This feels like a classic bait and switch.

In the beginning, about a year ago, Vercel tools helped me salvage all the sites I had on my server. The transition was a bit bumpy. But, I managed to move everything to GitHub and launch within weeks. And, I did it all under Vercel's hobby plan. Then, in April 2024, I started getting odd notifications (for the first time). It said my usage was over 75%. Usage? The first report of usage occurred. Then I got another message on May 1st. It said I had used 100% of the free tier for Function Duration (100 GB Hrs). I have been using the same program for over a year. With only a few low-traffic sites added. But no sweat, my usage reset on May 2nd. I thought I dodged a bullet, but it happened on May 17th again. This time I was able to track down my usage. It showed I had used only a fraction of the reported usage (Vercel's automated message). I contacted customer support, but have not heard back from them. I am not optimistic as it seems like these guys are going for the money. I've read several things online, and it doesn't smell right. They raised over 200 million in the past week, and now my usage goes up? Now, they must base their valuation on usage. So, it looks like they want me to subscribe to their PRO plan. But, it has increased by $10 to $30 from $20. And it no longer has unlimited traffic. These guys are putting me in a bad position with their new scheme. And they don't have dedicated customer service for paying customers. This feels like a classic bait and switch.

Quick to correct issues

I'd heard many great things about Vercel as being the go-to platform for hosting Next.Js projects. It's been recommended both by friends and YouTubers, so it was time for me to give it a go.
They provide signup through GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and email. I went for email. Unfortunately, my email aliases were blocked without a very clear error message. I tried 3 different ones without success. That resulted in me giving up trying to sign up and writing a 1-star review. To my surprise, the review had reached the highest place of management in Vercel and resulted in a resolution within an hour I had written it.
Now I am excited to start using the platform, especially knowing that support is there to help quickly if I am to have any difficulties.

I use Vercel for multiple professional…

I use Vercel for multiple professional and hobby apps and the quality of service is unmatched. They constantly innovate and improve their offers - storage, AI, templates and more. The only downside is a price, but you get what you pay for.

I love Vercel

I love Vercel. If you have had to deploy and manage an app the old way. You would appreciate it. And yes there are other options out there. But not one with this free tier and such developer experience.

I try to use Vercel for all my projects and that's not changing any time soon.

I leave a review because I have not upgraded yet and this is the least I can do.
