Terrible service. Can't watch via Firestick. Says have to buy Chromecast which is discontinued. It's like they don't want anyone watching afl abroad.

Folking out alot of money for it not to work and get a 2min gambling and on loop. Absolute disgrace

I paid a substantial amount to watch games in the USA and am unable to watch any games. All that is available is a 2 minute preview and I can’t stream the live games. Unprofessional and incompetent service with no support!!!

Wish I had read the reviews before dropping £140 for a season subscription. Was able to watch 2 weeks worth of games. And was really happy with it. Now I am trying to watch a game live and get a 2min add then nothing. No option to watch live or from start. Just an option to watch from the start. Playing the same 2min pre game crap, then nothing. Checked internet speed, logged in and out multiple times, tried using ipad and laptop. All the same.
Emailed support, but from previous reviews, guess I will either not hear anything, or get some excuse. As others have said, happy to take the money. But help people and provide the product purchased, I can only cross my fingers and watch the worm on the AFL app.

I have paid for the subscription (the money has left my bank account) and it then says I need a subscription... did it again twice. So, paid for a monthly subscription three times... still doesn't work. This is crazy, and the price is a rort.

Downloaded and paid for 1 week on a trip to Canada in September 2025. When I went to watch the game (FREvGC) the app told me I was in Australia so couldn’t watch the game.

Only realised in October I was now on a weekly renewing subscription so logged in and cancelled it but saw I had also been charged 3 times on the first week, so I wrote to customer service about these issues.

They have pointed to their terms and conditions and failed to explain the app not working or the multiple initial charges on signup. Extremely dissatisfied.

I would recommend that you do not sign up for the Watch AFL service. Simply it does not consistently work. I have the latest iPad and iPhone with up to date software and it didn’t work on the biggest day of all. The AFL grand final. A rip off.

AVOID. If you're lucky, you'll just experience poor service. If you're unlucky, like me, you'll not be provided what you've paid for, then continue to pay despite your protestations, without refund. The conduct of this service is genuinely criminal. There are other ways to watch. Do not use this service.

like the others said signed up for 1 week only nothing about auto renewal, yet continuously charged weekly for weeks even though you're not eligible to use product in Australia, underhanded fraudulent tactics, do not sign up and give this thieving company a cent.

I went overseas for one week, watched the Pies beat Westcoast, all was ok until I got home and saw another weekly charge come out. VERY DODGY AND MISLEADING, I only authorised one week only, no where did I authorise ongoing payments. I was very careful signing out and deleting the app afterwards. This app is designed for Aussies on holidays not ongoing subscriptions. You need to make it a lot more transparent, make a one week subscription as default not ongoing, if you want ongoing you must then request ongoing not default. It’s a bit disappointing as the service was good and worked ok. Very clearly designed for GREED.

If I could rate it -100 I would. I feel like an idiot that I didn’t see the other reviews with exactly the same problem. I paid for the weekly subscription to watch 1 game whilst in Italy and had no idea they were auto renewing until I saw two further unauthorised transactions from my bank account. I’ve emailed them to ask for a refund as clearly I didn’t access the service after the initial week and have heard nothing back. I will be forwarding this to the AFL integrity department as it appears like a scam that is damaging their brand. I would recommend avoiding at all costs or at least being aware of the auto renewal scam.

Sure we did watch one game while overseas but what we didn’t realise was that they continue to charge you even though I subscribed to the one week only option. I consider this a rort - it would be easy enough to inform patrons each week they were being charged but I didn’t get one notification of the extra charges.
When I requested a refund it was denied on the basis that I should’ve known it was a recurring subscription - if I’d known I would’ve cancelled it. Also, they would be able to see that I only watched one game & didn’t access the app any time after that.
I can’t help but think this app has been set up to mislead patrons and we will never use the app again.

One star only caus the app actually worked and worked well BUT minus 4 stars caus I literally paid nearly $300 to watch 2 games. The way they set these offers up when you log in is misleading.
BE CAREFUL, if you think you are just signing up for one week or month or year, You’re not, they keep taking your money each week. I thought I bought one week plan, but I later found out $$ were coming out each week i was away. I emailed them and they kindly reminded me that it’s in all their documentation when you sign up to both AFL and NRL WATCH they do state these are ongoing until you cancel. Not sure how many people pick up on the but I can see there are quite a few in the same boat as me. I asked them if I could get a refund due to my error, but they declined. What a rort!!! Taking advantage of people’s mistakes, although I do honestly find it misleading.

Tip - just get yourself a VPN and you can link back Kayo etc back through your device connected to wifi when you were back to your stay. I figured this out after 2 weeks and did this while my account was slowly getting sucked out by AFL/NRL watch.

Terrible app.
Tried multiple times to watch the gf from the start rather than live and then it kept skipping to the end.
No point now - result spoiled. Waste of money.

They act like scammers, I paid for 1 week so I could watch 1 game. 9 weeks later I realise they are auto renewing without any notice. What a scam.

Same reply as everyone on this page. Recurring subscription that must have been in the fine print. Thievery at its most cunning.

Not only is it expensive and is the picture quality poor but even worse is the customer service. Not only am I a foxtel customer at home and have bought this product when travelling before but when I realised it rolled over without notifying me, I asked them for lenience and understanding, also queried why you don’t receive a receipt or confirmation of rollover but they refuse to answer my questions. Will just buy a vpn in the future.

I have been using WATCHAFL for a number of years now and not one of those years has the service even rated above 3 out of 10.
I only allow the renewal as there is no other offer available.
Frustrating to use, often unavailable, stoppages during transmission and dreadful customer service. Avoid if at all possible.

Absolutely terrible customer service, money-grabbing and you need to be careful because they will automatically keep billing you if you don't cancel.
When I contacted them I was given, what I assume to be, a cut and paste standard response.

"Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a refund on your subscription. Watch subscriptions automatically renew at the end of your initial subscription period, renewing for another period of the same length as your original subscription. This is outlined throughout various stages upon signing up, including the Watch website and our Terms and Conditions. For more details, you may also refer to this link..."

They know they have the market to themselves and, as such, can basically do whatever they want.

I'm very dissapointed.
