Neato Robotics was a company within the Vorwerk Group that ceased operations in 2023. In the interests of its customers and to ensure the smoothest possible use of its robots, Vorwerk decided at the time to continue Neato's cloud service beyond the company's closure.
However, the framework has since changed fundamentally. Cybersecurity and data protection requirements have become significantly more stringent, as have regulatory requirements and compliance standards. Continuing to operate these now outdated systems would pose data protection and security risks that we do not want to impose on our customers.
Neato robots will continue to function in manual mode and can therefore be used without the cloud. Vorwerk thus ensures that existing devices will not become inoperable in the future, but will continue to fulfil their basic purpose.
The warranty conditions remain unchanged. Customer service actively supports customers during the transition and ensures that no one is left alone with the change.
Vorwerk understands that some customers are disappointed by this decision. However, we would like to emphasize that this decision was made solely for the safety and protection of our customers. Our goal was and remains to act responsibly and to enable continued use of the devices. We will, of course, fully fulfil existing warranty and service obligations, and manual operation ensures that the robots can also be used in the future. We aim to offer a solution that balances safety, reliability, and usability. Compensation is not provided in this context.
