My son purchased 2 pre-paid cards from Walmart in Toronto as Xmas gifts. When I went to use the card, there was a problem activating it. I contacted the Cust.Serv department only to be put on hold for close to 30 mins. Then I was told that I had to provide the receipt, front/back of the card, and picture ID so that the matter can be investigated. It took just over 30 days to get the issue resolved. Now I am going through the same issue with the second card! I'm told that I will receive an email within 24-48 hrs with an explanation of the investigation...of course I didn't receive the email. When I called back in to discuss I was told that a manager is not available right now and to call back in 2-3hrs. No manager/supervisor? Just a bunch of workers not being supervised?
If I could have provided zero stars, that is what I would have selected. This company is the absolute worst, and I recommend NEVER to buy a Vanilla Prepaid card! The date, March 16, 2026 is when the process started for the second card. I'm still waiting for it to be corrected.
