I make multiple moves a year.
I am leaving this review as a person that moves around the country a lot. I recently moved back on June 1st with Everest Relocation. Left them a review as well and would have used them again however this move was very last minute and unfortunately they did not have any availability. So I contacted a few other companies and decided on Venture Van Lines. Not because they were my cheapest quote (I’ve made that mistake before) but because the rep Larry Cooper was very knowledgeable about the industry. Keep in mind I move sometimes twice a year. This is my second move this year. So I am very familiar with the way things work. So I asked Larry questions trying to catch him up in a lie because unlike most people I research my moving company before I contact them. During my research I came across this site and seen all these reviews saying “Venture is a scam” “Beware these people are nothing but scammers”. So I took it upon myself to get my own experience. Larry answered every question honestly. So I have to say my experience with Venture is far different from the majority I see here. The hidden fees are not so much hidden. It clearly breaks down any additional fees that could possibly arise on move day. Just like many of the others my quote also increased. It also states that the quote is just an estimate. I understood exactly what I was signing and had expectations of my estimate increasing a bit as it has every single time I have moved. Is it unfortunate that I had to pay more yes. Is it Ventures fault? No. Is it Larry’s fault? No. Is it my fault? No. There is no sure fire way to get a 100% accurate quote over the phone. Anyone moving should understand that. If you are going to be doing a long distance move you should prepare yourself for additional expenses. Not only did I require more space than quoted I wasn’t finished packing. Do I expect the movers to pack my belongings for free no. Am I happy that I had to pay more than I was ESTIMATED? Of course not. But that doesn’t rectify screaming scam, scam, scam. I would definitely use this company again. I kinda got carried away but if you’ve made it this far Venture is a great company to work with. Trust me when I tell you there are far worse companies out there. I’ve been a victim of a scam company and Venture is not one of them.

Used venture Van lines last month was…
Used venture Van lines last month was quoted 1600$ then after the movers took my furniture hostage they increased the bill to 3000 $ I am 65 and on disability and could not get a response for the discrepancy. They sent a taj Cohen moving to my house went 1400$ over I would be happy to get my 600$ deposit back
They are a bunch of scammers
Do not use this company. They are a fraud and hold your items hostage if you don’t give them more than agreed from the contract. Horrible DO NOT USE them. They went through another company called Federal moving and Storage that took our stuff because we didn’t Zelle him money to his personal account. We were going to pay with card to the company but he wanted us to have no tracking. They are a scam and a fraud.
terrible experience
I had the absolute misfortune of dealing with Venture Van Lines LLC during my recent move, and I must say, it was nothing short of a nightmare. If I could give them a negative rating, I would.
First off, I made the decision to rent a truck and drive myself to save money on the move. However, I thought it wouldn't hurt to get a few quotes from moving companies, just to explore my options. That's when my ordeal with Venture Van Lines began.
Charlie from Venture Van Lines LLC called me, and he was incredibly persuasive. He assured me that their quoted price was final and wouldn't increase, despite my reservations about hidden fees. He even tried to convince me that their terrible reviews were for a different branch, and he showed me a website that apparently had no complaints about them whatsoever. Charlie's offer was $500 more than what it would have cost me to do it myself, but his smooth talking got the better of me.
I provided them with all the details about the items I needed to move, including pictures of some of them. Two days before they were set to arrive, Jack, another representative from the same company, called me claiming that I had more items than initially disclosed, and I needed to pay an additional $500 immediately. Frustrated and stressed, I reluctantly paid up.
But the real nightmare began when the truck finally arrived. They insisted on an additional $3,000 on top of what I had already paid, claiming that I had even more items than they initially thought. At this point, I had no choice but to pay up since it was the day I needed to vacate my house.
To make matters worse, the company was aware that I wouldn't have my new home for at least four more days, but they loaded my belongings onto the truck anyway. When I explained this to them, they simply hung up on me. On the day they were supposed to arrive at my new home, I tried calling to get an estimate of their arrival time, but they ignored my calls. The company even claimed they couldn't locate the driver and that his phone was off.
It took a grueling 10 days for them to finally get back to me and deliver my belongings. And to add insult to injury, many of my items arrived damaged. Plates were shattered, drawers were broken, and glasses were reduced to shards.
Venture Van Lines LLC is a company that operates with deceit and dishonesty at its core. Their promises of a fair price and reliability are nothing but empty words. Stay far away from this company if you value your sanity and your belongings. My move with them was a costly, infuriating disaster that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
Answer to your reply:
While I appreciate your effort to clarify the situation, I must express my continued concern regarding the significant discrepancy between the initial quote and the final charges. Despite my efforts to provide detailed information, including the estimated sizes, quantities of cabinets, and photographs of my items, the final price was adjusted multiple times, ultimately doubling from the last quoted amount.
This experience has left me questioning the transparency and professionalism of your quoting process. I believe there was ample information available to provide a more accurate estimate from the outset.

