Scam Delivery

Vinesse shipped us wine we did not order, charged our credit card without authorization, did not respond until after the return deadline, and told us to dispute the charge, which they then contested. FOR A PRODUCT WE NEVER ORDERED!!!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. They are a subscription service you may have trouble cancelling, as I did.
They owe me $168.65 and the only way to communicate is via email, as you cannot get a live person by phone. The issue:
(1) I placed 1st order on 5/7/23, paying by cr card. (2)Their written cancellation policy is 30 DAYS FROM 1ST ORDER DATE TO CANCEL or your card will be automatically charged again.
(3) ON 5/30/23 I CANCELLED BY EMAIL (w/in the 30 day period), which they acknowledged.
(4) BUT- they had already billed my card $168.65 for another shipment, which I did not want, nor was home to receive, as I was out of town caring for a family member.
(5) The shipment was returned, but they refused to refund my card, which they ILLEGALLY charged.
(6) I disputed the chg with my cr card co., but Vinesse lied about having received cancellation.
They told my card issuer that they would only give a future credit, which is not what I want, nor agreed to
STAY AWAY!

WATCH YOUR ACOOUNT! DO NOT USE

My grandmother is recently deceased, and had charges that said PAYPAL ACH on her account after she passed away. She has had over $1,000 deducted from her account since she has passed. She did not have a computer or an email address. I contacted PAYPAL, It was not PAYPAL deducting from her account, it was Vinesse wines. going back, she had put a stop payment on Vinesse in 2017, and they changed the vendor name on her account and have charged her over $6,000 in the past year. They took advantage of a senior citizen, and stole money from her. Reporting to BBB.

Signed up for the United bonus offer…

Signed up for the United bonus offer while abroad. As I read the fine print, I knew to cancel the membership as soon as my first order was processed. I emailed them to delay the shipment for my order as I wouldn’t be back in the country to sign for the alcohol, which was processed without a problem. I received my first order but before I knew it, I was charged over $175 for the “next” order, which I very intentionally made sure not to have on auto-renewal as I know of these common scam practices by subscription companies. I emailed customer service and was helped by Brian Ferrer, who said that he could not cancel my order as it has to be done prior to processing. I told him I had cancelled weeks before and he said he couldn’t find proof of that in emails despite me providing the cancellation confirmation number, which proves that either Brian doesn’t want to take the 30 seconds to look into their records for the confirmation number or that they don’t keep records and that the cancellation page is bogus. Either way, I’ll be filing a chargeback and reporting to the BBB if not processed by EOD.

TERRIBLE COMPANY TRYING TO CON PEOPLE

TERRIBLE COMPANY TRYING TO CON PEOPLE

This company has no sense of ethical practices
The only way they are making money is sneakily shipping a $30/wine bottle which i heard taste as bad as the company’s practices
No communication what so ever about shipments ( as i said sneaky)
Very poorly functioning website( again very intentionally)
They only have couple of representatives like JEFFREY who is terrible with the way they handle the issues
There are many better tasting and better ethical subscriptions out there like WSJ.
Choose wisely and stay away from the scam that is VINESSE

Absolutely terrible company

Absolutely terrible company! They will do anything and everything to trick you into what you’re actually paying. Don’t be fooled by the low membership fee. Because after your first shipment they charge $189 per order and won’t refund you! Incredibly rude and condescending customer service.

This is extremely disappointing

This is extremely disappointing! Despite trying to cancel the order immediately after realizing the error, they refused to provide a refund, even though the order has not even been shipped or processed yet. This is not what I expect from a company that claims to offer exceptional customer service. It's frustrating to think that I'm now stuck with an order that I don't want, and I have no way to get my money back. It's a shame that they can't be more understanding and accommodating of their customers' needs.

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience. Had a membership in 2022 that was cancelled. Was sent a promo offer for 6 bottles and instead of charging me the promo price it charged me $129.99 for 6 bottles. Call the next day asking to cancel the shipment and refund the money because $22 a bottle is greatly overpriced for these bottles and "Jeffrey" says no refunds are possible as its already been been sent to the warehouse. Then says the best he can do is for me to refuse the shipment and give me site credit. I dont want your site credit with your crazy prices i want this to be refunded. I told him i did not sign up for a membership and he said it was reactivated and that if i had clicked on a hyperlink that led me to another page that it would have shown me that. I said i will call back to speak to someone else and asked him to not pick up the phone and he says it has to be him. I have called back 3 times and everytime its him and his smarmy attitude. Please refund my money and take your overpricee wine back. Thank you.

