Our family-run second-hand bike business was established in 2010 and was previously called Oxford’s Reconditioned Bicycles. We are located at The Village Shop, Stanton St John. Richard is in charge of the bike workshop and Rowan runs the village shop and is available to help with telephone queries. Bikes are available to view here on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11.00 am-3 pm. Or by appointment on Saturday & Sunday and with free delivery to Oxford at other times. The 108 bus from Oxford city stops right outside the shop! All second-hand bikes are serviced to ensure trouble-free cycling for you and are covered by a 30-day warranty (excluding punctures). Our sources of second-hand bikes are buy-backs from departing students, local bike shops offering part exchanges, a social enterprise teaching bicycle repair, and another supplier receiving bicycles donated to a local authority recycling centre. We offer low-cost options but trusted brands with good quality components provide the best cycling experience for you.

10/10 second hand bicycle store
Richard is a very caring, helpful and supportive man. I bought a second hand bicycle from Village Shop (and a one month warranty)and he helped at everytime I have problems with the bicycle. I suggest everyone in Oxford to contact with this man who is looking for a second hand bike !!
Very good value for money
Very good value for money. Over the past few years, I've turned into a reasonably mediocre age group triathlete, so I do prioritise having a very good bike to ride on, but refuse to pay thousands of pounds on a carbon bike. Richard sold me one of the lightest aluminium bikes ever made (Principia...from the country that invented aluminium) at a very good price, and so far, it's served me brilliantly. He's selling very good second hand bikes, is very responsive, and is always ready to help fix stuff if needed. These days, I don't see myself buying bikes from anyone else.
Great service at the village bike shop
Richard was really friendly and helpful. He provided a reconditioned bike for my Son to use at University. Good value and well maintained bike. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a well prepared reconditioned bike.
Great Deals and Quality Products
I’m very happy with this purchase. The gears shift smoothly and the brakes are responsive, making it a reliable choice.
For the price, I think it’s a great value. I’ve been using it regularly, and so far it has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!
Great service and communications
This is the second time I've bought a bike with Richard and both times have been great. Richard was very helpful and responsive with communications. When delivery for the bike I purchased was delayed, he even arranged an interim loan bike that saved my work week. Have recommended him to all my friends - excellent service for Oxford and surrounds.
Richard is a star
Richard had kept my old bike running for years with frequent transplants of second-hand parts. When it was time for a full replacement, he found an excellent fit for my needs, and refurbished it to ‘good as new’ standard. Super service, very reliable and affordable

Hidden Gem!
This shop is a hidden gem.... friendly and incredible customer service.
My son and grandson had picked bikes out online, made an appointment, then tried them out..... and bought both.
I came along for the visit, had not previously picked out a bike and inquired if there might be one available.
Owner took measure of my size, searched for 10 minutes in his rear shop and produced a nearly new GT for me to try...
Left bike for a few days so it could be serviced and was very, very appreciative that he could deliver it.
I truly appreciated this owner's effort to accommodate me on the spot... though in the future I promise to go online!
The whole family loves their new bikes!
Many thanks!
Excellent service
Excellent service - good advice and high quality bike in very good condition delivered to my home.
Would highly recommend.
Great second hand bicycles.......
We looked at new bikes at Halfords, most of which were out of stock and to be honest were not that cheap and not good quality either. Looked around for a good second hand bicycle shop and found Village Shop Bicycles with a selection of good quality bikes and much better quality than a cheap new bike. Messaged Richard who replied quickly and arranged to meet him and look at a bike for my 14 year old son. The bike was in very good condition, Richard had replaced the back wheel and gear hub and my son was very happy with his new purchase. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you for the bike
Very nice experience with Richard and Rowan who are lovely people, and the refurbished bike I bought was in perfect condition. Lovely little village shop also where you can buy snacks for your bike ride home.
Great service and price.
Richard sorted me out with a nice work bike at the right price that just needed little fettling.
Back and home and cleaned up like new, just what I was after, happy customer.
Wonderful Experience
Great feedback and customer service. The bike matches perfectly the image in the website.
