Provides not very coherent sentences at times + very bad customer service as I got charged even after cancelling my subscription

Hi,

Your subscription was still active at the time of billing, which is why the renewal was processed. You reached out after the charge went through, and this was clearly explained in our support response.

Walter Writes AI operates on a subscription model with automatic renewals unless canceled beforehand. These terms are presented at checkout and agreed to during sign-up.

If there were concerns about the text output, we didn’t receive any support request about that during your usage period. We’re always happy to help when issues are reported directly.

Stay away, scammy website that does not work

I tried this site to humanize a text flagged as AI, but the humanizer doesn't work. The text it gives you is meaningless, with random words and completely incoherent. Also, they don't give refunds, so it's basically a rip-off for a product that doesn't work.

Hi Alessandro,

Your refund request was carefully reviewed and responded to promptly. However, it fell outside our clearly stated refund policy, which is presented before checkout and agreed to at sign-up.

You also did not report any issues before requesting a refund or indicate that something had gone wrong. Had you shared specific concerns earlier, we would have been happy to assist.

It’s also worth noting that you continued to use the platform even after submitting your refund request, which clearly suggests that you were actively engaging with the service rather than finding it unusable, as claimed.

Worst tool to use for ai detection

Not only did I use it once and stopped immediately as it got caught by copyleaks , gptzero etc, I forgot to cancel the subscription, got in contact with the team 2 minutes after I saw it renew and yet no refund at all. Other services at least provided a refund if not a partial refund . Horrible tool that changes the meaning of the whole paragraph/text and words to oblivion. Do not recommend and still want my refund back. Ridiculous.

Edit for the ignorant reply below:

The lack of reporting to you in the first place and the fact I only used it once is further proof I found your tool to be useless compared to those on the market. As for your shady terms when it comes to your dodgy refund policy it's exactly that. Seeing as you think I posted a negative review about your product because I did not get my refund is stupid and you're assuming. I was going to review it badly due to the shady refund policy, but thought I would also give me honest thoughts on the product .

It changes the sentences in a way that the work or paragraph becomes unrecognisable , putting random phrases that never existed or changing t so much it's unrecognisable . Furthermore it adds grammatical mistakes , add that with random words unrelated to the content at hand and of course it may show up as undetectable, which also , was not the case. Copyleaks, GPTZero and ZeroGPT as well as Sapling, 4 of the most trusted ai detectors either detected 25 to 90% with 3 of them being over 90% . This tool is as much of a joke as the sad refund policy is and the stupid assumptions you have made by writing down such a reply below.

Hi,

Your subscription renewed because it was still active at the time of billing. You reached out after the renewal, and while we understand that forgetting to cancel can be frustrating, the charge was processed in accordance with our clearly stated terms, which are presented before checkout and agreed to at sign-up.

Regarding your claims about detection, at no point during your subscription did you report any issues or request help. This review is the first time we’re hearing about concerns, and it appears to have been posted only after your refund request was declined. That context matters.

Our Humanizer is trained to generate natural, human-like results while reducing the likelihood of detection by widely used AI detectors. While no tool can guarantee a perfect score across all platforms, our predictions are designed to align closely with how top detectors evaluate text.

We’re transparent about how our tool works. In this case, we reviewed your usage and found no indication of the issues you’ve described. We welcome honest feedback, but we ask that it be accurate and based on actual experience.

Deceptive and hardly functional

Seems to utilise some kind of thesaurus program to seemingly change terms to synonyms arbitrarily. It always destroys the readability and semantic meaning of any text input.
Also, they lead you to believe that your text is checked for AI against other AI detection databases by showing checkboxes that confirm the text will not trigger turnitin, gptzero and other detection programs. This is not the case, if you submit the re-written text to any of these other programs, they easily detect it as AI.
This is highly deceptive. Only in the small print you find that they do not actually check with these other programs and instead only use their own algorithm.

Hi Matthew,

We appreciate all feedback, even when it’s critical. However, we’d like to correct several factual inaccuracies in your review to help clarify how our platform works for others reading.

First, Walter Writes AI does not use a “thesaurus program” to arbitrarily replace words. Our Humanizer is powered by advanced language models that restructure phrasing and flow based on context, not arbitrary word swaps. The goal is to produce content that reads more naturally while reducing AI detectability.

Second, we do not claim to have access to the databases or internal algorithms of third-party AI detection tools. That would not be technically or legally possible. What we provide, as clearly stated, is a prediction of how your text is likely to score on popular detection tools based on our own trained models and benchmarking. This is clearly stated in the explanatory tooltips available throughout the platform, not buried in “small print” as you’ve suggested.

