The worst ever communications company

The worst ever communications company. They are thieves. I requested an upgrade of my phone based on a promotion . They took my IPhone 14 which I had a plan, They gave An upgraded phone, & they are charging me 900$ for the phone they took back which they should not have. Will be tasking legal actions. Do not trust them !!!!!!

Ported my number from Fido to Videotron…

Ported my number from Fido to Videotron and everything worked fine for a month. Then the number just stopped working. No explanation. No help. Radio silence. So I tried to port back to Fido and since the number was no longer accessible the port failed because you need to say YES to a text to the ported number. After many days and hours on hold I am still waiting for this number to become usable again. All of my accounts (bank, etc.) are unaccessible because this number is used to authenticate them. I will never use Videotron again.

Very incompetent

I've been a Videotron customer for seven years, consistently opting for the US-Canada plan due to my connections across the border. Despite their competitive pricing in comparison to Bell and Rogers, my experience with Videotron has been highlighted by consistently poor customer service.

When they introduced Wi-Fi calling, it took them two years to activate it on my account, citing an error that was eventually traced back to my outdated SIM card. In August 2023, attracted by their advertised new plans offering more data at a slightly lower cost on cross-border plans, I decided to switch. However, this decision turned into a nightmare.

Upon receiving an email with a new contract password supposedly linked to my "street number and zip code," I discovered it didn't work, regardless of letter case. Despite my calls it was not fixed. It turns out they had completely botched the plan switch, downgrading me from a US cross-border plan to a regular one. This, unbeknownst to me, resulted in a significant increase in my monthly bill, soaring from $70 to $120-$140 monthly.

When I confronted them about the unexpected charges, they insisted it was the plan I had chosen. Frustrated, I highlighted the absurdity of willingly switching to a more expensive plan while maintaining the same usage pattern with he US. They refused to acknowledge their mistake and offered a mere $75 credit.

Attempting to cancel the service proved equally exasperating. Opting for cancellation led to endless hours on hold, conveniently extending beyond their service hours. Requests to speak with a manager are futile, as agents redirected my inquiries to meaningless discounts that, after taxes, ended up costing the same.

In conclusion, steer clear of Videotron. Their incompetence and lack of respect for customers make them a company to avoid, much like steering clear of fire.

Awful!

Awful!! I stopped my contract with them cause at some point I had 3 lines under my name so I won't call monthly to ask why is my bill higher than it should. I went with another company so that texted me to return the phone or they will charge me 300$. I kept the phone thinking that they will deduct the amount as usual from my credit card but no I just received an email threatening to give my file to the collection if I don't pay 800$ that I don't understand why. They don't call and explain as professional the situation. They email invoices thinking the customer gets it. I actually don't get why do I HAVE TO PAY THAT AMOUNT AND WHY ARE YOU THREATENING INSTEAD OF CALLING. My kids have 3 lines with them still and I will ask them to change their company as well.
Very disapointed!!@videotron

Absolute dogsh*t service.

Absolute dogsh*t service.

It's 2023. In a rich, western country.

Yet the network is still awful, packets get dropped, service cuts out randomly a few minutes at a time (fantastic if you're working remote or playing an online game).

I just came back from living 4 years in South America, and in almost all of the third world countries I was in, the internet quality was far superior to this.

It's really pathetic, considering how wildly expensive ISP services are in Canada in relation to the rest of the world, that our infrastructure and the quality of the service is so incredibly awful.

Of course, none of this will ever change, and these companies will keep gouging the middle class out of more of their income, while the CEOs pay themselves million dollar bonuses.

The whole Canadian telecom industry needs to be burned down and turned over to international players who have proven they provide better quality service, at better prices, everywhere else in the world.

Scam company

Took 45 when I signed up. Took another 45 on November 1st when services were supposed to be set up. They have now refused to provide the service, and refuse to refund my money or send return labels. Now I have to dispute it with my bank.

Scummy company. Stay away.

Enormous bill

Regular use of roaming usualy It is blocked at 100 cad limit.This tme it was not.No notifications or warnings etc..bill is close to 2000 .00 for a 4 hours of use.

I have been with Videotron for many…

I have been with Videotron for many years. When I first started with them the service wasn't great but I heard that Bell was worse so I stayed with them. For at least the last 5 years and probably more, the service has been excellent and my Helix equipment works very well. I just increased my internet speed to the max with the help of Luc. He was very patient and fine tuned it for me. Thanks Luc

Bad service..if you ever have their service make sure when you get out to take a letter from them that you owe them zero…more than a year after I moved out of their service they sent me a letter from collection that I owe them $47.00 !! It seems that they are going broke and started to generate whatever money they could from old accounts… my advice is stay away from this cheap company..

Cancelled my internet services and gave the agent a very good review when asked by Videotron. Actually as it turns out he didn't tell me the whole truth.
Unable to pay my last bill with my credit card because they have closed my account over a week before the due date.
Contacted them by phone regarding this issue and was told that my due date is October 10 which is actually also false since it is September 19.
Definately a lot of room to improve customer service .

Dishonest

I called them to cancel my home phone line that cost $35/mth. Manager offered me to keep it at half price. I agreed. A month later the bill came in at same price. Called back. First they told me there was nothing on records but finally admitted i had called a month ealier. Well they changed their mind and decided not to honor their offer. Can’t be more sleazy and dishonest.

A JOKE

This company is a freaking joke. Major outage for Videotron's Helix services on Sept 1st 2023 in Quebec City. We were out for almost the whole day. As someone who works from home, this is obviously a nightmare. Reached out to get compensation; online chat agent is 100% gaslighting me, saying the outage lasted 10 minutes instead of freaking 12 hours. Had to call to speak to a supervisor; was put on hold I don't know how many times and the line ended up cutting twice. Trashhhh service.

Customer Service made me cry

The customer service is very much a hit or MISS lately. I’ve been a client for years & years. Since 2-3 years, they believe you’re automatically in the wrong or don’t know what you’re talking about. I called about some information on my new plan and the representative was so aggravated and unprofessional that it made me have a panic attack. She misunderstood what I was asking then started repeating the same useless information and got extremely patronizing and aggravated (due to her own misunderstanding). I have an anxiety disorder and I broke down crying at how unnecessarily rude she was. It’s almost like they talk to you like you’re an idiot when it’s really them - I had to explain what I meant using the same method I use with my toddler. The moment she realized that she messed up, she tried to tell me I was to blame although I was using the same exact terminology as her. Thank god I wrote her name down. I can’t believe I have to fear the customer service from my provider.
