Be careful of the details!

I had an excellent recruitment process with David Bassett (David) who linked me with my current role at 6point6. David supported me through the 3 interviews and was always ready to broker the conversation with the HR team.
The problem I have found since being placed with 6point6, is the details about the package being offered did not line up with the details being experienced. This centers around a bonus range given to me by David during the recruitment process. The range was stated as 10-22% which I believed to be generous and worth the extra effort in terms of performance.
Unfortunately my start date meant I did not qualify for the bonus in my first year, so had to wait 15 months to be eligible. This is when I was told the details of the bonus scheme being operated. 0-15%, much lower range and the possibility of getting nothing, a much different prospect.
Hoping I could be assisted into understanding what had changed or why the numbers were different, I found a very different David on the other end of my communication. He seemed to be very evasive and tried to obfuscate the line of inquiry with performance management quotes, the bonus is discretionary and that I must speak to my HR department as it has nothing to do with him.
Sadly I will have to approach a legal team to get to the bottom of this, but please, everyone check the details being given with the potential employer.
I will not be using David's service again.

Hi James,
I’ve communicated openly on this over the last couple of weeks and I haven’t responded in the last week as I have been on a family holiday.
I’ve spoken to the talent team and explained the mistake I made of communicating the 10-22% range to you and that it was 0-15% that can be achieved.

The discretionary bonus you may get is a chat with the business moving forwards based around performance variables

Blew Away my Expectations

After getting contacted by several recruiters a month, and most of them being less than stellar, I was skeptical when I saw a message from David. However, he blew my expectations away. From his transparency to communication style, it was all amazing. He gave me insights during the process and prepared me every step of the way. In the end I was able to get a job I thought was next to impossible to ever get. I can not recommend working with David enough.

Great Communication

David was fantastic to work with. He kept constant communication with me during a lengthy interview process, and helped me understand expectations every step of the way. This is extra amazing considering that we aren't even on the same continent! I would work with him again in a heartbeat.

Amazing recruitment team!

The recruitment team I worked with at Vintage were great. Really knowledgable, approachable, responsive and represented me in a very professional fashion.

I'd 100% recommend them to help any business find IT talent, or for someone looking for a job in the IT industry.

One of the best IT recruiting experiences. David guided me through the process perfectly, providing notes and helping every step of the way, but without being pushy, always respecting and understanding my decissions.

David provides a great service…

David provides a great service positioning architects for his clients, establishing a precise scope of the role and paying great attention to detail throughout the recruitment process. Speaking from an architect perspective, David ensures the candidate is well prepared for interviewing and establishes constructive feedback from both candidate and client.

Great support and communication throughout each and every step.

Vintage Recruitment has offered me the best recruitment service to date.

When I was first approached by them, I was offered a potential job opportunity to work for a big company (one that I could only ever dream of) and had a three-stage process as part of the application.

Before the application had started, I was given some great, in-depth advice on how my CV could be improved and tailored for the role. Doing this, ensured that my application had every chance to get through that first door (which it did).

I was given more tips and notes for preparation, and the communication with Vintage has been prompt and consistent throughout each stage of the process. For example, advice was given on what things to expect, what things to improve upon, and general coaching to get me through the stages.

Although I did not get the job in the end (down to my own experience level), the communication did not stop there. I was still given vital feedback on why this was, and how I could improve myself and learn from this for future roles.

These guys have really set a standard for recruiters in this industry and have provided me with a great experience despite the result. I hope that all recruitment companies come as good as Vintage.

Great experience!

David, of Vintage Global, reached out to me last year, out of the blue about a software architect role in my home town. As a consultant, I was always considering new opportunities, but generally only ones offering the variety that comes with consulting and gig work. After talking with David, however, I seriously began to consider settling down into the-long term position. He conveyed an understanding of the role, technologies and culture I'd be walking into that far exceeded what you'd typically learn from a recruiter parroting a job description. He sold me on the idea of the job.

With the position being a leadership role, frequently working with C-suite members, the interview process involved quite a few meetings with individuals having extremely busy schedules. Despite being located 4000 miles from where I live and work, David and his team managed interactions in a timely manner that worked well for both me and the candidate employer. I had a few special requirements that he spared me having to negotiate directly. Plus, I was in a contract gig I wanted to wrap up smoothly without rushing out the door. David managed to keep the company interested in me despite the process taking several weeks longer than the candidate employer what hoping.

I have been with the new employer for a bit over a year and a half and am quite happy. The job actually is what David said it was. Further, my employer has told me that the fee paid to find me was worthwhile. The entire experience was markedly better than my prior recruitment experiences as a consultant. On average, I've found that recruiters' understanding of an opportunity can sometimes be a bit shallow, leaving me to do the bulk of the vetting. Clearly, David and Vintage Global understand their clients' wants and needs and communicate well at all the levels necessary to match great candidates with great opportunities.

Working with David is always a pleasure. David introduced me to one of his clients and represented my candidature in a very professional manner. He came across as a knowledgeable, polite, helpful, and organised person. He kept me very well informed throughout all stages of the recruitment process. He has always been available to answer my question regardless of the time and day of the week.

I've known Vintage and espcially Dave for several years now. I've found him to be open, honest and very straighforward. I have no issue recommending him and Vintage. He has helped build my profile through the blogs he does which is a massive personal benefit.
