Recently, I have a consolidated packages shipping from Guangzhou to Singapore. Was told that shipping by sea is base on volumetric.
Was told that shipment left immediately after payment on 11th December . Notification followed by packages already shipped. Shipment will arrived before Christmas Day. Later was informed by email stating that the packages will be delayed for a week. Notification came and apologised that there was a Port congestion. Until today, I was told the packages have arrived.
My wife’s company have sent items consolidated through another shipping provider. Shipment left on 12th December. Yet, the shipment was unpacked and received in good order.
I am in Singapore. Tried to contact and requesting for Vpost telephone and address in Singapore. No one able to provide.
Only being told that contactable address is Singapore Post. If you are there to launch a complaint. There will be a dilly dally attitude by the Duty Manager from Singapore serving you. Later, a customers service , customers care Consultants, acting manager, and one so called senior manager will start calling you followed by issuing you with their unique case numbers.
The officer will sent you emails in the middle morning at 4:20sm. You can call them but they will not entertain you by calling back. Gave a a number but will be cut disconnected. .
Requested for them to call back but never did.
This is my first shipment .. very bad experience with the communication and coordination issues.
Try calling Vpost and launch a complaint. Singapore Post will take over . Then pushed the complaint by to Vpost. Just to confused and playing delay tactics.
Pay to get service ....rubbished... pay to get frustrated.

Part 2:

My packages arrived after New Year. Instead of a Malay or Indian Staffs. Now, A Filipino staff took over in reply with a contactable number, service was good but .....

1. Packages damaged but must submit the claim within 3 days.but because of weight discrepancies it was delayed and claims cannot be entertained ( I was shown the fine print..shipment delayed we are forced to accept by their excuses coming up stating port congestion. But am I given no choice)

2. Weight discrepancies: very ironic... weight received by Vpost are different from the weight received by SingPost? Please rechecked the weight yourself upon arrival. If not, there will be a extra weigh charges to be paid as there is a re weight when packages arrived. I was not inform that when shipper sent to Guangzhou collection point there are already weight stated. But collection center weight different. Worst the weight upon Arrival there were another weighing which is different from the shipper , Vpost and SingPost weight. That puzzled me on the sort of weighing machine been used by the Seller, the seller post office - the shipper ship through, the Vpost and finally SingPost. And through our own weighing our seller weight is correct.

3. Do not consolidate your shipment or packages. Big or small. It goes by individual payment. Anyway it’s my mistake. For 50gm its cost me still base on 500gm minimum charge. So packages should be packed to 500 gm or pack with any of my 21 packages. As all are individually charged by the indivisible weight.

4. I have yet to sort out the missing part with the shipper as the packages were delayed more than 3 weeks. Waiting for the shipper to sent the missing parts.

5. Still sorting out with SingPost on the discrepancies of weight and damaged packages. Hopefully, I still can contact the Manager. As packages already received and will they wash their hands and responsibilities.

6. I realised that I have been.charge for GST ( Goods and Services Tax ). But since the charges are individual most are less than $10. I have yet to receive the official GST receipt charge by the custom which have been paid on behalf by the SingPost. - as my wife did the payment, there were total shipping cost (which already shown) and my wife paid extra ( not shown). After payment, I a sk the difference in payment. Received an email stating that the extra are for GST. I am charge with the value of my packages which is less than $200 all are household and kitchen products for own use. My total packages cost $200 plus and shipment costing $200 plus in total the whole shipment is $400 plus. Vpost explanation was whether import for own use or selling GST will be applied. I will waiting for the official gst receipt to appeal.

Waiting for reply again,,,,

Will I use Vpost again

My wife tried again to import direct instead of consolidated through or sent through Vpost. It was 4 key chain from the shipper. Only 60 gm total in weight. Key chain cost my wife $1.85 each so total cost of item $7.40 plus shipping charge cost $1 total $8.40 arrived within a week from China.
No hassle at all. No GST

Delay my A-S-S!!!