Venture Van Lines
BEWARE
This company is a Broker, not an actual moving Company.
They promised me everything I needed and gave me nothing but an Expensive Mess. I still am fighting with the actual Moving Company to deliver my stuff.
I went with them because I thought they were reliable NOT. They promised me a good price, a 4 day delivery, safe delivery.
The movers got to my house Believe me I told Venture Van Lines everything I had and the movers said there's no way we can do this for the price I was quoted. They said it's double the amount of boxes, furniture etc. I fought with them but in the end they had me at their mercy. Because I flew out the next day. The price started out at $2,700.00 and ended up $6,400.00. This Venture Van Lines is a rip off. They tell you whatever you want to hear and promise the moon. I didn't ask for much just get my stuff to my new home in California in 1 piece and as soon as they could. AR a low price. With my furniture and boxes I had an 8 x 10 room only half way filled from wall to wall and 3/4 filled from floor to ceiling. Isn't much. Update, the moving company is holding my stuff hostage and says if I don't pay in full now they Won't Give Me My Stuff. I am not paying them in full. I have contacted my lawyer and telling the websites that are important so people won't get Ripped Off like I did.

Not an honest company
I paid more than double the original quote. Delivery was not when expected, missing items, damaged items. Absolutely horrible customer service finally started a claim with a 3rd party only for them to email.me saying Venture Van lines requested my claim to be closed and to contact Venture Van Lines if i had questions.
Lying, cheating disrespectful and flat out don't care about being a respectable company.
You should be ashamed.

I had a great experience with this company and their affiliates. They had my stuff delivered within the time frame I asked and they even stored it for me for free for 2 weeks. They wrapped everything in blankets and it was all kept together nicely.

Not getting deposit back, Lied too
At frist it was great talking with jake and charlie, the price was great, They wanted a resabnalbe deposit, i asked multiple times if it was refundable, and Charlie told me yes every time. Less than a week later we found out we needed not to move and they will not give us the deposit back, Said I had 72 hours and I missed the window, (even when I was TOLD YES ON A REFUND they said they would see what they can do and when I spoke with kat she was so rude and said well if we felt sorry for everyone we would be out of business I will just out this on hold. I am devasted, its so much money that we did not have and i have a family to care for. They should be ashamed of themselves, Instead of loyalty they get bad reviews.

Scam
I’m shocked you guys still operate the business after all the scam you’ve done and all the bad reviews you’ve been receiving… Hopefully NOT FOR LONG! Scamming people like that! Shame on you and your company!
Replying to Venture Van Lines
Actually this was my second review not multiple …So please don’t makeup any lies… First one was made on the day of the move that DIDINT happen… on TOP OF IT YOU STOLE 801$ from me. Which I never got it back. You offered me 200$ when I cancelled within 24h. (And I do have a proof)..tell you the truth I am not really shocked after reading all the negative reviews people made with similar accusation’s towards your company that you steal the deposits and that’s how you make your money! The second review I wrote today saying I am very shocked you still run your business after all the Scams you’ve done!! But from reading all the reviews hopefully it’s not gonna be too long till you get permanently close.
Once again replaying to Venture Van Lines
First of all, you prepared the contract using someone else’s name to authorize the Payment from my Bank account. Right the way I contact your company to cancel the contract and it was within 24h not surprising no one was answering the phone or responding to the emails that were sent! You did took the deposit from my account knowing I wanted a refund! (That’s what we call stealing!) And what are you talking about saying “service was done”Nothing was done! There was no move I had to put my stuff in the storage. I filed a POLICE REPORT and I will be presenting all the documents in court! And going back to a proof I do have a recorded conversation of your representative saying you will not charge me anything till the goods are picked up… maybe you should check with your employee
You actually right in this one matter it’s no point of going back and forth. But looking at your reviews how many people you scammed it shows you are the liars and scammers. but if I can make a difference by saving someone from choosing your company being scammed it’s all worth it! and don’t worry be patient you will see me in court.

