I paid vgen for work

I paid vgen for work, verified all terms and services, and received a ban without refund without any communication from vgen.
Never once did I break terms or services. I even checked with the help desk *first* to ensure that my initial inquiries to artists met vgen's terms and services.
I am a legitimate business seeking artistic talent, and I paid for services. This ban took place without review, without a refund, and with no means of communication.
The website offers minimal support.
This is the equivalent of a juvenile discord community masquerading as a genuine company.
If you are a legitimate business seeking artists, I would look elsewhere for your commissions.

Scammer Friendly

I paid for a 3D model + Rig, seller delivered a rough sketch, went away for 2 months and closed the commission.

Couldn't leave a negative review to the seller afterwards.

VGen refused to give a refund because of seller ToS.
I chargedback with mastercard, won, got permabanned.

The "verified" scammer is still operating today.

I've used vgen successfully several times, but VGen is completely useless for a buyer protection standpoint. :( They will not be able to intervene if an artist just runs off with your money after months of waiting. I'm out $80 now with a commission sitting in progress since jan 2025 and support telling me it's my fault.

Several good experiences, but VGen Support supports Scammers

I had several decent commission experiences, but the one time I needed Support, they were not only unhelpful, but downright horrendous.

I paid an artist to draw for a specific character of mine who was male. The artist had a TOS policy that said no refunds or cancellations after sketches. Unfortunately, what that policy ended up amounting to was "the artist sent me female sketches, became verbally abusive and called me names when I pointed out that the sketches did not match what I had requested, refused to draw what I had requested, marked the commission cancelled, and got to keep my money because her TOS said so."

I realize it's easy to say it's my mistake because the artist's TOS said what it said, but of course I didn't think her TOS meant she didn't have to draw what I had requested! That's supposed to be what art commissions are about. I pay someone to draw my request.

Because the artist cancelled, there's no way to provide feedback about this artist on the website to warn others.

Also, Tiana from VGen support several times misstated details of my issue because she was not able to understand it (even though it's not that complicated), and trying to get help from anyone else proved to be impossible.

Be VERY CAREFUL commissioning anyone on this site. I honestly thought VGen had buyer protections that meant if someone drew something that was different from what was requested, it would be handled accordingly, but that is not the case.

I repeat: an artist using VGen can craft their TOS in such a way that VGen support will allow them to scam you. Buyer beware!

Trustworthy site for commissions

I have used VGen since September 2024 for many commissions with different artists. I have made over 20+ of them over many months and did not have a single major problem with any of them, except delays that were communicated beforehand.

The chat system integratd to the site allows for a smooth communication between the clients and the artists. It also has the feature to save your OC or virtual persona package (visuals, color, lore ) to facilitate the commission procedure, removing the need to resubmit your design sheets at each new commission.

I would recommend commissioning verified artist first if you are unsure of the site's legitimacy !

Waited a month after I paid upfront for a commission. From 7/9/25 to 8/10/25, I never received. My user name never showed up in the work queue line, even though I had paid for it. Can't get my money back until 9/9/25, not going to wait that long.

I've given it up to a full month, that's my limit, sent an email on 8/13/25 to remove my account, do not use Vgen.

Horrible, nonexistent customer service, elitist

Horrible, nonexistent customer service. They ignore DMs for inquiry on social media when they don't have a support site or link on their actual website. I messaged them three times on X and got no reply, despite the fact that they post daily on that site to dole out artist keys because pimping out your art with them mentioned or doing their contest is the only way to be able to sell on their site. There's also no way to delete your account if you make one. No point using them, just sell your stuff by yourself.

Absolute scam who's TOS allows anyone to steal from you

Absolute scam completely robbed me with no buyer protection. Letting thieves and robbers in is just too bad they scam you.

RE: "We still have not heard back from the artist, but I have just followed up with them again. Unfortunately, there are no funds remaining in their VGen Wallet, so processing a refund looks to be difficult."

I paid for my service in October 2023 and never received anything after paying the whole amount up front. I waited over a year, but because the artist did not list a deadline, Vgen says, "Too bad. Maybe they will do it someday for you." If not, it's not too bad.

They admitted they let scammers into their site, and if they screw you over, it's just too bad, no protection at all. They have no way to do anything for you if an "artist" scammer never delivers anything.

RE: "We do our best to vet as many artists on our platform as possible, but with ~40,000 artists globally and a small team of employees, unfortunately, some slip through the cracks. "

RE: "To be completely clear, we are an online marketplace that facilitates transactions. Our policies are stated in our FAQs and TOS, along with the artist's personal TOS, which you agreed to before the transaction was made"

Their policies section legally allows anyone to take your money at any time without guarantee of anything; it is too bad they never get back to you. Anytime you try to ask them anything, they just deflect and say that they, well, our policy statement says that's too bad, and you accept it.

"We do our best to vet as many artists on our platform as possible, but with ~40,000 artists globally and a small team of employees, unfortunately, some slip through the cracks."