Yep, that's how pissed I am right now.

I had my order from Amazon paid on 1 Dec. Yet till today (Dec 11) still have not received my package yet. The "estimated arrival" dates are supposed to be 8-10 Dec. But on the tracking status, it said "In transit at Taiwan".

Seriously, vPost! What the f***!

Before that it was stuck in limbo saying "In transit at Seattle" for FIVE DAYS. Tell me that's not ridiculous.

I could understand about the situation in the US but on vPost side, it's still under Singpost damnit! SINGPOST! And I could reconcile the fact there could be chances of delay but for almost two weeks? This is simply preposterous and unacceptable.

The truth is if it's not because the package could only be sent to a US address, I could have my package sent directly to my home address.

Seriously, Singpost, just stop your vPost service already. You can just see how many in here are giving you the thumbs-down right to the ground.

Worst experience

First time shipping with vPost and it’s been a disappointing one so far.

Due to a change in circumstance, I had to return my item (that’s still in the country of origin, UK). Searched through vPost website and followed the self-help tutorial on returning an item. Paid admin fee of $6.50, provided a prepaid return label (provided by the merchant). All was done and good on 2 Dec. Then comes 7 Dec, where it’d been 3 working days and I had not received any update on the return at this point. Contacted vPost and was told that the turnaround time for return is 3 working days (funny she said that as it’d already been 3 working days by then), and was told to wait one more day and that she’d escalate the issue to the UK warehouse and that I’d get a reply within 3 working days. Then comes 10 Dec (3 working days from when the issue was escalated), of course, no news from vPost again. So I contacted the customer service again and this time was told a completely different story - that I’ve to contact my merchant personally to arrange for a pick up by Royal Mail. Rather taken aback to hear this as this piece of information is nowhere to be found on vPost’s website, I asked if she has any idea where to locate the information where I could get a better sense of the whole process, of course she was unable to provide any substantial information. She even told me that I had to do a redirection if I want vPost to post my return parcel out, even when I’ve provided the return shipping label - completely different information to what the self-help guide on vPost website says. Makes me wonder if she even knows the process well?

The issue is still unsolved. Never again with vPost. Disgrace.

I am shocked to see so many problems…

I am shocked to see so many problems faced by so many people!

I recently purchased a body kit for my car via shopee msia and shipped it to vpost in malaysia. I was informed that it was oversized and I had 3 options, redirect it within the country, return or dispose( this option should be replaced entirely! Vpost expecting their customers to waste their $?) anyways, I spoke to 6 PEOPLE IN VPOST since Friday all of which is useless.

Person number 1: Had no clue what to do. couldnt advise me who to pay the charges to and I requested for the dimensions in order to check rates. DID NOT PROVIDE

Person number 2: informed me the dimensions and told me to reply to the email informing i will be selecting a third party service so they could expedite my case and i just had to reply later on with the consignment note. I did as i was told, DID NOT RECIEVE A SINGLE RESPONSE FROM THEM.

Person number 3: Informed me that they have escalated the issue to the team and by monday it will be updated in the system i just need to pay the admin fee. I said okay.

Person number 4: SENDS ME AN EMAIL WITH A NEW CASE ID TELLING ME MY PACKAGES ARE OVERSIZED AND GIVING ME THE SAME 3 OPTIONS THIS TIME WITH IMAGES. I was shocked as out of 3 items, 1 of them indicated on VPOST that it was ready to ship! So i shipped that with my other times and was shocked to see THAT BOX NUMBER IN THE EMAIL. I called VPOST again, and they said it was an "auto generated" email. Yeah im sure, computers have names now? Anyways, she then told me it will take 3 working days for their back end to call me back with an update AND I REPEATEDLY TOLD THIS TO ALL THE CS OFFICERS, that my pick up is on 2nd november 2020. I told her, how can they call me back in 3 working days when my pick up is tomorrow? She suggested i call back instead to check on the status of this.