WARNING
WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I got scammed out of almost $2,000. They are extremely unprofessional and take all the money they can get from you as quickly as possible. They stated they are veteran owned, military loved, and promises the ability to get onto a military installation. They lied. Two of my four movers did not have valid ID. One of the only two movers that could get on base was extremely overweight and unable to move a single piece of furniture. Instead, he sat on MY king size mattress while the ONE worker who had ID moved pieces around. In contract, they state they will notify you when movers will show up. They did not. Showed up unannounced and unprepared. Then tripled the price before leaving with my property and dropped our contract because we wouldn’t give them $10,000 up front. Absolute robbery. I can only hope that poor businesses and companies, like this one, that take every last penny you have, get what they have coming for them. I have four small children and nothing left now. I really truly hope this saves someone from the hell we have had to endure with this company.

Scam
This company is a scam. Please stay away from them. Worst experience of my life!
Venture van line asked through trustpilot to add my review and explain my experience so this review is not taking down… venture van lines already once flagged my review few weeks ago…
Venture van lines used my name on the contract ( without my consent) instead of the person who was actually moving from NYC to west palm beach. My name was used on the contract that stated I authorized to deduct monies from not my bank account. I never gave venture Van van lines authorization to use my name anywhere. How is that allowed?
Further more the estimate that they gave was way off. So, yes I think this company is absolute scam. Our attorney has taking over this case and I’ve already asked venture van lines not to contact me ever again. Thank you.

Either scammers or incompetents
The first thing to realize about this company is that they are brokers who will be outsourcing your move. You will have no say in who actually does your move and, if things go sideways as they did for us, Venture Van Lines will NOT back you against their subcontractors.
My second tip is not to believe any of the four-star reviews you might see on this company. Before contracting with these people please go to the BBB website where you will find 70+ complaints. We wish we had done this before contracting with them!
We had what should have been a small, easy job. We had a few pieces of furniture and some boxes, which we had already packed. We called Jack at Venture and told him what we wanted to move and, using his modeling tools, he estimated our necessary cubic feet needed as 435. He didn’t ask for photos or measurements.
Our assigned movers arrived as promised on July 4th and when we showed them the items to be moved, they said that it was ‘too much’ and ‘more than 400 cubic feet.’ They wanted more money - over twice what we had originally been charged. We called the Customer Service Manager at Venture, Kate Stephens, who was distinctly unhelpful, telling us that our sofa and loveseat were ‘massive’ according to the movers. The only option she offered us was to cancel the move and forfeit our deposit which was 1/3 of the total cost. Finally, my husband went out to the truck and discovered that the space allotted for our move was just the back 3.5 feet of the truck. Now, we aren’t professional movers or mathematicians, but we do know that 7x7x3.5 does not equal 435 cubic feet. The problem was not our supposedly ‘massive’ furniture, but that the movers had showed up with less than half the cubic feet we had contracted for. Even if we had agreed to pay the movers the extra money that they demanded, they could not have fit our stuff in the space available; not even if our ‘massive’ furniture was the size of dollhouse furniture.
In the end, we had the movers take what they could fit into the truck and we rented a UHaul trailer and moved the rest ourselves. The movers would not release our goods until we paid the full amount we had contracted for, based on 435 cubic feet instead of the 175 cubic feet they actually moved. Kate at Venture, despite supposedly being our broker, was consistently uncooperative throughout this process. She was extremely difficult to reach on the phone and when we did manage to reach her was clearly 100% on the side of the movers, almost making us out to be the villains, even when we provided photos and dimensions. She did promise to speak to the owner about getting us a partial refund, but that promise evaporated once our move was completed. When we spoke with her last, she suddenly doesn’t know the owner at all and doesn’t know how to contact him. All of our attempts to get ahold of the owner or CEO prior to leaving this review have been unsuccessful.
So was this a bait-and-switch scam or simple incompetence? Either way, it added up to the very worst customer service we have ever endured.
I’ll add a specific warning to veterans - this company represented themselves to us as a veteran-owned company. This is either stolen valor, or the veteran in question is ready and willing to screw over other veterans on the Fourth of July!

