I think that the reception at the hospital was great. There were a lot of tests before the surgery that had to be done. During all this all the staff was very nice. Although it was kinda tiresome to answer the same questions several times.

The surgery was quick and painless except for the drainage. The nurse that removed it was very gentle so it didn't hurt when he pulled it out. The only negative thing I can say is that is was hard to sleep an entire night because of the nurse coming to take the bloodpressure several times. Although I understand why it was still a bit annoying.

The thing that made me give 5 stars is the coordinator. You get a designated coordinator that help you through the process and also help in translating. Even though I was the first patient that my coordinator, Merziye, had she did an amazing job. I had my surgery in the beginning of July and I can still text her if I have any questions or concerns.

The best choice of my life.
I am very happy that I had surgery in Turkey. especially with Dr. Volkan. The treatment has been incredible from the first moment. Any problem after surgery.

I have been struggling with my weight since long .
A friend of mine had bariatric surgery from turkey and I saw how much of an impact it had on her life .
seeing her positive results motivacted me to do my research .
But i was nervous and anxious .
One fine day I came across Dr Volkan’s page and sent a message then got a response back right away from Mev ( Doc’s assistent and cordinator )
Mev calmed my fear of having the procedure. I never felt alone during this process even after the surgery.
I had to wait a few months because of lockdown but Mev was in touch with me all the time with updates and information related to flights and booking .
I finally had my surgery done last week .
Now when i am back Home and Think about last couple of days i realise how smooth and easy this has been Thanks to Mev , doc volkan and team .
Mev has been there for me since day 1 , from to plan my surgery to make sure i arrived and picked up , got my tests done , get done with surgery , arranging a hotel and transport for me and my husband in istanbul and making sure we get back Home safe and Sound .

Doc volkan and his amazing team are of highly qualified specialists. Special thanks to Dr. Volkan and specifically to Mev .
It was a life changing experience and I would not change it for the world .
They were all so helpful and made my transition to a new life a dream come true.

I was at first sceptic to do this in a country where I don’t speak the language.
But wow this package is a fantastic deal.
I was picked up at the airport by Mev ( fantastic guy) he looked after me 24 hours and organized everything just brilliantly.
He provided an ubelivable good service for me but also to my wife who did join me in this journey. We could not have been in better hands !!! The Dr. did a job hardly any pain and very small scares after two days I felt already good and after 5 days Mev took me sightseeing. I went back to back to work after a week and now 10 days after surgery I feel great and kid 8 kg already.

Dr., Hospital, Nurses and Mev. translator all super friendly, competent and accommodating!!

I strongly recommend this procedure to everybody who wants a fresh start in live.

I was booked into another hospital for my gastric sleeve operation surgery but due to my medication they said they couldnt do it even though they knew before hand they told me the night before that my surgery was cancelled Looked on Facebook and messaged mev who borrowed a car to come and collect me at 11pm took me to there hospital ozel medidema hastanesi. Arrived at hospital got some sleep in the morning had all the tests done i needed and met with my surgeon dr volkan who managed to fit me in that day for my surgery. The after care was amazing and mev was there to translate for me as im from Scotland. The hospital staff were 1st class got pain relief when needed. I even taught them some Scottish words lol. If it wasnt for mev driving to pick me up from the other hospital i would have had to return with no surgery. I cant recommend the surgeon and all the medical team here.

Recently returned from Izmir after having gastric sleeve surgery, I was treated really well from start to finish. Collected from airport and taken straight to hospital, lots of tests done to ensure that I was fit and well for the surgery. Dr Volkan is fantastic, puts your mind at rest as does Mevlut, his assistant. There’s no language barrier as Mev speaks fantastic English, he is on hand at any time night or day during your stay. A quick WhatsApp message and he will organise anything that you need. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this life changing surgery. I’ve only had my surgery 7 days ago today and I feel fantastic and have already lost a significant amount. My advice would be get it done, you won’t look back.

I flew to Izmir on the instructions given with no problems. When I arrived I was treated well and always checked. The team led by Mevlut is reassuring. Surgery was perfect with no complications. Came back to England and currently enjoying the journey.

What can I say only my experience from beginning to end was absolutely fantastic.
My translator Mev was always there for me , & his response time by phone was almost immediately if I had any questions & I had plenty!
Dr volcan was a complete gentleman & spoke English. I put my complete trust in him.
I was worried how I might be after the surgery & especially on returning home but I genuinely had very little pain.
Anybody who is hesitating about making a decision for a gastric sleeve just go for it .
It’s the start of a new life for me I can’t wait.
I would highly recommend Dr. Volcan & his team . So professional & cleanliness is unreal .Top class nurses also.

The whole process of booking the surgery and any questions before was relatively easy and straight forward. Always had quick responses. My experience in the hospital was horrific and something I never want to experience ever again. Post op surgery to be lying in a recovery bed absolutely freezing and in pain to be told my mum had covid which was an absolute lie and scam from the hospital (not dr volkan), we had 3 tests prior to getting to the hospital which were all negative. The conditions she was put in after having a major operation is sickening, no clothes, toilet or shower and everyone watching her from a glass window. I was then left for hours with no nurses in my room or if they did come in the male nurse looking after me would sleep at the end of my bed. Eventually my mum was retested to be confirmed negative and we were allowed to leave, luckily enough to stay with family but we were not allowed to fly home. Since handing over our money and leaving the hospital we have had no contact or reply to messages apart from being asked to leave a review. I still have 2 lumps and bruising on my arm from the injections as the nurses were clearly injecting them into the wrong place, I still get pain in my hand from where the cannula was that tissued yet the nurses were still forcing antibiotics into my hand even when I was telling them how painful it was. The hospital badly reflects on Dr Volkan from my personal experience.

A team that does its job very well. Europe's best team in gastric sleeve surgery. The very best team and they do a perfect job from from the entrance to be finish if you can after 4 days goes home. Very nice and very helpful. Top team!! They know very well what they are doing.

Couldn’t recommend Dr Volkan enough. From start to finish the whole process has been great. Kaan was my go to contact and he was so helpful and informative before I travelled. When I arrived at the hospital I was so impressed with the thorough checks and examinations that were done before the surgery. I felt so calm and comfortable and in very safe hands. Dr Volkan is fantastic at what he does and is a very friendly great guy. I have since lost 3 stone in 9 weeks so far and feel fantastic! So happy and Kaan still keeps in touch regularly to make sure I’m ok and not having any issues which I’m not. Couldn’t recommend enough
