After investing considerable time …

After investing considerable time designing a Volusion site, and porting all our products from our existing site, we discovered that Volusion does not support 301 redirects for all pages, as advertised, and as we were assured verbally that they would. Only non-dynamic pages can be redirected properly. (It would be very unusual for an existing website of any complexity to list their products on non-dynamic pages, so I can't believe we're the first ecommerce site to have run into this problem.) Volusion says that there is no fix for this, and no plans for a fix. And, yet they still advertise that 301 redirects are available for all pages.
Consequently, we lost (permanently) invaluable Google rankings for most of our products. No apology. No solution.

Phone support is often very, very backlogged. And, the techs who do finally answer are poorly trained and rarely are able to help with anything that they can't read from a script or checklist.

In total: stable platform, decent layouts and design, very poor technical support, and the 301 redirect issue is a huge problem for any established site looking to move to Volusion.

Follow up is not the best

The customer service reps are very polite, but I changed my plan three months in a row and it was not done until the third time. I paid twice my monthly charge for two months.

Good, but slow to change

Most of the tech people are very good, but when they run into something unfixable, they tell me to put in a suggestion for a change. Done that, and months later, nothing has changed. For example, the smartphone app... many problems, two years now, no changes.

Not impressed

We feel it is very hard to navigate, help is slim pickens. Shipping rates are unreliable. We would not recommend if you are not familiar with making a web site.

I would highly recommend using …

I would highly recommend using Volusion. Every time I have had a tech support issue they are always very willing to help me solve my issue. They are also very courteous.

We are penalized by Google for things …

We are penalized by Google for things that Volusion does that we cannot control. Lack of SEO technology; Limited flexibility for customizing end-customer experience with storefront.

Volusion is a good and easy to use …

Volusion is a good and easy to use platform for ecommerce websites. Probably doesn't have enough bells and whistles for larger B2B companies (doesn't handle taxing customers well), but it works!

The team is very good at what they do …

The team is very good at what they do ,although some techs seem fairly
new to this and are in fact not that good at rectifying the situation quickly.
But all and all is good but lately the wait time for call backs are crazy long,like I requested a call back and waited and waited and then went to the bank,got in the bank 2hrs later and got the call.
Please help fix this problem as it is most important to me when I have an issue.Cheers!

I am using Volusion for about 6 years …

I am using Volusion for about 6 years now. They have all tools I need for ECommerce in one place. At a very affordable price I got nice looking and easy to menage template, merchant services, EXCELLENT customer service!

Volusion is good but has some …

Volusion is good but has some shortcomings such as inventory control over multiple sales channels. Also their reporting could use some work.

They rolled out a new feature called fraud score, but it is a paid add on, which does not help us.

It seems like pretty much everything they offer costs extra, so we already pay a great deal to them and do not appreciate everything being "al a carte".

I am a fairly technical user

I am a fairly technical user, but I am not a computer programmer nor web specialist. Normally my interaction with Volusion is great, with them taking the time to slow down the communication so that I can understand what is needed. But this time I was a bit overwhelmed with the technical jargon and what impact it had on me and my site. My normal rating for Volusion is 5stars, but today was a bit off.

We need better sorting of reports

We need better sorting of reports. We need to be able to select the fields tht we need without having to download the full database. Everytime we need to do a report for the month, we have to download the full data base to do it.
