Viber it’s complete rubbish. I use it to call abroad or travelling abroad to call landline numbers like consulates and utility companies. It’s totally useless as it cuts out after about 9 rings. Anyon... See more

Santiago is very very good
Santiago is very very good! Very humane and solved our problem very quickly.
Complete SCAM
Complete SCAM. Avoid at all cost. Wasn’t able to set up account. Got no response or help with this and now have been billed again after sending several requests to cancel my subscription. Received it. Awful company.
Viber is pretty useless
Viber is pretty useless. Tried using it to call my bank from overseas. No 'enter' on the number pad so couldn't enter my codes and when I hit the speakerphone button nothing happens. They could have swept the market after Skype went, but they're a complete disappointment.
they're crooks
they're crooks, never use viber out, it's a scam.
when you make a phone call, you'll end up talking to someone else, they switch to another phone number to steal your money
Calls don't go through, you get charged
They are stealing money for calls that never happened. The cutoffs, the interruptions, the beeping, the repeating... It's all gotten to be a little bit too much. On top of that, they are stealing money for the calls that were never established. No one picks up on the other side, but Viber charges you money anyway.
TOTAL SCAM!!!!!
TOTAL SCAM!!!!!! Paid for credit, won't allow me to log in, ZERO HELP from customer service and won't get a refund.
Does not work
8 out of 10 times I cannot get through to an international number. Often the call cuts out when I do finally manage to get through. I am not sure what I am paying this service for. Utterly useless.
Beware — Misleading Subscription and Poor Support
I used Rakuten Viber just once to make an international call from the UK to Portugal, but soon after, I received an email saying “Welcome to Viber, thanks for the subscription” — even though I never intended to subscribe.
I immediately tried to cancel, but their website makes it nearly impossible to do so. For the last three months, I’ve been charged repeatedly and still can’t cancel my plan. I’ve contacted their support several times by email but haven’t received any proper response.
It feels like a deliberate trap — very poor transparency and support. Be cautious before using their services or entering any payment details.
Horrible Customer Service!
Customer Service reps are horrible to communicate with. Not only will Viber provide poor connection (disconnections, overlapping, repeating, beeping, etc.), but it will put up fake offers on the phone so you end up paying more, then customer service will play dumb and tell you the fees are higher because they are in different currency. For example, you choose the $9.99 offer (obviously in USD), but it prompts you to pay $12.99 at the checkout (obviously again in USD). They play dumb when you bring the issue to them. Money grabbing thieves. Call the bank and ask for a refund if they refuse to issue one. It's not like they are a poor start up company; they are owned by Rakuten and have enough money to live up to our expectations, especially since you end up paying approximately 50 cents per minute and even more in your time.
Scammers
Scammers! Took the credit for making an international call then I had to wait fo a call to complete the app registration that never came.
Avoid!
Stay away from this company. Purchased credit to make international call but couldn't get access to my account. Registration is failed because my mobile phone number wasn't recognized. They don't respond to your messages either.
I do not recommend the Viber service
I do not recommend the Viber service. I had some incidents that they were unable to resolve and they always answered the same thing. My phone was stolen and they could not recover the credit on that phone. Afterwards, I changed my number in the application and I also lost the credit. I tried to claim it and they directed me to Apple to receive a refund. They assured me that it was Viber who had access to the data and that I should specify that I wanted to recover the account. Viber could not recover the account and the credit was lost.
Ripped off;
Ripped off;
I signed for a free 1 week trial.
The connection was poor, really bad. On top of that, the service is expensive. After I canceled, I was charged for a full month, and was unable to get a refund. Useless and dishonest.
Scam, you won't get past verification, no refunds
Similar experience as the other reviewers. Call never came through, and support does not cancel nor refund. I had to go with a different app to make my call and it worked immediately with the verification call coming through without issues (Yolla). I wish I had checked Tru
Problems with connection
At first, Viber was a good alternative to other messengers (light, fast, no connection issues). Then Rakuten came along, and with it came ads, spam, and the messenger's expansion into a massive machine, the core of the experience took a backseat: constant connection drops, and video calls became inconvenient (disconnects, hang-ups). I used to be a fan of Viber, but now I advise against it.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THIS MAY BE A SCAM
Useless app. Doesn't work. They are supposed to call us to activate, which doesn't happen. It's a scam . I am cancelling my account. But support is yet to contact me two days after contacting them.
This is most likely similar to a Nigerian scam.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I would give 0 star
I would give 0 star, if there is that option.
For Skype alternative, I paid for Viber Out to make some international calls. Not knowing what this company is like, I just paid CAD5 to get the call credit.
I needed to call Amex Hong Kong, so dialled. Amex Hong Kong got connected, and asked me to choose the language by pressing 1 for English, 2 for xx, 3 for xx. I pressed 1, but the system does not recognize it and keeps repeating, then beeping.
I filled out a form Viber asked us to fill, as Viber does not have any tel no to contact. Their web says they will call back. It has been more than 24 hrs, but no one has called.
I am glad to have paid only CAD 5. What kind of monkey business is this?!
I miss Skype!!
Viber Out Service…
Paid for Viber Out Credits to make calls from overseas except there are some technical issues that they don't when or whether these will be rectified and they won't refund my money even though they can't provide service - pathetic company and best to avoid. I find it interesting with negative reviews when the company being review care so little that they ignore instead of engaging with customers and trying to fix an issue - pretty much show who this company are.
Don't buy this app
They continued to ignore me for months regarding subscription cancellation is not possible neither in their app or website. Not until I asked how to delete my account would they reply to me as to how to delete my account and no longer charge me.
It is a scam app - Do Not pay anything for it
It is a scam app, it cannot make any international calls regardless your subscription / credit.
All calls will be failed.
Not sure why they are not banned / sued on Play store still..
