I couldn’t recommend Mr Maurino, his team and Moorfields Private Eye Hospital more. The hands on service from the beginning made me feel very at ease, and the options and laser surgery procedure was explained very thoroughly. This was also in the middle of the pandemic with his support staff great at communicating any updates to appointments moving. The procedure went well and I felt I was in safe hands, and the after care superb. Mr Maurino was around on his personal number should I have any questions (which I did!) and even answered on the weekend to reassure me about my recovery timeline. You get what you pay for with this service, and it is the best money I’ve ever spent now having 20-20 vision and an expert team to take me through the process. Thank you Vincenzo!

Efficient consultant and successful operation carried out

I underwent vision correction surgery with Mr Maurino. Both eyes were treated and the care from beginning to end was exceptional. I was kept fully informed in terms of expectations and felt comfortable to ask for clarification and additional information. I was well cared for during the procedures and staff were responsive to my needs. The results are outstanding - I am astounded at the clarity of vision and extremely grateful.

I had bilateral Laser Vision Correction by Femto-LASIK from Mr Maurino on 12 July 2022. It's now 6/7 weeks later and I am absolutely delighted with the outcome.

I have had astigmatism most of my adult life and over the past few years also developed presbyopia (age related long sightedness). Following the procedure my distance and near vision are now perfect. I am now completely free of glasses and lenses. Like a lot of people I wish I had done this sooner.

I would also like to commend all the staff who assist Mr Maurino - in particular Aneel Suri who ensured my prescription was correct prior to the surgery.

The procedure itself was quick and pain free. I had mild discomfort for a few hours afterwards but a lot less than I expected. The improvement in my vision the day after the procedure was astounding. I was walking around with a huge smile on my face!

Overall I am very happy that I used Moorfields Hospital and I have recommended Mr Maurino's services to several friends.

Cataract surgery.
I would recommend Mr Maurino. Prior to the surgery, he decided to run different analysis to assess the situation and form a clear diagnosis. I liked his approach. This confirmed the need for the surgery and at the end everything went well.

Fantastic service and technology – felt in good hands throughout.

I went for a consultation to free myself from contact lenses - it was recommended that I had trans PRK surgery, which was nerve-wracking but has ended up being the best decision I've made. Dr. Maurino and all of his staff were very helpful and informative, the surgery itself was much better than I anticipated. Whilst recovery is slower with trans PRK, I was given great aftercare and all of the best medicines/advice to help. After 3 months, I now have better than 20:20 vision and couldn't rate Dr. Maurino or his team more highly

I had the Trans-PRK procedure to correct my near sighted vision in April 2022. The process that Mr Maurino’s and team provided involved an initial consultation, where my eyes and vision were checked and the most appropriate surgery for me was outlined. I was then able to book the surgery very easily at the date and time of my choosing, with detailed information on the procedure, what to do to minimize complications and ensure the most efficient recovery. The surgery day itself involved receiving the prescribed drops and then almost immediately after heading in to have the surgery - which was very quick - with the team guiding/instructing throughout. Time had to be taken off of work for one week to allow for recovery. There was some fluctuation of pain in the eyes for several days following, but this was to be expected as it was explained during the initial consultation. The drops provided helped massively to deal with this discomfort too. I was seeing much better after only a few weeks. 3 months following the surgery, I had a check up with similar tests to the initial consultation. Here it was explained to me that I had surpassed 20/20 vision. With the health and vision of my eyes being very good I was discharged from the practice, but Mr Maurino stated that should I notice any issues to not hesitate to contact his practice. Several months on, my eyes still do get dry easily, but this again was expected, and is a very minor discomfort that can be resolved with eye drops. Overall I am very happy with the service, there was little waiting, everything was very straightforward, explained well and to the point. I cannot praise enough the life changing work of Mr Maurino and the team!

I have myopia, keratoconus, glaucoma, astigmatism and because of ulcers on the cornea, had corneal grafts carried out 26 years ago.
These conditions had not impacted on my life in any way until a few years ago when I developed cataracts and my sight rapidly got worse. I could see almost nothing without my contact lenses which I've worn since I was a teenager but was told by specialists that cataract removal would be very risky. I researched the best cataract surgeons and Mr Maurino's profile really stood out.
At Moorfields, Mr Maurino carefully explained the procedure in detail and with professionalism and confidence. He made it clear that I would still have to wear contact lenses afterwards because of my other problems, but I was happy with that as long as the cataracts were gone.
After the procedure on the first eye, I was absolutely amazed at how well I could see without the contact lens. I did not expect such a fantastic result! It was just unbelievable. Now the other eye has been done and the result is almost as good.
All my life I was told by optometrists that I could never wear glasses, only contact lenses. Now I can choose to wear either glasses or contacts to give me 20/20 vision. How many people are delighted to be told they can wear glasses? I only need them for reading or driving and can do without them for most things.
I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Maurino and his team. The whole experience went very smoothly and although the 5 return flights from Belfast increased the cost, it was worth every penny!

A top professional whose approach before, during and post surgery made me feel reassured, safe and confident that I was in excellent hands. Excellent practical support too from Mr Maurino's assistant. I am delighted with the outcome and glad that I plucked up the courage to go ahead.
