Usually pretty good

Usually pretty good, but had a horrible experience. First he picked up a week later after taking job. Shippers truck broke down half way. Then told me to get another driver and to have picked up. So a 3-4 day shipping went to a 3 week ordeal

Great transaction and correspondence.
Website was easy to navigate and I received three separate quotes for comparison. The shipper as very professional and the item arrived on time with excellent communication throughout the process. I am sure I will be using uShip again in the future. Thank you.

Excellent experience - so easy!

Excellent experience. I chose to ask for bids and received bids from $400 to $1000. I chose a company with good reviews and a reasonable bid - and everything went great from there. The driver stayed in contact with me and showed up on time. He kept me informed of the delivery. The Uship system does all the work - sending out the bid request, tracking responses, tracking company I chose, tracking delivery, handling the money ……..and that made it so easy. I’ve used Uship 3 times.

Incompetent delivery

The driver and assistant were highly inexperienced using the equipment to offload the shipment of glass jars, dropping one pallet which landed on both of them. They finished the delivery 3 hours later than predicted and were fortunate that either or both didn't end up in the ER.

I was very pleased with the uShip…

I was very pleased with the uShip experience. I was nervous at first and I had to follow-up with the transporter to confirm they were going to pick it up and although it was picked up later than scheduled, it was delivered fast and was very satisfied with the value. I would use them again.

First time shipping anything

I had to ship a transmission from California to Mississippi. I have never “shipped” anything before! Uship made it so easy!
Clear, simple instructions and options for carriers that included price.
Packaged according to the instructions and labelled with BOL.
Pickup was on time and smooth. Good communication!
Great experience.

Very bad experience

Very bad experience. My TVs arrived damaged, and photos from their own team clearly show poor packaging. When I contacted them, they tried to blame me and even claimed the TVs were already packaged by the sender, which is not true. No accountability and very unprofessional service. I would not trust them with fragile items.

easy to negotiate site, got good responses, fair price

Enough interested shippers responded to make a choice, gave me ability to offer price vs auction. This was effective. Unfortunately I selected a poor shipper, although he had good reviews. Happily uship was on to him and offered support along the way. Second time using uship and will do so again.

uship good but be wary of one of their carriers - Montway

uship is fine - I've used them for years. But this review is about one of the trucking companies they work with -- Montway. I originally hired this Montway in February to transport my wife's SUV from Virginia to California. Not knowing much about their specific services, I chose the pickup window service as it was noticeably cheaper and I felt a 4 day pickup window could be managed since they told me 90% of pickups occurred in that window. Well, 4 days passed and they still couldn't tell me when the car would be picked up. They also changed their language with me from "days" to "business days" and stressed that the window was an estimate, not a guarantee. On the 5th day I cancelled the contract and went with another carrier broker (uship) which sadly assigned my transport to Montway (again) under a different name that I should have looked at closer - Consumer Direct Transport. This time I selected guaranteed pickup as my wife had to fly to CA and we left her car with a good neighbor friend. Well, Consumer Direct did pickup my car on the guaranteed day (although several hours later than originally promised) but it was shipped to Illinois and had been in storage for 3 days there (unbeknownst to me) when I called for an update. Montway could not tell me when it would be picked up and re-transported to CA. This has been a terrible experience and their customer service is not really able to help you -- but they sure send you surveys after each contact. They don't really provide any regular updates and you are forced to call them to check on your status. And when you learn next to nothing calling them and ask to speak with a supervisor, they tell you the supervisor will call you as there is no way to transfer in real time like most other modern commerce companies? Clearly others have had good experiences with Montway but I'm batting zero for two and would never ever use them again. (As a final note, our car showed up 9 days after pickup and I received no update on the shipping progress from Chicago other than a uship update when I called them after hearing nothing from Montway, and the driver the morning of the drop off.)

Using UShip to transport a family heirloom

Using UShip to transport a family heirloom was fast and half the price of shipping through UPS or FedEx. The website was easy to use, reviews of the driver were readily available and gave me confidence in the process. The delivery was completed on time and item arrived in good condition. I’ll use the service in the future.

Antique Side Board - California to Texas

I'm so glad I found uShip! I couldn't figure out how to get a family antique to my daughter in Texas from California. I received a few bids and the one I chose was excellent (Pharoahs Expedite LLC).
