Absolute scammers

Do not sign a contract with watchmaster.com, as they will slap on huge fees. They will even charge you for refurbishment that is not needed!

I have been treated horribly by watchmaster ltd. They have taken 30%+ of the value of the watch I gave them to sell. It is not worth it to sell your watch through them! They then later poked fun at me over a call!

They offered my watch at a reduced amount of £1,900 (maximum valuation according to watchmaster is £2,050), in order to quickly sell my watch. They then deducted fees of £591(£361 Commission including £230 refurbishment -polishing cost) by claiming my watch needs more polishing to feel new, which takes away the vintage look.

So when I complained about the atrocious fees which they slapped on me, their response was that I signed a contract which gives them the right to charge me any amount for refurbishment as long as it is not over £300. To resolve this, they later responded that I can come to their facility so that they can showboat (absolutely no benefit to me !). perhaps, it is their way of doing a nice gesture lol

Aggressive salesmen who only care about getting the maximum profit from your Item. Squeezing every penny they can. I also received a horrible customer experience, whiles on the phone with Thomas Rickard. He decided to poke fun at me whiles I complained about the fees which they charged me, grant it I was upset but it is very unprofessional to poke fun at your customer whiles on a call with them!

My recommendation for anyone who wants to sell their watch valued below £10k is to try eBay or any other website which doesn't slap on atrocious fees to squeeze every penny out of you.

Shocking Experience - Flawless Follow Up

I dispatched my watch back in 2020, since I sent it, the service has been absolutely appalling!
I had to chase to get any update, I never saw my watch in any email advertising it and at the end of the 12 month contract, I was told I had to pay for the import tax to get my watch back as it was in Germany. Since then, my service representative informed me that they would reduce the commission to sell the watch, they didn't.
My watch has thankfully sold, 20 months after I sent it, and even since that point, it was all email, no calls or communication, just automated answers. I was told if I have a complaint to email in.

Overall, the service is shocking, the contract isn't worth the paper it's written on, and I will never deal with watchmaster again. For a company who have your luxury watch, I have had better service from McDonald's.

Update - What was first a shocking experience, actually turned out to be quite positive.
Tim did ring me back, which I was surprised about and was interested in my experience, and how they can improve it in the future.
This is the reason that I have changed my review from 1 start to 3.
I really hope my comments were taken on board and I did appreciate Tims time and comments. The service does need improving, but I'm hoping that future customers see the benefits from the conversation that I had. I have to admit, the feedback loop has been good and as I said, I hope it improves customer experience in the future.

Having paid for a watch I have not…

Having paid for a watch I have not received, for it is no longer available, the company Watchmaster is now refusing to reimburse my CC.
That, in English, is called theft. (En français, cela s’appelle du vol, rien d’autre ! )
Advertising a luxury item that is not available, and moreover seizing the paid funds is called fraud. Any proposition of Watchmaster’s henceforth unacceptable if the client is not firstly and foremost reimbursed in full.
Is this your business model, Watchmaster?
Is this truly how you manage aftersales service?

READ THE CONTRACT

Agreed a purchase with the head of sales including a part exchange and ultimately a balance due from me to complete. Once accepted I was sent a postage label and instructions on packaging up my watch which I done, then just before UPS arrived to collect it I was sent a contract to sign. The contract was asking me for 230% the original amount agreed. I therefore had to tell the UPS driver he was not needed and send him away. Followed this up with watchmaster and was given flimsy excuses then the MD emailed me, we had a discussion but still no resolution other than "they will do better" in future. The call with the MD was appreciated but a word of warning to anyone doing business with them is DO NOT LET YOUR WATCH GO UNTIL YOU READ THE CONTRACT as whatever their sales people say in emails is not worth the paper it is written on.

Nervous to start but quickly reassured

Slight nervous about buying some thing so expensive, secondhand online. However previous reviews and research checked out and the watch I wanted was very good value compared with buying new.

Once I took the plunge I was really impressed. The additional security step on the credit card was both unique and reassuring. Then the personal contact describing the next steps and asking for the measurements was further reassurance.

A few days later the product arrived, really well packed and presented, using a quick, tracked delivery service. Everything was spot on and just what I hoped for. A great end to end experience and I’ve ended up with what feels a bargain.

Highly recommended.

A trusted service

If you are in the market for a luxury watch, Watchmaster give a great service and you wont be disappointed.

From start to finish the service was excellent, my watch arrived when stated and was as described. I found them good value for money

Vintage watch service

Vintage watch service required. Good job and they replaced lens with correct OEM part at no extra cost. Polishing the old lens was not a satisfactory outcome. Pleased they took the initiative to replace. Timeline was good from postage to return. Kept informed throughout. Not cheap but you get a decent job done.

Excellent service

Excellent service. I bought a TAG and decided to change for an OMEGA, returning the TAG was easy and it was refunded no problem at all. Both watches were listed as very good but in my opinion are mint. I’m delighted with the watches and with the service. I’m even now considering upgrading the watch and doing a trade in. Would recommend.

The only way to sell a watch

If you want to sell your watch and don't need to rush then Watchmaster is the only sensible solution. I visited several renowned watch retailers to see if they were interested in my Rolex and the offers I received were on average 50% lower than the price I was quoted from Watchmaster. Their communication is excellent and attention to detail impeccable. I would not hesitate to recommend Watchmaster.
