Fraud, scam and cheat

My experience resonates Jacob Friedman's.

Been with them for nearly four years no issue till this year that switched to a different underwriter. Sent in multiple MR they asked for and only kept getting emails from them stating “we didn’t receive MR therefore all your claims declined”. (Red Flag 1)

Spent hours multiple calls with them, agents all sounded nice in order to eventually decline your claims. (Red Flag 2)
I finally had to record the conversation where the agent would change her statement back and forth (ie yes we got the MR, then she asked me again for the same MR which moment earlier she says they already have it) they are using AI bots that don’t comb through documents you’ve submitted even if they are open right in front of their eyes. (Red Flag 3)

My coverage got halved and premium doubled (over $150+ monthly) and so far they haven’t reimbursed my one and only claim (blood work) stating no MR received to process and denied the claims three times. (Red Flag 4)

Given that all MR submitted and documented on my end, they would then ask for something else (SOAP for lab work, which my vet doesn’t have since it’s done by technician) just to try declining any or all claims now and going forward. (Red Flag 5)

We are seeking advice from DOI.

A Predatory, Bad-Faith Nightmare that Will Abandon Your Pet When They Need Coverage Most

Absolute garbage company run by scammers. Do not trust Wagmo with your pet's life or your financial sanity. They hide behind cute branding, trendy ads, and a slick app, but underneath the marketing is a predatory corporate machine that will ruthlessly dump your animal the second their profit margins slip.

They pulled a massive, coordinated corporate bait-and-switch by abruptly terminating their policy program with their underwriter, National Specialty Insurance Company, and dumping thousands of active, loyal policyholders into administrative run-off without a second thought. Then, they turned around and tried to extort their customer base by forcing everyone onto a garbage new provider with severely gutted coverage terms, massive deductibles, and monthly premiums that are literally three times more expensive than the original agreement.

This tactic is uniquely malicious and predatory toward senior pets. Wagmo knows exactly what they are doing. They know that if you refuse their overpriced, downgraded replacement plan, you are caught in an impossible financial trap. Trying to switch to a reputable, independent outside carrier means every single minor symptom, routine blood test, or historical reading in your pet's medical file over the years will instantly be flagged as a permanent pre-existing condition. Wagmo is actively weaponizing your pet's advanced age and medical history to force you to pay their premium ransom, knowing you have nowhere else to go for full coverage.

But here is what they do not want you to know: they have been officially reported to the state, and their former broker, National Specialty, is now under formal investigation by the Maryland Insurance Administration. The state regulators found enough severe, systemic issues with their tactics that the MIA had to step in and issue an official regulatory directive ordering the carrier to hold current policies in effect under state law.

Instead of complying like a legitimate business, Wagmo and their partners resorted to straight-up malicious compliance and bureaucratic sabotage. National Specialty responded to the state acknowledging the order, explicitly told me to wait for further billing instructions, and then completely blocked my ability to pay my premium. They, along with Boost Insurance Agency, deliberately blew past deadlines and refused to provide a secure payment link.

This is not a technical glitch; it is a calculated, bad-faith operational tactic to engineer an artificial policy lapse right before a scheduled veterinary physical. They are trying to manufacture a legal loophole to cancel policies, dodge new clinical findings, and escape state oversight. They are an ethically bankrupt, incompetent dumpster fire of an organization that will break contracts, defy state insurance commissioners, and lock you out of your own billing portal just to avoid paying claims for aging animals.

Avoid them at all costs, especially if you care about your rights and your pets. What they are doing is down-right illegal and EVERY pet parent needs to be aware before engaging with this predatory company.

Unexpected surgery for my pup fully covered

My Dog swallowed something he shouldn't have 2 days ago. When everything was said and done we were left with over 12k in vet bills for Xray, Ultrasound, Bloodwork, and surgery w/ anesthesia. Luckily Wagmo's insurance plan covered all of it, and my claims were reviewed and processed the same day I uploaded them.

Beware of wellness plan

Customer service is great they answer all your questions and are friendly, but the company principal/policy are ridiculous. I went in for a check up and the vet inform me that he wanted to do a bloodwork just in case so I agreed thinking it will be covered. I get the status of my claim it got rejected when though they are supposed to cover check and bloodwork which there was no medical or emergency reason. What the point of having a plan if they are going to reject you. I cancel my plan and won’t be going with them.

