Well so far everything has been good. Although I'm still waiting for my check to post. But It didn't post until 5pm last week. I'm hoping that it's earlier this week. Other than that. Varo Banking is great.
I make over $800 a month and it will only let me borrow $20 at a time. That’s ridiculous.
Ive been with varo for a while now. My son’s father passed away in March and I started receiving my son’s Social Security survivor benefits in April and have been fighting with Social Security over the past two months so that I could start receiving his back pay amount because at the end of May I became homeless per se. My phone broke the first week of June and lost my wallet the first week of June as well due to being homeless and I had no idea that my back pain for my son was deposited on June 12. That’s what I’ve needed for the past two months so that I can purchase a vehicle and get a place for my son so that he has a roof over his head so finally when I find out I got my back Money at the end of June I went out and purchased a new phone so I could access my bank account and when all of a sudden done I received an email from this company stating that they need to verify my identity I guess because of the dollar amount that was deposited into my account, which is my son‘s backpay amount from his father passing away and now I have to jump through hoops just to verify my identity and who I am just so that you people don’t close my account out and send me a check which is gonna take me longer to receive my son’s money not to mention his regular monthly benefits are deposited into this bank account, so be perfectly honest with you, I’m probably going to call Customer Service this morning and see if I can just go ahead and close my account have the money sent after my son gets his monthly benefit this month and then just go ahead and open up a new bank account somewhere because this is actually caused me more hindrance than help being Varo! It’s a shame because I actually really do like this bank never had any issues all the way up until now and it’s crazy. You can’t even see the Social Security is the ones who deposited my son‘s back pay amount of $15,772..! I mean, I don’t understand what the freaking problem is! But like I said, it’s OK because I’m gonna call today and see if you all can use some other type of verification as far as proof of address because if not then I’m gonna see that go ahead closing my account out you guys actually could’ve made a lot of money off of my account but all of a sudden because of transaction stuff which is like I said hey Social Security deposit for Survivor benefits for my son I have to verify who I am and it’s absolutely ridiculous because I shouldn’t have to do that. I am who I am. I seriously exhausted. Some random Hojo schmo is going to deposit $15,000 in my bank account. !!

If I could rate zero I would. I was loving Varo paying before Advance date. I got a a Credit Card with them and never used it seen my credit score dropped 55 points. Look nothing changed but I wasn’t using the credit card never activated the card. Not knowing your credit score.impact your Advance. I call myself paying early as usual and they let you borrow the money right back. I made arrangements on my light bill not knowing they were going to deduct my Advance. Crazy part I up my direct deposit o over $700 in Varo account. For them to drop it down $100 never been late always paid early. My lights was turned off because arrangement wasn’t kept. I closed my Savings and changed to CashApp as long as you paying on time or early they never go down they only go up. I would never recommend this bank. I thought it was good bank. They move backwards to me.
This app has been a life saver, I have been able to do direct deposit, cash checks and so much more!! I would recommend this app to anyone!!
Great fast and very easy to navigate when sending and receiving money
Varo lowered my advance amount even though I have been paying everything on time every time.
Best online bank . Been with them two months always get my direct deposit early and now they have zelle!
I enjoy the various Locations to load my Varo Debit Card and Varo Credit Card. When shopping, sometimes, I spend money periodically and while I"m at the business. I can load funds so I don't have to stop at a Bank. One less of a trip.

Simple to sign up and get started. The tools make understanding your options easy. I would ignore a lot of the noise they generate after you get started of lines of credit or the secured card. Those products are fine they just are a little overly aggressive at trying to push you into them.

I love the convenience of an online bank. Take money and go to a location, put it on, and you are good to go. Direct Deposit is even easier. Scanning a check is difficult for me, however, I made it work.
