Terrible service
Terrible service - I had an urgent issue so I called their support team and there was a voice message that said “we are in a meeting, please try calling again later”. Why is your whole service team in a meeting? You should have at least 1-2 people still answering phones for customers. Absolutely the worst service.
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THEIR CONTRACT AND SALES PROMISES !!!
Fidel Quijada sold us QQ Catalyst saying there was NO contract and that we COULD CANCEL ANYTIME if we were not satisfied. After 9 months of use, we identified serious system issues and notified him. Instead of helping, he delayed responses until we were suddenly told we were already in a renewal period requiring a 60-day notice for cancellation. Because now we are entering another 12 month period of contract. (???)
Fortunately, I contacted Vertafore directly and learned we were just three days before being locked into another 12-month term—despite being told there was “no contract.” After canceling, we were charged thousands of dollars just to retrieve our own data. Our account was transferred to another representative without notice, and Fidel stopped responding to calls, texts, and emails. I only found out by contacting Vertafore again.

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CONTRACT!!! We found out the hard way that when you sign a 5 year contact, they slide in a 5 year renewal on it also, so you are locked into to them for 10 years! I have never heard of such a thing and is shady business practices in my book.

They care about sales and keeping your money. Their so called managers get switched out a lot and when you ask questions they are inexperienced. Billing is a nightmare. Trying to get a refund for an overcharge and their billing managers always in meetings and the girl who answers puts you on long holds and you can hear loud background because she works from home.

Run from this company as fast as you can. The lack of customer support is terrible. I signed up for a year and a 1-year contract with Vertafor back in December of 2023, a month before the renewal, as stated in the contract. I emailed my account rep as well as the Vertafor customer service department to cancel my account. I did not receive a response at all. A few months later, I started to receive invoices. I called again. I was notified my account was still active. Then over the course of 3 months, I exchanged over 30 emails with a supervisor at Vertafoir. Finally, they agreed to cancel my account via email. I received no additional invoice over the next few months. Then today I got a call from a collection agency. Turns out my Vertafor account has not been cancelled

The costs of this company rise every year, way more than other companies charge. 2 users for us approaching $700 per month. Some things they are unable to fix making it more frustrating with higher charges and no fixes. I would NOT recommend this company to other agencies.

Vertafroe Sucks!!! they claim i owe $36 from 4 years ago. the wont send me an invoice and i cannot pay over the phone or online. i have to mail payment. i cannot move forward with another carrier until this is paid.

Vertafore's service has been nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional. The software is clunky, outdated, and riddled with issues that make daily operations more challenging than they need to be. Customer support is nearly nonexistent — not once in the past five years has a representative proactively reached out to us. When we do reach out for help, it takes days to get any resolution, leaving our business operations disrupted.
What makes this worse is their deceptive five-year auto-renew policy. It’s unethical to lock customers into such long commitments, especially when there’s zero effort to maintain relationships or provide value during that time. The idea that we’re stuck paying for underwhelming service simply because a rep hasn’t bothered to connect with us in half a decade is infuriating.
This kind of predatory practice shows a complete disregard for customers' needs and highlights how Vertafore prioritizes locking in payments over actually improving their service, their platform, or their client relationships. I wouldn’t recommend Vertafore to anyone looking for a reliable and customer-focused partner. There should be an option for zero or negative stars with their level of service and empathy they deliver to a client. DO NOT USE THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!

They use their contracts to nickel and dime you. They continue to give you access to their products past the date you tell them to terminate service by design so if your staff uses it not knowing they bill you for additional months. Its like moving out of a house calling the electric company to cut off service and when you move out you leave a light switch on without knowing so the electric company keeps billing you and does not advise you of this. Its criminal. Its a shame I was with them for well over 10 years. You would think they would want to leave with a thank you for all the years. Sad. Will never recommend or go back
Customer document management
This is the worst customer service-oriented company I have ever worked with. I'm not sure how they got the contract to work with the California State Department of Insurance, but what a mistake that is as it relates to workflow and customer service. I've sent multiple documents multiple times to the new producer document portal, and they don't have them. I just received a notice that my application for a third copy of the documents is pending.

Consistent Problems
They are our client mgt system. They make you have 2 seperate log-ons for QQCatalyst and Vertafore (training/help.) Tried 2 passwords, then clicked forgot password and the response was that I had to wait at least 15 to try again. What? I don't have time for that! Consistent problems with generating accurate and consistent Certificates of Insurance as well.

Agents Beware
I was a new independent agent looking for an agency management system and rater. I signed up in December of 2022. They required a 12 month agreement which I did not realize. Their onboarding team for QQCatalyst could not get a spreadsheet of my prospects imported so I put them in manually (1000 clients), then they would not teach me how to us the program. They kept pushing me off to someone else, and instead of training me they kept apologizing. I was using PL Rater just fine. But after 4 months of not being trained to use QQ, I said I wanted out of the contract. I didn't pay for the QQ service that I didn't use. Then PL rater got cut off. After 2 more months they said they would not let me out of the contract and is now going to send me to collections. Vertafore is more interested in collecting on a 12month contract than helping you use their services, which are very expensive comparatively. It was a very unprofessional experience. Just go with another company that actually wants your business and don't sign any contracts.

They made false promises on what the system can do. I agreed on one price and hVe email communication confirming discounts and then somehow I owe $700 when I wasn’t supposed to be billed for 90 days
The product worked, but They charge you to retreive your own data
The product worked, but what I am unhappy about is that it costs $1500 for me to get a back up of my data, when I want to switch providers. There was nothing in the contract about the cost of getting my data. I know another company only charged $250 for a second copy and the first was free. So in other words they are charging me for my own data. What a rip off. I wouldn't use them or recommend them, just for this reason.

The amount of duplicate entry required to properly maintain records is atrocious. The certificate system is glitchy and missing key functions integral to how we conduct business. AMS360 is hugely overpriced and just buys up its competitors instead of doing the necessary updates to get it out of the 90s. There are cheaper and fare better out there. Keep looking.
Worst support I've ever experienced.
If there was an award for worst customer service in the insurance industry, Vertafore by Sircon would be the winner!
I have been a paying customer for a long time through a partner, and am unable to get connected with their support line, or find any support chat or email forms. When I went through the backdoor to their sales department, the level of communication I received back was horrible, and did not help me solve my problem.
Really hoping they fire their head of customer support and hire someone with a sense of what good customer support looks like.
This Company Is Trash
I use this company's PL Rating software for quoting insurance products. They recently changed their billing system and their new system generated a bill for something they claim I owed them from over 2 years previous that I never heard of. Without warning they shut down my access to the program and the system would not even tell me why I was locked out. As far as I am concerned this company robbed me. Their billing department was completely unhelpful and antagonistic. Beyond my experience with their billing, their product is awful. They frequently shut down the whole system for lengthy periods of time in the middle of workdays for maintenance. The vast majority of insurance companies don't even have their rates on the PL Rater. And the few that do don't show the requested coverages or correct rates. So, except for data management purposes, this product is completely worthless. Is there a way to give negative 5 stars?
