I bought a 140.000dkk Toyota Avensis 2014/30.000km from them and this is the guy that "took care" of me - Michael Knudsen.
I saved money and searched for this model for a long time especially to find one as new and with low mileage as my budget would allow. I found this car and this dealer, thinking that being a famous name - Volkswagen Odense - I will not be cheated like almost all "small" dealers do.
First encounter with this guy was, like ususal at this kind of dealers, very pleasent and he was very friendly. I tested the car and it was perfect, silent engine and driving experience, like an almost new car as it was, no strange noises or anything suspicios.
I told him I want the car and I am very happy that I will drive it to my homecountry for the holiday that was coming in 2 weeks and he convinced me that I have to let the car 1 week there so he can make a full check before selling it to me(now I know what was the real reason of doing this).
I came back after 1 week being very happy thinking that after so many years of hard working in DK I finally buy a car "for life" and it was the model of my dreams.
We made all the paper work and I had my car.
After all the excitement went to a normal level and I could be more carefull to the feedback of the car that made me start to worry:
- whistleling noise from the gearbox, especially 1,2 and 3rd gear
- whistleling noise probably from the generator
- and the clutch pedal had to be higher than normal to engage the engine.
I realized that in that week when he "did a full check" to my car the gearbox, cluctch and generator(maybe also other parts I do not know about) was changed with very used others.
Practically almost new parts of my car was stolen and replaced with very used ones.
He knew I will drive more than 4000km soon after I will have the car and he put me and my family to risk seling a car with hidden problems, I could have been on the side of the highway with my wife and child exposed to high risk with cars passing by with over 120km/h.
Now I have to pay 5 years for a part of the salalry of a guy that cheated me very big.
I am realy frustrated and sad. I will send some emails to his bosses and to Volkswagen Denmark and also will visit personally this place again to try get back my original car parts back.
I do not have many expectations, but at least I want to do something about it, if I wouldnt do I would feel I am nursing this kind of dealer myself.
I wonder if his family/kids knows how the money for their food and good life are made by this kind of people, do they know that honest/hard working people are providing food for them actually by being cheated?
I would never expect this can happen in Denmark at a big name like Volkswagen and such a famous company would hire such a low level person.