We are fully transparent about the scope and purpose of our tool, and we do not mislead users into believing we’re directly connected to other detection platforms. We stand by the integrity of our platform, and we’re always open to feedback that helps us improve.

Walter AI’s practices are unethical and, frankly, border on being a scam

My experience with Walter AI has been extremely negative, especially when it comes to their refund policy and customer support. I initially signed up hoping for a quality service, but the product did not meet my expectations at all. When I tried to get a refund after the first month because of the poor quality, I was told that I wasn’t eligible—despite reaching out right after an auto-renewal charge that I didn’t intend. It had been less than an hour since the payment, but they still refused, saying their 3-day refund policy only applies to the very first payment, never to renewals. This is never made clear upfront; their vague wording tricks customers into thinking they might be eligible, but in reality, almost nobody is.

To make matters worse, when I contacted customer support, I was promised help but never actually received any. The support team only responded with canned excuses or shut down the conversation, sometimes ignoring clear policy criteria that should have allowed a refund. This isn’t just my situation—many users have reported the exact same thing: misleading charges, terrible customer care, and a refund system designed to avoid actually issuing refunds.

Walter AI’s practices are unethical and, frankly, border on being a scam. I’ll be sharing my story with my friends in the academic YouTube community to ensure others don’t fall into the same trap. This service should be avoided by anyone who values honesty and transparency in business.

Hi Abdelrahman,

We take customer support and feedback seriously, and while we understand your frustration, describing our practices as “unethical” or a “scam” is both inaccurate and unfair.

We responded to your inquiry within our stated 48-hour window and followed up by requesting additional information to better assist you. You did not reply. Instead, you continued using the platform and processed over 16,000 words prior to your subscription renewal, a clear indication that you engaged with and derived value from the service during that time. Posting a public review without allowing us the opportunity to help is misleading and unnecessarily damaging.

Your claim of “misleading charges” is also incorrect. Our billing terms are clearly presented before checkout, and our team is available to assist with any questions you may have before or after your purchase. We apply our policies consistently to ensure fairness for all users, and these terms were accepted when you subscribed to our services.

We stand by our policies and our support process, and we remain committed to helping customers who engage with us in good faith.

I asked them several times to provide me their API access. Mentioning that as I'm in the tech industry, I could be of help. They refused. In any platform I worked with or founded, I've denied a user who wanted to be involved. That's a HUGE red flag from their leadership, culture, and team.

Disappointing results — be cautious before committing

I really wanted Walter AI to work, but my experience has been very disappointing. While the tool does seem to help content pass AI detection, it does so by changing words and phrases in ways that often don’t make sense or simply don’t fit the sentence. The result is text that feels unnatural and awkward — especially for website copy. If I came across content like this on a site, I’d honestly find it off-putting as a visitor.

To make matters worse, the refund policy is very restrictive. Even though the output was poor quality and unusable for me, I wasn’t eligible for a refund under their terms. Thankfully, I had only paid for a single month — but I nearly signed up for a year, and I would have felt very cheated if I had.

My advice: if you’re considering this tool, test it on a monthly plan first before committing to anything long-term.

Hi Julia,

We’re sorry to hear that your experience with Walter Writes AI didn’t meet your expectations.

To better understand what may have gone wrong, we reached out to request additional information that would help us locate your account. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response, which limited our ability to investigate further.

That said, we take all feedback seriously and continue to refine how our tool balances natural language with effective detection bypass. Our Humanizer is trained on high-quality data sources; however, results may vary depending on the input and the intended use case.

As for our refund policy, we strive to be as transparent as possible. Our terms are clearly outlined on our website and are applied consistently to ensure fairness and maintain trust across all users.

We remain committed to improving the platform and would be happy to take a closer look if you decide to get in touch. You can reach us at support@walterwrites.ai at any time.

Hi,

We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear you found the content and detection tools helpful.

However, we’d like to clarify that your original account was permanently deactivated due to activity that violated our Terms of Service. This decision was communicated to you directly after your original subscription ended, and you were informed at that time that access would not be reinstated.

Despite that, a second account was later created under a different email. Creating new accounts to bypass a prior ban is itself a violation of our Terms, and the system flagged and closed the second account accordingly.

We apply our policies consistently to maintain fairness and protect the integrity of the platform for all users.

Refused Refund Despite Meeting Their Own Terms. Avoid‼️

Walter Writes AI refused to refund my subscription even though I met the exact criteria they claim to honor. I didn’t use the tool at all during the billing cycle and reached out promptly to request a refund. Their own policy says refunds are possible if the tool hasn’t been used. Yet, they ignored that and fell back on generic excuses like “you forgot to cancel.”

