nearly $55k for a vehicle and can’t drive it

I spent nearly $55k on a vehicle and my temp tags have been expired for weeks. I’ve called dozens of time to get nowhere. No one seems to want to help and no one ever calls back. I’m paying for insurance on a vehicle I can’t even drive. I was told by VROOM I had to raise my insurance premiums, so now I’m paying even more for insurance for a vehicle I can’t drive. VROOM from the start was an absolute headache to deal with. They falsely advertised the vehicle with no damage, it has damage all over it and it’s a Wrangler with an exposed spare tire that was flat with a hole in the side of it. The list goes on….this has been the worst experience. At this point all I want is my title. I’ll get my own tags.

HORRIBLE!!!

WARNING!!!!! DO NOT UTILIZE THIS COMPANY! IF I COULD GIVE THEM NEGATIVE STARS, I WOULD!!! I put down a $249 deposit to hold a car. They emailed me the contract for a car and it had my boyfriend's name on it. I called and it took approximately 2 weeks to get the issue corrected. After it was corrected and signed, I contacted my bank to complete a bill pay for the remainder of my down payment. While they were waiting for my down payment, I received an email stating that they needed proof of my payment by the end of the day, within 3 minutes, I sent a screenshot with proof of my payment to include a confirmation code. Within 1 minute I received an email stating they received my request and somebody would contact me (which never happened). The next day I received another email stating that they needed proof of my payment. Within 3 minutes I sent proof of my payment with the confirmation code for the second time. Approximately 37 minutes later, I received an email that they received my documents. The next day I received an email stating that they put my vehicle back on the market for sale. I also received an email stating that they were keeping my deposit. This is absolutely ridiculous! I waiting approximately 2 weeks for them to get my contract right and then they wouldn't wait for my down payment even though I provided proof 2 times that the payment was made! Every time I contacted Vroom they told me something different. I asked one customer service rep to speak to a manager, she gave me a direct number to the supervisor and it was a non-working number. I called again and the customer service rep told me they were going to transfer me to a supervisor. Another customer service rep answered and stated they were not a supervisor. I was told a supervisor would call me and I have yet to hear from one. Even though it was no fault of mine, they are keeping my deposit! I bent over backwards and did everything they asked and they sold my car from underneath me and still kept my deposit! DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW HORRIBLE THEY ARE!!!!

Don’t walk. RUN AWAY from Vroom.

Don’t walk, RUN AWAY. Completely frustrating that Auto Trader and most used car search websites are saturated with Vroom cars. This company is a SCAM. They will “sell” you a car that they legally do not own (they are not in possession of the title at the time of the “sale”), take your $250 deposit, give you the runaround for a couple of weeks, you’ll become exhausted and give up, they keep your $250 and move on to the next victim. The people who work from them are completely unprofessional: work from home with dogs barking and TV sounds in the background….and that’s in conjunction with their broken English.
Just stay away.

Vroom- just stay away.

The experience started poorly and became progressively worse. The car itself isn’t bad. What was bad was the complete lack of communication once the car was paid for. The delivery was hopelessly bad. I called to schedule it and was told they could not deliver it to my house and had to meet in a parking lot. They’d made a decision that the street could not support the delivery vehicle. I don’t know how- the neighbor has heavy trucks that do fine. After a time and date were set, I took off work to be able to meet the driver at the business they selected for delivery. I received 4 emails and 2 phone calls to verify the appointment. A day before the scheduled delivery, at 0700 AM I got a call at work from the delivery driver saying he was in my driveway and was leaving the car. He left the vehicle unlocked in my driveway with the keys sitting in my front door. It was there 8 hours before I could return from work. This was only the beginning. The real problems began when I tried to register the vehicle. Vroom took several weeks to deliver the paperwork and the title. It left little time to register the vehicle but I took it to get registered as quickly as possible. When I went to the DMV, I found out Vroom had incorrectly registered the sale and had sent an invalid title. So far it has been 5 phone calls to Vroom with multiple assurances that they’d email the return information and promises that their title department would call. No emails ever came and no one from the title department has called back. Meanwhile my in transit plates are about to expire and I will not be able to legally drive the car. I would absolutely never buy from Vroom again. They can’t be counted on for delivery, the paperwork was a nightmare and I’m about to have a new car in my driveway that I can’t register or drive.

Constant headache

This company and it's customer service reps are disorganized and unprofessional. In the process of purchasing and it's been a constant back and forth where it's apparent that little to no communication happens between reps about my purchase. I sent the check (it was delivered), and am still getting emails asking why I haven't mailed payment. Just spoke with a "Patrick" about an account issue and he was as unprofessional as it gets. I regret my business with this company.

Worst customer service, no one knows whats going on

My wife and I tried selling her car to Vroom starting at the beginning of December. We decided to go with them since they offered a pretty good price, even over Carvana which I sold my car too last year and had a GREAT experience with. We began the next few steps in which we were told to upload photos/docs about the car, standard. We were told they would reach out to send the contract and schedule a pickup. We didn't hear back so I called and was told there was an issue with the registration. The car's registration had my wife's maiden name and her current ID showed her married name, which is understandable. They told us to go the DMV to get it changed. She went. DMV told us, to go to the bank to update the title (still under loan). There was a lot of back and forth, we called back and asked if we can show them our marriage license. They said yes, so we uploaded it. Days went by, still nothing. Called back, they said they need a "One in the same" form in which we had to print, and my wife and to sign and FedEx back and they would include the label for it. So we did just that. Days later, still nothing... Called back, they said they had received it days about but didn't know where it was delivered to. Again, they sent the prepaid label in which they chose the address to be delivered to. They say they'll file some claim and they'll get back to you, they never do. You always need to call in to Customer Service and they hand you off to different departments, nothing ever comes of it. I spent hours on the phone with them across the 4 months dealing with them. We gave up, its a waste of time.

