Fascinating learning experience in a lovely environment
We did a Celtic Knot workshop with Vigour and Skills in March 2026. It was a fantastic experience. The workshop is in rural Oxfordshire, but very accessible, and is a warm and welcoming creative space. Warning: next door to the workshop is a crafts shop with lots and lots of beautiful things, so bring your credit card!
There were 9 lovely people in our session - one more than usual - but we all had plenty of space and were all given personal attention as needed from Laurence, our tutor. All equipment was provided and at the end of the day we had our work to take home as a memento of the day. To be honest, mine turned out so much better than I had expected, friends and family can now all expect to receive a hand-made celtic knot rope placemat for Christmas this year...
Overall, it was a brilliant experience, and I'm looking forward to discovering what else I can learn at Vigour and Skills in the future.

Handmade ceramic bowl…
I purchased a hand made ceramic bowl which is absolutely perfect. I love it. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my purchase arrived considering it was from out of the Country. I've purchased from Vigour and Skills before and have always been pleased and I highly recommend them!

Just to clarify for anyone reading, the studio was heated on the day, but we completely understand that everyone feels temperature differently. We always encourage guests to let us know during the session if they’d like the room a bit warmer, we are more than happy to adjust things on the spot.

Excellent workshop
We had a really great experience at Vigour & Skills with Rachel making clay Christmas decorations. Very relaxed and calm. I can’t wait to see the final fired ornaments. The venue is such a lovely space. I would definitely do another course here and would recommend.

Fabulous independent store
A lovely store selling unique products. I bought a gorgeous jug made by an independent potter and it is beautiful. Arrived quickly and very well packaged with a personal thank you note from the potter. Highly recommend.