Person number 4: i called today morning, 2nd november to inform them my item is still not updated on vpost and my pick up is today. He proceeded to tell me all he could do was send a chaser to the warehouse and it will take 4 WORKING DAYS for them to get back to me. By this point, i was pissed as hell. I asked if i should reschedule my pick up and he said YES i should do it on november 4th instead. Why cant vpost give me a date to schedule the pick up so that things can go smoothly?

Person 5: I called back to tell them i cannot rescehdule as there will be charges and VPOST will not compensate. She informed me that the case has been escalated and it is top priority etc and that someone will call me in 3-5 hours. I am now waiting for their call to sort this hassle out.

I ordered MANY MORE ITEMS which is on the way and i HOPE I DONT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN.

My overall experience thus far with vpost is lousy. Suggest you need to update your system and train the staff better. Because they do not know how to answers questions or give proper answers. They clearly don't know how to handle customers or these problems. Judging by the reviews here, it is safe to say they should have enough experience already to deal with these nonsense.

Funny how VPOST cant ship something but a third party courier can. Squeezing customers for every last buck?

VPOST JAPAN

VPOST JAPAN - I have 8 packages from amazon.co.jp. So far only 1 have been delivered to the warehouse in Japan (which is marked as left at the front door) while 4 other packages were undelivered due to no one being at the warehouse, and I have to ask amazon to ship again.

Their website only updates after 2 days, so I cant even check if the package that was left at the front door was delivered properly.

This is quite absurd for a company specializing in proxy shipping. There should be at least 1 person at the warehouse at all times to receive packages.

Singapore’s vPost - A Living Nightmare!

It would be good if vPost could take a little time to brainstorm and analyze why it is getting such bad reviews. If it could be a little more flexible and pay more attention in boosting its customer service instead of its coffers it would definitely start getting 4 to 5 stars. In my case I made the unfortunate mistake of sending my boxes to the USA via vPost website. Big mistake! I should have packed my stuff in a luggage and gone to the nearest post office. I had spoken to a most friendly and helpful lady at the post office who had told me that they would pack, weigh and help me with the forms as well. I decided to go via online for convenience sake and I’ve regretted it ever since! The main culprit is its customer service via phone. I called about 4 to 5 times in order to get the entire process right but ended up being frustrated because each time I called I got different answers! I was told I can print the labels at any POP station which turned out to be false. Clearly, the customer service staff are unsure of the process, what forms should be affixed on the box and the cost involved. I was told that each consignment carries a collection fee of $5/- which was incorrect; each box carries a collection fee of $3/-. Here comes the worst nightmare I had to endure! At the POP station I called yet again and I was told that collection is on that very day and I’m not home! The lady on the other end insisted that she got the collection date correct until I had to pull out the invoice I had received via my email and told her that the invoice’s collection date is 2 days away! She finally admitted her mistake and I had to ask her to apologise because it was not forthcoming! At this point I had wanted to cancel the online transaction and go manual instead, i.e. bring my stuff to the post office and guess what the customer service staff said? Oh yes, sure pay all over again because vPost will not refund nor allow cancellation! God bless our national postal/shipping service! At the rate it’s going disaster is just around the corner!

Hi Nishanti Pillay , Thank you for your feedback . we regret that vPOST do not provide service from Singapore to USA . Our vPOSTUSA is from USA to Singapore

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

vPost from USA to Singapore by SingPost is COMPLETE DISASTER. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

vPost from USA to Singapore by SingPost is a COMPLETE DISASTER.

WARNING: AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE.

The affiliation to Singapore's national postal service is a red herring. It gave me the FALSE impression of quality, competence and professionalism when it turned out to be an ABSOLUTE DISASTER.

I ordered an office chair from a manufacturer in the USA. That is a NASDAQ-listed company. The model I ordered has been in production and sold world-wide for more than 10 years.