I didn’t ask for a refund because I was unhappy with the results… I literally didn’t use the service. Instead of addressing this fairly, they shut down the conversation and refused to help. It feels like they rely on technicalities and canned responses to deny legitimate refund requests.

If you’re thinking of subscribing, be warned: they don’t stand by their own terms, and once they have your money, you’re on your own. Not worth the risk.

Hi J,

We take all feedback seriously, but it’s equally important to correct inaccuracies.

Your refund request was thoroughly reviewed and declined because it did not meet the eligibility criteria outlined in our Terms of Service. While we understand that forgetting to cancel can be frustrating, our billing model is clearly communicated at the time of checkout. These policies align with standard practices across the SaaS industry and are designed to ensure fairness and predictability for all users. To suggest that we “don’t stand by our own terms” is both misleading and untrue.

We’d also like to clarify that the conversation was not “shut down.” Our support team responded promptly and professionally to each of your messages, providing detailed explanations of our policies and the reasons behind our decision.

We apply our policies consistently to ensure fairness for all users, and we stand by how your request was handled.

Heads up if you’re thinking about trying Walter AI.

I gave it a shot because I was curious — the tool itself is actually fine. It does what it’s supposed to: generates decent content, works fast, and has a clean interface. I used it to help outline some blog posts and emails, and for basic stuff like that, it did the job. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely usable.

But here’s where things went sideways…

I forgot to cancel before the renewal date, and they charged me immediately — no reminder, no warning, nothing. I contacted support literally the same day, thinking they’d be reasonable since I didn’t use the service after it renewed. Nope. Their response was basically, “Sorry, all sales are final. No refunds.”

I get that policies are policies, but most legit services at least send you a heads-up before billing or offer a short grace period. Walter AI does neither, which honestly makes it feel like they’re banking on people forgetting to cancel. That part really rubbed me the wrong way.

So yeah — the AI works. It’s decent. But the way they handle subscriptions feels a bit shady. If you try it, set a calendar reminder to cancel, because once that auto-renew hits, your money’s

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. We’re glad to hear that Walter Writes AI worked well for your needs, and we truly appreciate your acknowledgment of the tool's quality; it means a lot to us and helps others evaluate the platform more accurately.

Regarding your concern about the renewal, we would like to clarify that our subscription plans are set to renew automatically unless canceled, and this is clearly communicated during checkout and in our Terms of Service. This approach is standard across most SaaS platforms that operate under a subscription-based model and ensures uninterrupted access unless a user chooses to cancel.

Because this recurring structure is built in by design, we do our best to communicate the terms clearly from the outset. Applying our policies consistently helps us ensure fairness for all users and maintain a smooth experience across the board.

Thanks again for trying Walter Writes AI and for sharing your experience.

Your subscription has been active since the date of purchase, and at no point has access to your account or its features been restricted. The notice you received was not an error; it clearly indicated that you had reached the monthly word limit included in your plan, which is also visible within your account.

Your account shows successful usage as recently as four days prior to this review, directly contradicting the claim that you haven’t been able to use the service for an entire month.

We responded to your support inquiry within hours and provided a clear explanation of how your plan works, making the claim that support was “offline for 8 days” entirely inaccurate.

We take support seriously and respond promptly to legitimate concerns. Publicly misrepresenting how our platform or support operates does not reflect the truth and does a disservice to others evaluating our service in good faith.

A Complete Failure in Functionality/Service

Note: I used 2,000 credits, roughly 3.5% of the 55,000 credits. Despite this limited usage and then to detect their tool’s failure, their support team falsely accused me of “excessive” use. It’s worth noting that they intentionally restrict how much text you can use to try tempting you to subscribe. I strongly recommend reading all reviews carefully, both on and beyond Trustpilot before deciding to invest in this product.

I definitely do not recommend Walter Wright’s AI tool. While it claims to humanize AI-generated text and does pass AI detection, the quality of the output is extremely poor. The tool completely alters your content, jumbling sentences into incoherent and disorganized paragraphs. It removes punctuation, disrupts structure, and makes the writing sound childish and unreadable.

I tried multiple settings.. simple, standard, and “enhanced”, but none produced usable results. I contacted support with to review clear examples of the tool’s failure, but they seem uninterested and refuse to offer a refund, despite the obvious flaws.

This tool does not work as promised and offers no real value. Be cautious, they will not refund you if you’ve used even a small portion of your credits, even if the results are unusable. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Hi,

We take feedback seriously, but your review misrepresents both your experience and how our service operates.

You reached out after using a significant portion of your plan, beyond the eligibility limit outlined in our publicly available refund policy. At no point during that usage did you report a system error or malfunction. Your refund request was submitted only after extended use of the tool.

