It was very relaxing and the site was lovely. The facilities were amazing.
I thought the mobile was a little old, but everything worked and it was clean and worked fine.

Vacansoleil were brilliant
Vacansoleil were brilliant. We originally booked to go back in 2020, but Covid hit and we couldn't travel, thankfully we only had our €100 deposit paid. They were brilliant and allowed us to use that against our next holiday, which we booked for July 2022.
Everything was an absolute breeze to book and to change.

Family holiday
It was the first family holiday for 4years. The weather was fantastic. The campsite was good a, maybe a bit hilly and some of the mobiles are a bit dated. There was lots to do onsite for the youngsters.access to the local town was limited. Overall I would recommend it as very suitable for families with young kids but a bit restricted for 15 to 18 year olds.

Very disappointed
We went to Kinzigtal in May 2022. Because of traffic jams we were late and communications were very difficult. The outside of our chalet was filthy. I was happy to complain there and then but my wife wasn't well and didn't want a fuss. We were booked in to another campsite near Wurzburg but given our experience we cancelled and went AirBNB.

Grand
The booking process, the campsite and the checkin process were of very high quality.
However we will never use Vacansoleil again.
1. We were at the campsite with several friends who had booked with other providers like Campotel, Eurocamp and Lifestyle holidays. Their accommodation was just as high quality but they had a BBQ. Previously when we had gone to campsites we always had a BBQ. For us a BBQ is a core element of the holiday and we assumed it would be standard based on past experience. Every family in the entire campsite was provided a BBQ except those staying with Vacansoleil.
Your rep told us they couldn't help and that you simply don't provide BBQs anywhere. Your website neglects to advise of this basic omission.
2. When we arrived and checked in, the airconditioning didn't work. Whoever prepared the chalet for our arrival could have checked that. We had a very uncomfortable first night.
3. Ants everywhere in the chalet
Better training for the reps on the ground is also advisable.

San Francesco Great/Vacansoleil Not So Great
This is not a review for the campsite itself (San Francesco - Caorle) which was very good. This is a review for Vacansoleil, the company who we booked through. We arrived late at the camp, so the two English reps arrived the next morning to 'welcome' us. This involved barely a smile and asking for a cash deposit of 150euro which we were told would be returned once our holiday home was fully cleaned - we must follow the cleaning list in the cupboard in order to get the deposit back. We'd only just arrived and this cleaning list was mentioned three times - 'you must follow the cleaning list etc'. There was no mention of the facilities on site, the kids clubs, the beach, the theatre, the doctor's surgery/supermarket - we found all this info out ourselves by spotting posters around the camp. Other than cleaning, the only other thing they wanted to know was when we were leaving.. (the rep suggested 6pm as we had a late flight).. Not a great start. Once we were in, we realised that the 'cleaning list' was not in the cupboard mentioned. Concerned that this had been drilled into us, I went to the Vacansoleil reception (a hut on site). No sign of anyone but there is a pad where you can leave questions - I asked for the list and although it said that someone would get back to us the same day, we heard nothing. Three days later, I found the rep and asked again about the list, she said that they didn't have any left in English and were waiting for some. She gave me a vague run-down of the cleaning (didn't write a thing down). After enjoying our holiday - the friendly on-site staff were a world away from our reps, the original duo finally arrived to arrange check-out. They straight away told me that I must follow the cleaning list - these were the same 2 people, who I reminded that I'd been chasing 'the list' and they didn't have one for me. They didn't ask how our stay was, the lady stood on the balcony with my young daughter and didn't say a word to her for a full 5 mins ('how was your holiday' would be a good start?!) as I went inside to get something. Totally weird. Even the on-site novelty train driver chatted to the kids and made them feel welcome. The only job that Vaconsoleil seems to have is to collect money and check that you're up to cleaning lady standards when you leave (I assume they save money on actual cleaners). It was bizarre and unwelcoming in a camp that was otherwise great. Because the reps write nothing down, there was also a weird altercation where the couple denied giving 6pm as a check-out time for us on the day we arrived - 'My husband would never have said 6pm for check-out' - he did, and the two adults with me at the time were just as puzzled as they'd witnessed the original conversation. The reps seemed to be grumpy and ready for some sort of argument every time we spoke to them (and I'm sure they have a few). Smiling, giving a couple of tips and being welcoming costs nothing. It doesn't have to be all about 'the list'.