I believed vPost's FALSE claim of "convenience", "reliable" service and "more savings", That gave customers a FALSE belief that it was a simple matter to ship from the USA to Singapore, I had my chair delivered to SingPost vPost USA forwarding address.

The office chair arrived on 8 June 2020.

I was surprised/shocked that SingPost vPost classified the chair as a pressurised restricted dangerous item.

Then, the NIGHTMARE began.

I was asked to provide MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for the chair to prove that it is safe. Since the chair was made by a public-listed company with a >US$1 billion market cap, all safety, environmental and quality certifications, assembly and disassembly instructions down to the last screw, were available and provided to SingPost vPost.

SingPost vPost replied to insist that the chair has pressurised parts .... when the manufacturer (the professionals who designed and made the chair) informed that those are spring mechanisms.

I was given 4 options -
1. return the chair to manufacturer (I had to provide prepaid postage label from manufacturer AND pay admin fees to SingPost);
2. redirect to another address in the USA (I had to pay full postage AND admin fees to SingPost);
3. had ANOTHER courier company pick up the chair from SingPost USA warehouse (i.e. I had to pay another courier company for the nonsense from SingPost vPost);
4. DISCARD the chair (SingPost vPost did not pay for the chair, so I suppose it is none of their business).

I checked around, to verify the "dangerous pressured item" claim by SingPost, and the "cannot clear customs and ship to Singapore" claim.

It was a COMPLETE LIE.

1. DHL and FeDex immediately confirmed ability to ship and quoted me.
2. comGateway, ezBuy, myShip and other freight-forwarders confirmed that they could ship the chair from US to Singapore.
3. A seller on Shopee confirmed selling 500+ such chairs in Singapore.
4. A local distributor in Singapore has been bringing in and selling chairs, including this model, from this manufacturer for years.
5. SingPost's own "dedicated buy-for-me concierge" service AORA quoted me when I requested to purchase this chair and deliver it to Singapore, at a 5% surcharge.

After communicating with all the other freight-forwarders, I decided to give the business to ezbuy as their warehouse was only 20 minutes drive from SingPost's warehouse in Oregon, Portland. Ezship's forwarding address was provided to SingPost.

SingPost vPost invoiced me S$305.26 !!! to forward my chair to another address 20 minutes drive from theirs. That was an ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING AMOUNT. It cost MORE than the estimated USA to Singapore delivery charges quoted by SingPost themselves.

It was even more laughable to know that SingPost vPost engaged UPS to do the local re-direction in USA. I was given tracking info from UPS. Completely ludicrous!

And, I had to constantly chase them for more than a week for them to create a confusing "dummy invoice" so that I can pay S$305.26. That "dummy invoice" had options for economy, standard and sea freight, and listed my address in Singapore. Here we have, SingPost, a Singapore national postal entity, giving a customer a FAKE invoice, to take customer's monies to engage another courier to do a delivery they could not do themselves.

All in all, my chair arrived at SingPost vPost warehouse on 8 June 2020. It was re-directed to another freight-forwarder on 15 July 2020 at a cost of S$305.26.

Do NOT use SingPost if you do NOT want to be given
1. Nonsensical crap EXCUSES when they do not want to deliver your item,
2. Waste TIME chasing them to get things done,
3. Waste A LOT OF MONIES on incompetent imbeciles when the job was actually done by someone else.

SingPost vPost had been informed in my emails that those communications and this experience will be made publicly available.

And, still this kind of crap from them ...

Worst service on earth

Terrible TERRIBLE service. V Post misplaced my package in the UK warehouse and found it weeks later. Then only delivered 1 item 2 weeks after that! Now after almost a whole day of being on hold they have found the 2nd item and are charging me again for yet another delivery (even though both items were on the same tracking number). Never using again. Actively going to ensure none of my friends uses V Post either.

