer service!!

Really bad customer service!!
We were an hour late and they charged an extra $15! Really! Agent just Said he couldn’t take the charge off because their computer forced them to charge it. Who says that! After a part of that lateness was because their shuttle had to be called, even though their recording says they’ll be by every 15 min! When I mentioned this to the agent, he just argued with me. Will never rent from them again!!

STAY AWAY!

Any travel site (Priceline, Travelocity, etc) that allows their services to be used for Easirent should not only be ashamed of themselves, but possibly be held in complicity with this unprofessional company. I have rented more than 100 cars in my lifetime, whether it was for business or pleasure, and Easirent is BY FAR THE WORST! This company is your classic “You better read the fine print”! AND I mean “their” fine print and not the travel site that you are using. After listening to their BS for more than an hour, I told them I was cancelling my reservation and getting a car from a “reputable” company. They told me there would be “no refund”, even though they told the customer in front of me that they had “no cars available”. They told me to contact their “customer service”, but forgot to tell me that their customer service never picks up the phone. I’ve read where positive reviews are usually bought off with “upgrades at no cost or other promises”. There’s not enough promises in the world that would get me to use their service EVER AGAIN!

Miami Airport location

Miami Airport location . Awful. After waiting 20 minutes for a shuttle (which was unmarked and impossible to find) I reached the disgusting makeshift trailer rental site in the middle of nowhere and ended up leaving in an UBER instead of their rental car. The GM ? Chip was incredibly rude-right from the beginning. Condescending, yelling at me and my husband, ass*****. Cars were old/beat up. Bottom line-DO NOT rent from here!

Great experience - low rates

Booked Easirent (Orlando) through rentalcars.com for 4 days right after Christmas. Was the cheapest rate we could find, so we were a bit nervous of the quality. We had a very friendly man pick us up in the Easirent shuttle at the airport and took us back to the location. It was a little busy, but we got our car in about 15 minutes. We were happy to find out we got upgraded a class of car and it was in good shape. There were a few bumps and scratches on the car that we were able to take note of for Easirent. Upon returning the car, we asked if we could come back in a few hours to take the shuttle to the airport and was told (by the manager?) to keep the car an extra couple of hours until that time!! I can't complain about any experience I had with Easirent. I would definitely compare their rates with others when shopping for a rental car.

The absolute worst experience

The absolute worst experience in my 40 year travel career. It started in JAX and ended in MIA. The check in places were disgusting, the upsell is brutal, the cars are dirty, worn out, and stink, and almost got in a fight with the GM in Miami. I have never experienced such low class car rental in my life.

Please stay away!!

There is not enough room in this review to adequately describe how bad our experience at the FT Myers(RSW) Easirent location. Just imagine the worst and you might be there. The coup de grâce came when we were in the middle of our horrendous experience, Easirent provided no meaningful or adequate method to contact Management and report what was happening. It took us four days and a long email addressed to Easirent senior management before we finally heard from someone. They sent us an email BTW. No one called us to topologize, they sent an email. Its now been a week, and we have been unable to physically speak to anyone at Easirent about our experience. This is anyone other than the reservations agent. If Easirent offered me lifetime free rental, free gas, and pickup and drop off at my location, I would take the bus!! Please stay away!!

Dangerous and disappointing experience

This company is a long walk plus a shuttle ride from the airport, not convenient at all, I was provided a car that smelled the smoke, had a film on the windshield and a tire that leaked. Extremely rude owner said by phone I had to fix it at my own expense, tire expert said that a plug in the tire that was there when I rented it was leaking, I will never rent from this company again.
