We sold a real PS5 on Vinted — Chronopost Recorded 4.75kg but We Were Still Banned for “Probable Fraud”

We sold a real PS5 Slim through Vinted and fully documented the shipment:

* photos/videos before shipping,
* serial number,
* packaging process,
* sealed parcel with Chronopost label.

The buyer later claimed the parcel arrived empty in Annecy and said he had recorded a full opening video. However, we never received the original video file — only screenshots/photos through Vinted messaging.

One major issue: Vinted messaging apparently does not properly allow video sharing, which makes it extremely difficult to prove or verify “empty parcel” claims.

At the same time, Chronopost verbally confirmed that the parcel maintained a transport weight of approximately 4.75 kg throughout shipment, with no reported anomaly. But Chronopost refused to provide written confirmation directly to us, stating that only Vinted has access to their dedicated professional dispute system.

Despite this:

* Vinted permanently blocked the account for “probable fraud”;
* access to the dispute history disappeared;
* and after multiple emails, we only received generic replies without any clear explanation regarding:

* the buyer’s alleged video,
* the Chronopost weight data,
* or the exact evidence used for the decision.

Very frustrating and extremely opaque process, especially for high-value electronics transactions.

A Review of Vinted (2026)

I’ve been using Vinted for several years, and before 2025–2026, the platform was excellent: smooth, user-friendly, and reliable. The overall experience was seamless and enjoyable for both buying and selling.

However, since 2026, everything has changed drastically. It’s clear Vinted has heavily relied on AI/robots for moderation, monitoring, and risk control — and this system is seriously flawed and full of loopholes.

The biggest problem: malicious users and sellers file false, abusive reports — and the AI immediately deletes listings, restricts, or bans accounts with NO human review at all. It acts blindly, harshly, and unfairly, with zero investigation or appeal. This is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. There’s no logic, no fairness, and no respect for legitimate users.

As a long-time user, my experience has gotten worse and worse. I no longer feel safe or valued on Vinted. I’m seriously considering stopping all activity here because the platform no longer works for honest buyers and sellers.

My advice to Vinted:
If you insist on using AI for moderation and risk control, make sure it’s actually mature, accurate, and well-developed — comparable to top-tier AI systems. Until your AI can distinguish false reports from real issues and work with human oversight, don’t use it. Otherwise, you’ll drive away all your trusted buyers and sellers, and the platform will collapse.

I hope Vinted listens and fixes this urgently.

Very disappointing experience with…

Very disappointing experience with Vinted

I never received my package, yet the order was automatically completed and the seller was paid anyway. Customer support only sent automated replies repeating policies instead of actually helping. I will be deleting my account

Telling buyers to “contact the seller” makes no sense when the seller already shipped the item and received the money.

A company this large should show more common sense and real customer support.

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

After years of using Vinted, it is unfortunate to see how dramatically the service and quality have declined over time.

Not only has the amount of counterfeit items increased with little to no control from Vinted (sometimes when you flag a product, Vinted claims it is not counterfeit when it obviously is), but seller protection is also practically non-existent.

I sold an item on Vinted, but the buyer never showed up to collect the package, and it was eventually lost. Vinted refused to take any responsibility, and the buyer faced zero consequences. I do not understand why Vinted always seems to favor the buyer when the platform would not survive without both buyers and sellers.

The policies should be fair and balanced so transactions can proceed smoothly for everyone. I would not recommend Vinted at all. I now find myself using other platforms where buyers are more responsible and the platform treats every user more fairly.

Return policy for wrong goods against EU…

Their return policy goes against EU consumer law. A pro-seller sent me the wrong package, she got mine and someone else’s mixed up. According to their policy the seller decides who pays for the return shipping. I had to return it to get a refund but she refused to pay for it- which seems so unethical and just plain rude. She wanted me and the other seller to exchange the packages and send to each other. I just wanted to return. Vinted said that the seller chooses and that’s it. And if I don’t return the goods within 14 days I won’t even get a refund. I was therefore forced to pay for the return shipping costs due to the sellers error. This outcome is not legal in accordance with consumer laws. They have not been helpful and stand by this policy!

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I signed up with the app. Listed and sold several items. Woohoo. Bought one item. Funds all stayed in my vinted account. Suddenly they want to verify my phone number. No problem. I give them my number and it continues to give an error message. I try my husband's number, my sister's number and a friend's number. Still an error. MULTIPLE attempts with their help team and am told to buy another phone plan! Seriously-THAT is their solution.
Here I am now-almost three weeks later and I still cannot get into my account AND they are holding my funds and I am told the situation has been resolved. I am sure they feel it has been as they have stolen my funds and refused to let me access them.
Worst service experience I have ever had.

Absolutely terrible experience with Vinted

Absolutely terrible experience with Vinted.
They lost my parcel and refuse to properly investigate the issue, even though Chronopost was able to locate it and provide real information. Vinted still refuses to contact the Chronopost CRESA center directly to solve the problem.

Their customer service feels entirely managed by a low-quality AI system sending endless copy-paste answers without actually reading the situation. There is no real support, no accountability, and clearly no consideration for customers once something goes wrong.

What’s shocking is that Chronopost was more helpful than Vinted itself. Vinted’s only strategy seems to be avoiding responsibility until customers give up.

This experience showed me how little they actually care about customer protection. Everything works fine until there is a real issue — then you are left alone with automated replies and zero concrete action.

Very disappointing and honestly unacceptable for a platform of this size.

Hello Vinted Support,
I am writing to share my experience as a seller on your platform, as I feel it is important to raise concerns that I believe reflect a wider issue with how listings and accounts are being moderated.
I sell genuine, new fragrance products — items I can fully verify, with clear photos and professional knowledge, as I work within the fragrance industry. Despite this, my listings and account have been blocked on multiple occasions. Each time, I have provided evidence and explanation to support the authenticity of my products, yet the outcome has remained the same.
What makes this particularly difficult to understand is that, at the same time, I regularly see listings on Vinted that appear to involve counterfeit goods, used cosmetics, and partly used products — items that clearly violate your platform’s policies — and those accounts remain active and unaffected.
I am not raising this lightly. I feel that legitimate sellers like myself are being disproportionately impacted by automated or inconsistent moderation, while genuine policy violations go unaddressed. This is both discouraging and, frankly, unfair.
I would appreciate a thorough review of my account and a clear explanation of the decisions made. I would also welcome any guidance on how I can continue selling within your guidelines without facing repeated and unjustified restrictions.