Nightmare is Understatement

Vpost does not even deserved a star. This is a trap waiting for people to fall into it. Unfortunately, it happened to me who is so naive to trust this national postage service. 3 apparel purchased were light but they claimed was oversized in packaging which were not stated in the size dimension restriction on the website. When contacted Vpost, the queue waiting time was ultimately long and operators are robotics and cannot give any advise but ask you to wait without any dateline. Simply trying to drag the time so can increase the probability to charge more on their service.

Parcel indicated as 500g for 1 pair of 23g earring.

I got the customer service team to relook into my case for the 2nd time today. They sounded so firm and i thought i might be the unlucky exceptional case. i was shocked to find so many bad experiences shared here. Just cannot believe this is happening to vpost which is under singpost which i have didnt doubted the quality therfore didnt research on bad reviews etc. Now i learnt my lesson.

I bought alot of small items from different seller from Tmall app and each parcel (some are containing just 1 pair of earrings, below 30g) was indicated minimum 500g at sgd 5. I have 22 parcels and now is amounting to near sgd 200 charges. So ridiculous.. Really hope the CS team can solve this issue appropriately.

Money taken, package stalled

They couldn't expedite the package from USA to Singapore due to it containing batteries and it being used. Not a problem, after two days of trying I managed to get through to sing post who gave me the option of paying for it to be shipped down the road to another forwarding company, I said go ahead and paid $65 for the service... Then it went cold. 12 days and the package is still in their warehouse, they don't respond. Now I'm out of pocket and don't have the item. This is so far the most painfully slow process I've suffered, I thought I'd give sing post a try, now I see why the competition is doing so much better.

Do not use vPost services from USA to…

Do not use vPost services from USA to Malaysia or Thailand.

I'm a Singaporean . Vpost service , from
US-Singapore ,was herald as a blessing Their costs was reasonable and delivery took 5-7 days only. I used it monthly for 8 years, buying mainly personal items from Amazon.com.

Then vPosts started delivering to Malaysia and Thailand and foolishly Igot involved.. The air freight was double / treble that of US to Singapore !!!
The delivery took longer as they are first sent to Singapore , and then forwarded to Malaysia or Thailand!!! Its like the example of Air Asia hub. With such bad business practice and waste of time( ours) I no longer will ever use vPost again.
Furthermore the call centre based in India is a nightmare. Calling them, getting through with incomprhensible heavily Indian accent is not the best customer service Singapore should provide. I am thoroughly ashamed of vPost.

Rip-off! Saving on base charge by shipping more parcels together is pointless

Latest 13/5/2020 update: After complaining, and waited for about a week. 2 of the packages with ridiculous volumetric weight has been repacked to something reasonable. Will upgrade to 2 stars, as this happened only after complain and not as the purchases were shipped into Vpost's warehouse. Had anyone foolishly accept it and continued without filing a complain, they would have been ripped off.

(Vpost Japan) - Rip-off! Pointless to consolidate multiple parcels into one shipment to save on base charges. The disproportionate increase in volumetric weight will burn a big hole in your pocket. Vpost (being supposedly a logistics expert) has multiple restrictions on repackaging and it cannot be done for most cases. Read on for more details.

Usually, the norm is for merchants to pack and ship products using a box that carries fundamentally more volumetric weight than the actual product weight - for obvious reasons, e.g. packaging materials, etc.

When these boxes arrive into the Vpost warehouse, they are charged for shipment using their volumetric weight (this is clearly mentioned, so it is fair). However, you must be thinking that repacking means, Vpost being a logistical professional, would have the capabilities to find a "properly sized box", then, help you repack your contents from various merchants properly, and then charge you the final volumetric weight of that "properly sized box".

This is NOT the case. Because of the endless list of restrictions and their lack of intention of absorbing any logistical risks (despite their services being not cheap) - the repacking is almost impossible. So what does repacking means? It means, taking the various boxes from the merchants that arrived in its original form and then lump it into a big box, and send it to Singapore.