"Beware: Wagmo's Promisses of Extraordinary Care May Fall Short!"

Wagmo claims to prioritize extraordinary care for pets and their families, but my experience has been far from extraordinary. Their promises of making pet care easier and providing financial relief feel empty when their claims process is unnecessarily difficult and unreasonably strict.

Despite doing everything I could to meet their requirements, they seemed more focused on finding reasons to deny claims rather than supporting me when I needed them most. The lack of flexibility and empathy in their process directly contradicts the values they advertise, making me question their commitment to pet parents.

I expected more from a company that claims to empower pet owners and simplify care. If you're looking for pet insurance, I’d recommend finding a provider that actually stands by their promises and offers real support when it matters.

I’m on a Wagmo Wellness plan and have…

I’m on a Wagmo Wellness plan and have had a great experience so far! I took my senior chihuahua for an exam, Blood work, urinalysis, Rabies vaccine and a toe nail trim. It came out to just shy of $400. I only ended up paying $118 and got reimbursed in under 48 hours. Impressed, glad I got the same plan for my cats!

Once your dog gets a condition they won’t renew

I had my senior dog on wagmo for years with no claims filed. When we got our new puppy we enrolled her on wagmo as soon as we got her. When the puppy turned one we discovered she had luxating patella on both legs 😕. We were recommended to do surgery one leg first as she was having lameness everyday several times a da and it might all resolve with one leg only. Thankfully we had wagmo insurance and they reimbursed for surgery on the one leg. Unfortunately, they decided at the end of this year not to renew our insurance due to their risk increasing because of our puppy’s condition. They did not renew the puppy’s or my senior dog (which I have never filed a claim for in years that I’ve had the insurance). This has been very disappointing since now my puppy has a preexisting condition and even though I got her insurance when we first got her now she won’t be insured on her knees when we get new insurance. Not only that, I have to find a new insurance for our senior dog. Keep in mind that once your dog has a condition they can decide not to renew.

Fraudulent Scam Artist

I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with my recent experience with Wagmo Insurance. I had to face a stressful situation when they unjustly denied coverage for my pet's treatment for Addison's disease, claiming it was a pre-existing condition, which it clearly was not.

Despite providing clear veterinary documentation that showed no prior diagnosis or symptoms of Addison's disease before my coverage started, Wagmo refused to cover the necessary treatment. The vet’s records clearly stated that there had been no indication of Addison's disease or an Addisonian crisis prior to the commencement of the insurance coverage, which should have qualified for coverage under the terms of the policy.

This denial not only caused financial strain but also put my pet's health at risk. The situation suggests a serious flaw in how Wagmo handles claims and their consideration for the well-being of our pets, which is supposed to be their core responsibility.

I expected much more from Wagmo, especially given their promises of comprehensive coverage and support. This experience has left me questioning the integrity of their operations and their commitment to pet owners and their companions. I would strongly advise pet owners to consider other insurance providers who may offer more reliable and transparent services.

THE WORST

THE WORST! I paid months worth of premiums for two dogs. I sent in a Claims for both of my dogs and it took almost 3 months to have the claims “reviewed”. After multiple emails asking what was happening I finally got a denial. But I had been paying large premiums every month for coverage while they made me wait. I realized this was a scam they play. As a result of my legitimate claims being denied there was no sense going forward with the plan because every other claim would be considered an “existing condition”! Even if it had nothing to do with what they previously denied! I spoke to my vet about this and she said she had heard this about Wagmo from other patients. Save your money. This insurance is an absolute scam.

This company is full of hot heads who raised a bunch of daddies money. Hired incompetent people and their customers hate their company.

Trust me, stay far away!

I have sold over 5,000 insurance polices and not 1 they would choose Wagmo. Stay away!

Not to mention the break laws with their lying tactics. I have email proof that they pay for lead but after 50 attempts to prove it they were never tracked our counted.

DO NOT BUY WAGMO

So -- I bought the wellness plan - submitted a claim ... they paid quickly ... I was happy. Today -- I submitted another wellness claim ... it was rejected. I went to cancel the policy and they told me it would be a $200 cancellation fee .... this is a scam. Someone should report them to the insurance commission. DO NOT GET WAGMO!