The claim that refunds are not granted under any circumstance is incorrect. We issue refunds fairly and consistently to users who meet the criteria. In your case, usage exceeded the limit, and that information was visible in your account at all times.

Our policies are clear, and your request was handled accordingly.

Your review contains several inaccurate statements that misrepresent how our platform and refund process work.

Your refund request was declined because your usage exceeded the eligibility threshold outlined in our refund policy. This policy is publicly available on our website and presented clearly before purchase. The number of processed words is visible in your account, and at no point during your refund request did you dispute that data—because it was accurate. Our system tracks processed words with a high degree of precision, and refund requests are handled consistently and fairly across all accounts. Claiming now, in a public review, that the tracking is “inaccurate” is simply untrue and not supported by anything you communicated to us at the time.

No concerns about product quality were raised prior to your refund request. Feedback is always welcome, but raising vague complaints only in a public review—after a refund has been declined—does not reflect an honest or constructive evaluation of the service.

We remain committed to transparency and fairness, and we apply the same policies equally to all users.

Deceptive Pricing

Deceptive Pricing, Refused Refund Even After Immediate Request!

I signed up for Walter Wright AI believing I would be charged $11 per month, as that was bolded on their pricing page. Nowhere was it made clear that I’d be billed $132 upfront for the entire year. When I saw the unexpected charge, I contacted them within an hour to request a refund—but they refused.

Their excuse? They claimed I had exceeded their 1,500-word usage limit, even though I only used it once for a single essay less that 1,500 words. Their usage tracking system is inaccurate, and they use it as a loophole to deny refunds.

After looking into it, I found that many other users have been tricked the same way—misleading charges, terrible customer support, and unfair refund policies. This company is clearly using deceptive practices to lock people into annual subscriptions.

If you’ve been scammed the same way, I highly recommend disputing the charge with your bank. Walter Wright AI is not transparent, and their business practices are shady. Avoid this service!

Your review contains multiple false claims, and we will address each one directly.

You refer to our company as Walter Wright AI, which is not even the correct name of the service you subscribed to. Given this, it’s possible that there was also some confusion when reviewing our pricing and policies before making a purchase.

You claim that you were charged unexpectedly, yet our checkout process clearly allows customers to toggle between monthly and annual plans before subscribing. The annual plan is billed upfront, and this information is explicitly displayed on both our pricing page and checkout screen before purchase confirmation. The total cost was shown in large, bold text before you manually approved the payment. The charge was neither hidden nor misleading. You were billed $132 because that is the plan you selected—suggesting otherwise is dishonest.

Your refund request was denied because your usage exceeded the eligibility limit outlined in our refund policy. When informed of this, you claimed your usage was within the limit. However, when we repeatedly asked you to provide a screenshot of your total processed words from your account, you never did. Instead, you sent misleading screenshots showing only a single processed text, rather than your full usage. The reason you avoided providing the correct screenshot is clear—our system is exceptionally precise and reliably tracks all processed words without error. You were fully aware that our decision was based on verifiable data, and the actual number of words processed in your account did not support your claim.

We responded four separate times, professionally explaining the situation and giving you multiple opportunities to provide valid proof. Instead of doing so, you are now making false public accusations, including the claim that “many other users have been tricked” in the same way. This is completely untrue. Walter Writes AI operates with full transparency, and our pricing and refund policies are clearly outlined on our website and consistently enforced.

You are now publicly encouraging others to dispute charges with their banks, despite having knowingly selected your plan, confirmed the total amount before payment, and used the service beyond refund eligibility. Encouraging fraudulent chargebacks is an unethical attempt to bypass a policy you willingly agreed to after fully using the service.

Walter Writes AI is built on fairness and transparency. Our pricing and refund policies are clearly stated and applied consistently to all customers. We will not allow false accusations to misrepresent our business.

Refund sucks

I recently had an unpleasant experience with Walter Writes AI regarding their refund policy. After being charged for a subscription renewal, I reached out for a refund, only to be told that their 3-day refund policy applies strictly to the initial subscription purchase, not renewals.

The major issue? Nowhere in their policy does it explicitly state that the refund period applies only to the initial purchase or that it doesn't reset with each renewal. The policy simply mentions a 3-day refund, which led me to believe it applied to all charges, including renewals.

Despite my polite request and logical reasoning, they stuck to their vague terms and refused the refund. They did cancel my subscription to avoid future charges, but the lack of transparency in their policy and the rigid stance left a sour taste.

If you're considering using Walter Writes AI, be cautious about their refund terms. What you see isn’t always what you get.

Customer support was not understanding and refused to give me a refund. Please avoid and find a different service. The few times I did try this service, it managed to pass AI detectors by incorporating edits that didn’t make sense. With the slightest change of those edits, it would no longer pass.