The incrementally huge volumetric weight from various boxes will burn a big hole in your pocket. DO NOT use this service. There are other service providers that really open up your various shipment and help you repack them into suitably sized box (at a small fee), and the end result is to help you manage the shipping charges to a more reasonable rate.

Bad deal, avoid it. More reasonably priced service providers available.

(Reply to vPost's comment): This is exactly why you will be ripped off. 1) You are still paying for the physical weight of those smaller boxes. 2) While merchant ships using a box that has a bigger volumetric weight than the product, it is improbable that it would be so big that could still accommodate the other smaller boxes.

The professional way to handle this, is to use a separate suitably sized box (at a fee, of course) and take out the products from individual shipping box and then combine them and repack everything properly (at a fee again, of course) - surely, Vpost being the logistics specialist must have the capability to combine, repack and ship things properly. How can you refuse responsibilities by saying it may "potentially hinder the claims process in the event your package is lost or damaged during transit". If that happens then you simply take on the responsibilities of refund as per the relevant shipping agreement. Customers didn't ship their products for free with you! Doing business involves taking on responsibilities, and your freight are also insured with your shipper as the final value declared on the airway bill is CIF. Further to this extremely poor experience with Vpost, I done my research online, and found many other freight forwarders who could provide the repacking service by combining your purchases into a single box.

The experience was so bad, I wished I never had started. Promptly went to delete the stored vPost shipping address from all my online shopping sites in case I used it accidentally in the future!

Thank you for having taken your time to provide us with your valuable feedback .vPost repack package by minimising the height of the package, thus reducing the volumetric weight. The process of repacking will be placing the smaller package into one single box. You may refer to our https://vpost.com/sg/faq/

Inflexible Service

In the wake of COVID-19, you guys can’t even ship the cleaning wipes out. The regulations can’t be relaxed under extreme circumstances. What else can you do?

Unreachable Chat service / Arbitrary Classification

In summary, their 24/7 Chat service is utterly useless wasting hours of your time waiting to connect to agent only to be fed with " No agent available please try again later". On vPOST USA, classification of items is arbitrary without any recourse for customer to rectify or clarify. Customer in the end will suffer more cost to either return the item or seek 3rd party courier.

My terrible experience with vPOST started when i send a refurbished Laptop bought ebay to vPOST USA. I have checked on vPost site prior to purchase that it is possible to ship laptop so long it is installed and 1 laptop per package.
On arrival, the laptop was classified as ion-battery and placed as "Restricted/Damaged".
Obviously alarmed as a customer, i tried to contact vPOST online chat support which by itself is a game of chance. After waiting in queue for 30mins to get to number 1 in queue only to be greeted with "no agent available please try again later", rinse and repeat this with different browsers on the assumption that issue could be the default browser that i am using. Results are the same, hours lost, anger and frustration building up.

After getting through on chat, I was dragged through a drama, first the item is ion battery followed by item has been delivered and then item is not allowed to ship. Eventually i got a call from their customer representative, I was told that there is no way to customer to submit documentation for recourse with the dispute in item classification. Whatever the warehouse in US decides is final.

At this moment of writing it has been 4 hours lost while trying to contact vPOST online chat......"Status: Canceled
There are no agents available to chat with you right now. Please try again later."

So to all potential customers please be aware.

Update: 22/04/20
The manner in the restrictions are described in the link in your reply were unclear and subjected to interpretation. I am not sure how reaching out to Vpost would change the atrocious and frustrating experience getting connected to an agent on the 24/7 chat nor alleviate the my problem. As for shipping the items, it might as well pay the merchant the full price to ship direct rather then take a chance with Vpost.

I had to put 1 star so as I can write…

I had to put 1 star so as I can write this review. I didn't receive my item and it has been 2 weeks and no one from vpost can tell me what happened. My case was pass on to 3 persons to handle. Even the manager did not call me back as promised. This is ridiculous! I want to know where is my item!!!!
