Vueling charged extra baggage fee at check-in despite prepaying

I cannot write to Vueling support, so hopefully someone from Vueling sees this:

Today, September 13th, 2025, I flew from Tangier to Paris on flight VY8624. At the Tangier airport check-in desk, I was unexpectedly forced to pay 500 MAD (approx. €45) for my checked luggage, despite having already paid for a 15kg checked bag at the time of booking through Kiwi.com.

The agent at your desk informed me that Vueling does not recognise baggage purchased through Kiwi.com, and that only bookings made directly on the Vueling website include baggage. This explanation is unacceptable and frankly absurd. If Vueling accepts tickets sold through third-party providers, then it must also honour the services that passengers have already paid for. Otherwise, this is nothing more than a deceptive practice to extract additional money from customers who have no alternative once they are at the airport.

This is the first time I have ever experienced such an issue with Vueling, and it has left me extremely dissatisfied. If this is now your policy, then it undermines all trust in Vueling as an airline and raises serious questions about transparency and fairness.

In my view, this has all the hallmarks of an abusive practice. Please report it to Vueling, as I did not book through their website and therefore cannot leave feedback on how I was treated by their check-in agent.

I will not use Vueling again in the future and will make sure to share my negative experience.

No Support, Just Vouchers: My Frustrating Vueling Cancellation Experience

I’m disappointed with how Vueling handled a simple weather disruption. Here’s what went wrong:

Last-minute cancellation
My flight was cancelled due to bad weather—fair enough, safety first.

Endless hold
I spent 2 hours stuck in the customer-service phone queue before even speaking to anyone.

Basic accommodations met, attitude not
I was given the legally required overnight hotel stay and transfer voucher, but the staff’s tone was cold and impatient—it felt very much like “take it or leave it,” since there were no later flights that day.

Zero guidance on using vouchers
All I got was a couple of coupons and a brusque “go downstairs.” No details on which shuttle, when it ran, or where to wait. The terminal is huge and confusing; a little guidance would’ve gone a long way.

Broken-record service booths
I asked two people in two different service booths and they just kept asking me to go downstairs like a broken record. When I pressed for exact instructions—where to wait, what the shuttle looked like, when it would arrive—they ignored me and moved on to the next person.

Out-of-pocket expense
After wandering around forever and finding no shuttle, I had to pay for an Airbus shuttle myself just to reach the hotel.

3 times late, two times about 1h30 and one time 45min.
Overpriced luggage. Overpriced seat selection.
Bad service on-board.
What can I say more?

AVOID THIS AIRLINE AT ANY COST

Paris Orly Airport to London Heathrow.

First of all there was no important email to make sure that the customer understood or is aware of when the check in will close.
2nd of all, the staff was so rude.
3rd, when I called the airline before booking to asked about checked baggage they told me that gate closes 1 hour before flight.

I arrived 1 hour and 10 minutes before flight and they wouldn’t check me in,
They told me that airline closes check in 1 hour and 15 minutes before it’s flight.
You can imagine my reaction but I held it in, I was furious.
They told me to go to the Vueling customer services desk.

There is a huge line there and only 1 staff working, even though I had 1 hour and 10 minutes left we spent it waiting at the line, I was hearing other people speaking to the staff and all had the same problems and issues.
The airline staff was telling the people to buy a new ticket from the company.

At that point people are desperate and lost and just want to go back home or to the next destination so they are mislead into buying another ticket from the company for a different flight instead of searching for themselves.

I have some experience in dealing with this so I was a little bit more calmer and I sat down and searched by myself for another flight and found a cheaper flight with Scandinavian airlines.

But overall this company or any others like this should not exist.

AVOID at ALL Costs Vueling Airlines

AVOID at ALL Costs!! I fly alot. I know things happen like delays, issues with missing bags and wrong seats BUT I have never flown with an Airline that sabotages refunds for damaging and breaking your suitcase. We returned from our trip from Paris to Spain and back on 17th April 2022. On the 17th April 2022, when we picked up one suitcase it was broken and we went straight to the damage baggage claim at ORY airport in Paris for Vueling to receive a report to get compensated. We chose a new suitcase. But the form online requested to get an ET number asked for a PIR code which is not the code on the form that the airport baggage damage claim gave me. We drove back to the airport (because we live in Paris. Not sure what people do if not able to do this) to ask for the PIR number to which the lady told us it was the number and we insisted she call them while we stood there and she did and they found me in the system and told us to claim with the shop that replaces suitcases for them which I did. The shop need the PIR number and a form on Vueling ET number. I cannot get the ET number without the PIR number. So I called Vueling many times to get the bogus code that does not exist. No one could give it to me. I had 7 days to make the claim to the designated store called Malles Bertault in Paris. But without this ET number, they cannot help you. Vueling has set up a system that WILL fail even if you follow the rules within the specified time. It is a SCAM and a setup to not reimburse with a new suitcase. After writing to them with evidence of photos of my broken suitcase, they asked me what would I prefer? 50 Euros for a Samsonite 470 Euro suitcase or a new suitcase. I chose the new suitcase. Mine is broken remember. Then they override everything after a month of no response and said I am getting 50 Euros AND someone will get in touch with me to arrange this. We are now on 26th July 2022 or 3 MONTHS since returning to Paris and I have not received anything! Nada! Nothing. To say I am disgusted and disappointment is an understatement. Vueling SHAME on you!

Fraudulent behaviour and abusive.

Unreliable and abusive.
Vueling are engaged in some form of fraud in my view.
With short notice they cancel flights (in my case a return flight) booked well in advance proposing a refund or flights on subsequent days at dreadful hours but not proposing flights which they are running on the same day at closer hours to the rescheduled flight.
That is to say the next best option to your rescheduled flight is not made available to you without paying a huge additional fee.
These flights are not fully booked but the ticket price is often double the early booking price.
I believe this is a deliberate abuse and borders on fraud.
Further Vueling’s customer service is cruel, they reply by asking you to contact them through different methods that don’t function. Asking you to resubmit your request again and again.
I assume this tactic is in the hope that their customer will become exhausted and accept the down grading and additional unforeseen costs rather that continue with the Kafkan torture of trying to communicate with them.
