Reputable site
I believe that Verse-Chorus to be a reputable organisation. The main trouble being that there are some "artists", who operate on this site in a selfish manner. That said persistance will normally bear out and if you keep trying you will find a kindred spirit hopefully in the end.

If you are looking for inspiration to spur on your music/song writing skills then the Verse-Chorus site is the place to be. Do what I have done, and seek out people with similar music interests to you in the UK or Worldwide to collaborate with and share creative ideas.
After a short time I was delighted to have found a community of like minded people.

Not worth the money or time
It seems that everyone on this site that I’ve reached out to or replied to never actually wants to collab or anything. Paying money to see messages and then to not get a good response AT ALL is very frustrating and makes this a useless investment.

I am sorry Philip that so far you been unable to find the right songwriting collaborator for you. We do understand, each of our members have specific requirements when searching for their perfect collaborator and this is why you may or may not gain a response from fellow members.
We strongly encourage all our members to respond to every request for collaboration, however, as I am sure you can appreciate, this is somewhat out of our control. I am sorry this led to your unhappy review.

Fantastic! Verse-Chorus is an excellent platform that manages to retain a local community vibe. They give you the opportunity to expand your contacts of musicians, producers and writers, and make friends too. It's worth being patient with the platform, as there's a lot of value here. They also provide a service where you can easily generate copyright certificates for your work. I like it!

To help you narrow down your search, you can select 'Professional' when searching for your perfect collaborator. This will allow you to identify any fellow members who have rated their experience level as 'Professional'.
I also reccommend you place a 'Ad', which is free to do. This will not only attract attention, but it will also allow you to be very specific in what you are wishing to find in your perfect collaborator.
From your review, we believe your score reflects purely elements of Verse-Chorus of which we have limited control over. We therefore trust for the elements of Verse-Chorus which are in our control, for example, creating a supportive, member focused and user friendly platform, you are happy with. An unfortunate money grab
This website requires you to pay to read messages. Before you can consider whether or not you'd like to collaborate with someone based upon their project, you must already sink money into it. I see no use for this when you can already connect with groups of songwriters through Facebook, Discord, and really any other social media community. Save your time and money.

Dear Ted, I am very sorry you feel this way regarding having to pay to see your messages.
To register your details, build your member profile, upload your best creative work, post an ad, as well as sending an initial contact message to as many fellow members as you wish, is completely free.
To respond to replies, you are correct, you will need to take out one of our Membership Options in order to make further direct communications with fellow Verse-Chorus members. You will then have access to a private messaging system that allows you to send and receive messages.
To keep this worldwide service running, to provide our much valued members the service they expect and deserve, as well as develop new features, we charge a very reasonable price for the messaging part of the platform.
The reason why we decided on this route specially is, from the very beginning of Verse Chorus, we wanted to be open and fair to our users. We felt it was unfair to charge for registering with Verse-Chorus or for posting adverts, due to responses not being guaranteed. Membership Options, which you only take out when you receive responses to messages you have sent, or decide to respond to a message which has been sent to you and wish to continue communication, seemed a much fairer way in which to operate Verse Chorus. This has been generally welcomed and accepted by our members.
Members are also free to upload as many Lyrics or songs as they wish to their own portfolio, therefore there are lots of opportunities to see whether you think your fellow member are suited to your requirements, before you take out one of our reasonable membership options.
We hope this explains how and why we operate the way we do. We believe this is the fairest way to our members, who we think so highly of. By charging a small fee, we are able to provide the quality of the services our platform offers as well as a responsive, empathetic and supportive customer service.

I haven't yet used all the possibilities that VC offers, so far my experience has been excellent and has resulted in a nice collaboration.
