We purchased a used Range Rover Sport from Vertu Land Rover Nelson in November 2025, and it has been a very poor experience from start to finish.
Since purchase, the vehicle has suffered multiple faults, including a persistent key issue (which required several failed repair attempts), a fault on the drivers door, a broken fuel feeder pipe, a broken washer motor, and a suspension fault. This is completely unacceptable for a vehicle of this age and raises serious concerns about the checks carried out before sale.
Even more disappointing was the lack of customer service. We formally contacted both the dealership and head office regarding these issues and initially rejected the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, but received no response whatsoever and had to chase repeatedly. In total 4 emails have been totally ignored by both head office and the dealership. Numerous phone calls to the General Manager, Allison Reede have also been ignored.....she's always "in a meeting."
The vehicle has now been returned after further repairs, but only after significant inconvenience and effort on our part. This experience has left us with very little confidence in both the reliability of the car and the professionalism of the dealership.
We would not expect this level of faults or lack of communication from a main Land Rover dealer. Based on our experience, we would strongly advise others to think carefully before purchasing from this dealership.

This was the third LR we have bought from Vertu, or its predecessors. 4 years ago when my wife decided we were having a Defender I visited another dealership.
I was greeted with a statement as follows
WE are not offering any discount!!!!. My response was I was not aware i had asked for any!!' I did not stay long.
The JLR brand is fantastic. Expensive but fantastic. So the only real decision after model, colour etc, is who do want to supply it?
The whole experience at Vertu is about the people you deal with. Everything is explained fully, slowly if need be, and all the Tech cliches ironed out. The atmosphere around the place makes it a pleasant experience.

Having had an extremely bad experience at the beginning of 2025 I decided to give this garage a second chance.I needed work carrying out on my reg 12 Range Rover under my warranty.I booked my vehicle in 10 days before the actual date and dropped it off the night before at the garage fully believing my vehicle would be back within a couple of days .How wrong was I ? I had heard nothing by Saturday morning and on calling vertu I was informed they were waiting for my warranty company to authorise the work.My warranty company had no knowledge of vertu contacting them !!!
On the Monday 5 days after I had left my vehicle I went into vertu spoke to the service manager and subsequently I was told that vertu would contact my warranty company straight away.Within an hour my company contacted me re the work.On the Tuesday I was informed that my warranty did not cover the work on asking vertu for an estimate I was informed it would cost 1600 pounds !!
Informed them I would not be paying that amount.I made arrangement the following day to pick my car up.I was then informed I owed 245 pounds for a diagnosis .I refused to pay it due to the way I had been treated and I left the buiseness.I will not be returning for any future work.Footnote a 4x4 specialist garage quoted me a quarter of the price.i felt the customer service from vertu was poor not returning calls not updating re the work or even contacting my warranty company .

Very disappointing experience with this Land Rover dealership regarding a rear differential issue on my Range Rover SVR.
I received shifting explanations and inconsistent information about why the warranty claim was rejected – “wear and tear”, "a missed differential oil change by a previous owner". This was extremely concerning given the car has full Land Rover service history.
I was also misquoted for a service multiple times (£300 → £450 → £950 on the day of the booking). I was advised to remove certain items from the service to keep the cost down, only to later be told that one of those items (the differential oil change) could affect the warranty.
I was left believing I might have to personally cover the cost of a rear differential replacement, which would have been extremely expensive, before the warranty was eventually approved.
Communication afterwards was even worse. I raised a formal complaint on 6 February and chased again on 24 February, yet I still received no acknowledgement, no invoice and no response regarding the promised goodwill review.
Even the diagnostic fee refund was delayed and only processed after repeated follow-ups.
Overall this involved misquotes, shifting explanations, poor communication, and a complete lack of response to a formal complaint. Very disappointing service for a premium brand retailer.
