U-Save Catania Airport provides car rental from a desk at Via Giuseppe La Rena Fondo 4, inside VIP Car Parking, serving travellers arriving at Catania Airport (CTA) in the Catania area. To reach the desk, exit the terminal and walk past terminal C, then follow the signs for VIP Car Parking. The rental station is about 300 metres from the airport and is easily reached on foot. If you need help finding it, call the branch using the number in the branch details on this page. Desk opening hours (local time): every day 08:00–22:00. Public holidays: 09:00–20:00.

On arrival, there was no one at the desk. Two girls returned, ignored me and started typing into their screens. I had to ask to be attended to.
There was then an aggressive sales pitch about buying insurance despite having taken out full protection with Jet2. The cost for one week for a Toyota Aygo was £260. I declined which was not easy.
I was then asked to pay for the car to be washed on its return. OK, its only 14Euros, but that's a first on any previous car hire.
I was handed a piece of paper with all the faults and scratches which was difficult to read as in a mix of Italian and English but in tiny tiny writing. Threatened with losing my 900 Euros deposit if there was any markings on its return - as I hadn't bought the insurance- the car had a missing hub cap and lots of scratches.
Five minutes in to the first journey away from the airport, the tyre pressure light came on and after stopping at a garage to have it checked, the engineer couldn't reset it as the button was broken.
There was no screen wash in the car to clean the front or back windows.
An altogether unpleasant experience and I wouldn't recommend this company

An easy and good rental
It was easy to rent, to pick-up the car, to leave it and the deposit was returned quickly. The car was a higher class, very new, clean and without any damages.
The staff, especially when I returned the car, was GREAT.

I purchased comprehensive insurance in Hungary, but the rental company initially refused to accept it when I picked up the car. I had not been informed in advance that this could be an issue.
The staff insisted that I purchase their additional €500 insurance, which I felt was being forced upon me.
Eventually, after a lengthy discussion, I was allowed to take the car with my own insurance, just 10 minutes after closing time.
On the positive side, the car was clean, well-equipped, and in good condition.
Despite the unpleasant experience during pickup, I would choose this rental company again in the future.