This company is a freakin joke
This company is a freakin joke. Called to set up a move from North Carolina to California Bill Berlington was the sales rep. He was very cordial at the time and said if we had any questions just to call him on his personnel line. We paid our deposit and then from there all hell broke lose. The move was suppose to start on June 29 or June 30th being the final pickup date, well nothing showed up. Then a text we will be there on July 1st. I guess they send texts out because they damn sure don't answer calls. Well July 1st came and still no movers another text we will be there July 2nd. The movers showed up and put five items on the truck and said we were over the cubic feet already and said they're not loading another item. Contract stated 684 cubic feet, I know 3 dressers, washer, dryer don't even come close. The movers said well we will unload your stuff for a fee of $850 we said the hell you will. We contacted Kate and that was no help, we had to get law enforcement involved to get the movers to unload the items with no help from Venture Van Lines. They took the deposit of $982 and refuses to give it back saying we cancelled the move but the movers wouldn't load the belongings. I have sent emails and made phone calls with no response on emails. I have made phone calls and sometimes they answer but then they hang up. They refuse to talk to me and they say this a Veteran Owned Company way to take care of Veterans. I say this is a freakin SCAMMING COMPANY that says one thing and once they receive the deposit you're tossed out to the wolves. I wouldn't recommend this company if life depended on it. We finally rented a 16 ft box truck from Penske and done it ourselves with room to spare inside if we needed it. This Company is Venture Van Lines LLC

Moving is never easy or smooth
Moving is never easy or smooth. Jack and his team at Venture Van Lines Moving made it seamless. Communication throughout the process was excellent, from the virtual walkthrough to moving day and beyond. The fellow who wrapped the furniture was an artist. Office staff stayed in touch all day and the crew chief looked after all the inevitable day of issues. never left hanging or wondering about timing. Response time to our questions was almost immediate. Questions were answered professionally and promptly. Thank you for making a stressful time less stressful.

Biggest scammers
Biggest scammers. Tony will lie to you to get the contract signed and once you sign and pay deposit you’re at the mercy of the outsourced moving company who basically gives you a new estimate. And Kate the manager is useless too. Avoid at all costs. If you’re moving in Florida, by pass venture van lines and call Crystal movers directly.

SCAMMERS BEWARE
SCAMMERS BEWARE. These reviews are fake bought reviews. The one stars are the actual reviews of customers they scammed. I was scammed out of a $1,000.00 deposit. Tried to cancel in the 72 hour time frame and Jack, Don, Katherine are trying to reassure me to not cancel. I went to the bank and put in a dispute with services hopefully I will get my money back. They are a brokerage that collects a high deposit for finding you movers. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ADDITIONAL HIGH PRICES FOR MOVERS. DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS

Might be ok for local moves. Do not recommend for long distance or as a broker.
My initial interaction with Dennis was helpful and pleasant. All other interactions have been severely lacking. We had a myriad of issues with them as a broker. The quote they gave was increased by the contracted agency by 4000. They only accept cash app, and electronic checks as far as I am aware. They may take credit cards but I was told my move date was happening too soon for them to accept a credit card. We had issues with the contracted company, and ultimately told them to leave and not come back. I then contacted the company the Monday immediately following our move date and was told to expect a call back from the owner/head manager that week. I never received a call. I spoke to two separate customer service reps the second week of May and one Manager before I spoke to the owner/head manager. Who I was told was going to call me, however, I called after waiting until their close time. She then told me the 1200 dollars is not eligible for refund because it is outside of the 3 day refund window, fine, I read that in their contract. The 1800 dollars reportedly goes to the contracted company and is not eligible for a refund because of that reason isn't eligible for a refund. The owner told me she would call the contracted company to see what she could do, and would call me back after the weekend with an update. I am still waiting to hear back. The bottom line is I hired a company to help me move as I have three small kids and my husband drives long haul. I received no help from them when things with the contracted company got weird, and have had a terrible time getting a hold of anybody now that they have my money. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.