DONT BUY A CAR FROM THEM

I had sold a car to Vroom online and it was not a bad experience., then I traded my Mercedes S550 and bought a Tesla Model S from them in Mid-November 2021. The car was delivered very dirty but I didn't mind it as i was excited about my car but I never got a tag, so I called them several times and then i got s temp tag till January when it expired instead of getting my tag i got another temporary tag that expired on February 5 and after several calls I got third temporary tag till March 9th and now my car is in garage as it has no tags. Interestingly when you call them you get someone in Philippines answering your call and for everything they will tell you I don't have the authority for it, Another interesting thing they will do is put you on hold and then disconnect it happened to me over 6 times then I was promised a car rental but it was just a promise when I called back they have no record of it., Finally I am retaining an attorney and asking for my money back and return of the car. I would never do business with them and i would suggest caution for everyone

I would give VROOM a “0stsr” review but…

I would give VROOM a “0stsr” review but it wont let me. I bought my vehicle in December 2021 and received the car in mid January 2022. Without me calling 20 times to get updates with financing/paperwork/delivery.. it would have not been delivered. After receiving the car I had to get an inspection done on the car at a local mechanic shop. Over $2200 worth of work needed to be done on the vehicle. Fought with vroom for a month to finally get it taken care of. As of march 6,2022 my temporary tags expired. My paperwork for my tags and plates have been sitting in their office since January 5th and was never sent to the DMV for the tags and plates. I am now 7 days past due on my temp tags and driving ILLEGALLY because of vroom. I have called multiple times to receive updates on my temporary tags. The VROOM customer service has no idea what they are doing as a whole. You cannot speak to a manager or supervisor and they are all tier 1 customer support. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT HEADACHES, FALSE INFORMATION AND A 2/5 star car!!!

WORSE THAN 1!!!

WORSE THAN 1!!!! it took 10 months for Vroom to provide a title for a car that had 3700 miles. Six months of getting monthly temporary tags (3 thru Vroom, 3 thru my local tag office). A month and s as half of driving illegally because I couldn’t get they to Vroom. Better Business Bureau complaint got a rental for me. But it still took 2 more months and the threat of a lawsuit to get my title. Customer services NEVER tell you anything! Even when you ask very specific questions.

Great Experience

I was a bit nervous about selling my car online, and I worried that something might go wrong. However, I am pleased to report that I had a great experience with Vroom. When I decided to sell my 2017 Corolla, I got quotes from several online auto buyers/sellers (CarMax, Carvana, Shift, etc.). Vroom came in with the highest offer. The online paperwork, as well as uploading photos of driver's license, title and odometer reading, was easy and quick. I opted for payment by direct deposit. Shortly thereafter, I got an email with a FedEx Overnight label to send them my title. A couple days later, I received an email to choose a date and time range to have my car picked up by one of their contractors. My car was picked up on a Saturday, and the cash was in my bank account on Monday. Very pleased with the transaction and process from start to finish.

BUYER beware!!

BUYER beware!!! Vroom is a terrible place to buy a vehicle. I do not want to make this long but do yourself a favor and do not do business with this company. They sold me a truck that had to be in the shop for over 6 weeks after I purchased it. They do not do inspections as they claim. I don't even think the oil was changed they still won't respond and let me know. They're terrible about communicating with the customer. At first they were great but once they get your deposit its all down hill form there. I wish I would have read reviews before I bought from them. DO not do business with this company so many other options! If they would have offered better customer service and cared about my issues with them I could have overlooked everything else!

This is a dishonest company

This is a dishonest company. They could not get my online account correct and was wanting me to pay a down payment on a car that they could not get to show up in my account. After 2 weeks of trying to get this straightened out, I gave up and canceled my purchase. Their representative said that my $249 deposit would be refunded because it was their issue. I have not been refunded the money and now they are telling me that they won't refund my money. I would recommend that nobody should purchase a vehicle from this company.

Bad Service

I contacted Vroom to sell my vehicle. They sent a good offer almost immediately. It went downhill from there. I submitted my acceptance paperwork and nothing happened. Every step of the way I had to call and push to get to the next step. The timelines they talk about on their website are not the same as what I was told on the phone. Vroom is to send emails confirming steps, but emails are not sent. I was on the phone to Vroom asking when pick up would be scheduled (for the third time that day) because no email was sent and they couldn't tell me. The carrier was actually already looking for my house. No contact, no appointment, just showed up. We weren't home when we were finally contacted. Carrier didn't leave a bill of lading (but did leave trash in yard), so I contacted Vroom (as specified) to let them know. Supposed to get paid within 2-3 business days. Picked up of Friday, so should be paid Tuesday or Wednesday. Nope, maybe Thursday. Also told it may take a week! I supplied information for direct deposit, yet every time I talk to them, they say "your check will be delivered...".
I received an offer of a little more money from Vroom, but I should have taken a little less money from a local dealer. Never using Vroom again.

Be careful before buying

Paid $249 to hold an SUV, and after declining the Vroom Protection plans with my main salesperson, 10 minutes later I received another call of another salesperson, pushing and pushing. The push for this protection plan was so hard that at one moment, after saying “NO” multiple time, it felt like harassment.

Decided to cancel the buying of the SUV because of this event. Lost the $249 dollars! Many phone calls, email for my refund but no responses. Please be careful, honestly I can say Vroom is not a safe company to do business with.