I cancelled my "membership" with them…

I cancelled my "membership" with them right after receiving first order. Then I got auto billed for the hext time. I called on the day it happened and they would not cancel. So I had them stop the membership and keep the $40 credit. I got around to ordering from them again and tried to use the $40 which their system did not allow me to do. I called and was told that it would be refunded. They say it didn't go through but they would not try it again. SO I call "customer service" and get someone with a high opinion of himself and says they could mail me a check in 30-45 days. This company is a sham. They are full of it at every turn. They might as well be selling insurance.

I joined, I left

I joined, using a special offer which was to include 6 wines plus 2 bottles of another well rated wine. Order came with 2 bottles of a different wine than promised, but they do have a disclaimer that they have the right to substitute if wines are unavailable. Still, there was no note or explanation why the original promised wines were replaced. I canceled my membership, but not in time to cancel next shipment. So we get the next shipment and it has 2 of the same bottles that were sent in the first order, 3 Syrahs (not much variation or new wines here). Hate that I have to pay for this order, and glad I cancelled. We also use First Leaf and they’ve been amazing, sending new wines every time, with detailed wine description cards for each wine. A much better choice, in my opinion. Edited to note response from Vinesse: I did receive a call from a CS rep from Vinesse after they read this review. They offered me a partial refund for the 2nd shipment, and will send 2 additional bottles of wine to replace the duplicates. I don’t need to return anything. I appreciated the call and their willingness to work with me.

Scam!!!Sent second box 2 weeks early and would not accept responsibility for its return.
There was only 2 weeks between receiving the first and second box of wine.
I was told when I wanted to return the wine I had to pay for shipping. I disputed the charge and was then told it was to late to return the wine!!!!

Hi There, Thanks for being part of Vinesse and we are so sorry about the issue with your account. We were able to locate your account and see that your first shipment was immediately initiated on 3/16/22 and your second shipment processed exactly 4 weeks later, on 4/13/22. We see that the package was signed for and accepted, so we are unable to issue a refund of the box, however we are certainly happy to take the shipment back, if you would like to return it to us. We appreciate your time, and are available to assist at 800-823-5527 or via email at service@vinesse.com. Cheers!

Bad (or badly communicated) policies, good wines

Good wines? Yes. Do you want to have to tell a "wine club" that you're going out of town so that they don't ship you $150 worth of overpriced wine and quote policy when you ask for a refund? Then don't sign up. I signed up for the airline miles. By the time you get done getting screwed by the fine print of "automatic enrollment" and pre-notification if you're not going to be around to receive shipments, you'd be better off to buy a wine tote for $20 and some airline miles.

Smells like a scam to me!

They say you shouldn't just a wine by the label, but the ugly labels on these wines reflect the inferior quality of what's in them. They're from their "own wineries" which makes one think they buy the cheapest overflows from other places and mix them up in their basement. Seriously, any wine from Vinesse is crap.

Vinesse knows their wines suck and it shows on their website. You want to cancel your subscription? Good luck finding where to do it. If you search and search eventually you will find that you must email them to cancel, even though you can buy with one click!

They pull you in with a great offer for their monthly club, but two-weeks after your initial order arrives, they send out your next order, with no notice.

But, hey, on top of all this you get to pay more than any other wine club for their inferior wines, so there's that! They try to make you think it's a deal, but then they add on "shipping" charges and some sort of "compliance fee" so that you're paying more than $30 a bottle. For wine that tastes like crap.

I hope, unlike me, you're researching them before you buy... cause now you know that you should never ever ever buy any wines from Vinesse!

Send IT Back; It's Corked

I've tried a number of wine clubs and I have to say Vinesse is way down the list. If I was Robert Parker, I'd give it, say, a 42. Harsh on the palate with notes of poor customer interface, mediocre quality and delayed delivery. I'd put this back on the shelf and see if it matures. On the other hand, why bother? Stick with a club that cares, like Naked Wines.

Much better options out there

I decided to try out some of the different wine supscriptions. This was by far the worst. After placing my initial order I wasn't impressed with the wines and cancelled within a week of receiving them. I got a confirmation email saying it had been cancelled but the next day another charge showed up on my card. After going back and forth with customer service they insisted that I had reactived my account. I asked them to remove my account information so I can't be charged again but decided to just keep the wines to avoid the hassel. Today the wine arrived and it was only 2 bottles not 4. Can't believe they charged me $55 for 2 bottles of subpar wine. This company is a rip off!
